These are so close that in daily use you probably couldn't tell the difference. Qualcomm made a disappointing choice to handicap the 480's ability to capture 4K video. If you take lots of pictures and video, you're going to want the 678 even though the 480 is technically better at almost everything else.

First time using this budget chip... So far I am impressed. I have not gamed on this device yet. I do not play games on the phone really so I think it's a win for me. I have the 865 in other devices and as far as I am concerned this is good enough for what I do. Very happy here

The antutu and geekbench scores are wrong, the Snapdragon 480 is better than the 678.
