If you want to gaming on this processor go for Realme P4 pro 5g Since it has 2nd chip pixelworks x7 gen 2 to help this SoC on gaming and other stuff

No, the MediaTek Dimensity 8000series competitor is the Snapdragon 7+gen_series. The 7gen without the + is a midrange used in midrange phones unlike the 8000s and 7+gen used in premium-midrange phones

Thats just peak speed, this soc should easily perform better than 8100/8200/8300 and should be behind 8400 in real life. It has 5 cores cortex A720, which are more efficient than anything out there, only soc made with 3nm or 4nm but with 5 A720 or more should be better than this at reasonable power usage.

Someone out there, Doesn't dimensity 8000 series rival "7+ gen X" & "8s gen X" series. Like Dimensity 8350, snapdragon 7+ gen 3 & 8s gen 3 are on the same grade. Though dimensity 8400 & 8500 is inferior to snapdragon 8s gen 4. Then again there's no 8s gen 5(8 gen 5 is the one) this year. So dimensity 8500 is competing with snapdragon 8s gen 4(winner).

Contrary to what is noted, it does not support 4K at 60 fps but stops at 30 fps. That's stingy

Performance of this thing is similar to Dimensity 9000, but I expect this to be better at emulation

akp831, It's also overclocked, which means more heat generation therefore leading to thermal throttling

All are perfect in this Qualcomm processor, but one thing I noticed it has LPDDR4X RAM 2133Mhz with 17Gbps memory bandwidth and LPDDR5 3200Mhz with 25.6Gbps bandwidth, but why "LPDDR5X 4200Mhz with 33.6Gbps bandwidth" You noticed it's not fair 😞 It needs LPDDR5X with 51.2Gbps bandwidth although it has 2.8Ghz clock speed. Thanks.

Joe May 22, 2025 at 09:50 AM
More memory bandwidth is almost useless with a relatively small GPU. 7+ series has what you ask for.

Irfan May 22, 2025 at 10:23 AM
Joe, But comparing 7 gen 4 with 7 plus gen 2 check their RAM types with RAM speed and bandwidth LPDDR5X always with 51.2Gbps or more bandwidth.

Irfan, Theoretical max memory bandwidth is a product of RAM Speed and memory bus, it has nothing to do with the memory type. LPDDR4 3200 MT/s @ 2x 16 bit bus -> 25.6 GB/s LPDDR4 3200 MT/s @ 4x 16 bit bus -> 51.2 GB/s

7+g2 is also crippled with 25.6gbps. Even worse than 865 in some tasks because of that. Really needed atleast 35gbps.

Lol, 1) Adreno 722 is 1/3 the shaders of a flagship which means its relatively a small GPU. 2) Snapdragon 888 is a 5-year old SoC, and the only reason its faster is due to the higher clocks thanks to a much better manufacturing process. 3) I didn't downvote you, lol.

Joe, Its not shaders or clocks that you need to look at for seeing whether it has enough bandwidth...its tflops..and cpu performance too since these are all shared memory... So ignorant you are

Ok... this is interesting. The GPU performance is way higher than the SD 7 Gen 3 and more near than SD 7+ Gen 2. So... the GPU from the latter is underclocked and used for the SD 7 Gen 4?
+3 Reply
Joe May 22, 2025 at 09:53 AM
No, its the same GPU from the 7 Gen 3, the better performance is probably from an overclock.
