Originally upgraded from AMD 1600 to the 3800XT and wowzers was that a step up. I'm mainly running the same programs (video games and video editing) and both CPU's will utilize between 40% and 60% max but the 3800XT is a lot faster. I'm using an X570 chipset and did so with the intention of getting the 5800X once it dropped. But looking at the benchmarks an average of 10-15% isn't a lot, especially considering the price difference between what I paid (which was a liquidation sale for 290$) and what the 5800X is going for (currently 450$). But considering that the current price for a 3800XT is about 350-400$ the 5800X is the better deal. I still want the 5800X just so I can fully utilize the chipset and the upgraded architecture. But until I find the perfect deal for the 5800X I'm more than happy enough and very content with my 3800XT.

Upgraded from 3600x to the 5800x Night and day difference, much more punchier, noticeably more responsive. Runs slightly warmer but that's by design. Prime 95 max temp 90.3c. Cinebench R20 single 634 and multi 5974 with PBO on.
