Why is the Gpu score of the A54 so much better than the A35 when they both use the same SoC. Is Samsung optimizing the A54 exynos 1380 Gpu more than the one on the A35?

I would love to get the A54 5g, but I use Consumer Cellular which uses AT&T service. Does anybody know which I should get? The A35 would work because of being factory unlocked. But here in US there's A big difference I'm money outlay. Thanks to all for any help. Have a bless day. Jim A.

The A54 is now cheaper than the A35. Additionally, I love the cameras on the A54; you can definitely see a distinct difference between them. It's also worth noting that you can likely use this phone for another three to four years, which is around the time I'll likely invest in a new one. Some highlights of the A54 include its excellent camera, impressive battery life (as tested), and a cheaper price. On the other hand, the A35 is a more recent model with longer update support, slightly better performance, and an attractive design. Therefore, the choice depends on one's individual preferences. Also, keep in mind that there are plenty of other options in this price range. Given the choice between these two, I would opt for the A54 due to its superior camera and lower price.

I chose model A54 for its smaller size (6.4-inch screen). However, its battery may have discharged a bit, as it's been a year since the model's launch (this is not the case for the white model, which was introduced later, near the end of 2023). It also has a larger front camera Mega Pixel count which makes a minor difference in daylight. Model A35 offers the advantage of a larger screen size (6.6"), and being newer, it has better camera sensors. On paper, its main (wide) camera module should perform slightly better than the A54, but it ultimately comes down to the image processing at the time the photo is taken. Both models share the same processor and yield similar benchmark results, but the A35 has superior heat dissipation due to its larger size and vapor cooling chamber. Also, you can receive up to 30% off your Samsung device when purchased through Unidays, using either a student or work (corporate) ID, plus other exclusive benefits. For individuals with fairly recent Samsung devices, I would recommend waiting a year or two, as the EU law about better batteries is set to be implemented from summer 2025. This law ensures that batteries should hold 80% of charge capacity after 800 charge cycles. Alternatively, you can purchase a new device now and wait until 2028/29 to upgrade. By then, user-replaceable smartphone batteries are expected to become legally mandated and Samsung may provide seven years of OS/security updates for A series smartphones.

There is a 10% difference; however, if updates matter to you then it's only 2 or 3%. True, the A54 is $50 cheaper in my region, but it's not a big deal. So, it's indeed hard to decide.

If the camera didn't bother you, you can easily say that A35 is better

Since both devices utilize the same chipset, your choice ultimately depends on your preferences. Opt for the A54 if superior camera quality is important to you, or choose the A35 if you prioritize having an up-to-date phone. It's worth noting that the A35 will be provided updates up until Android 18, whereas the A54 will only be updatable to Android 17. However, the A35 might currently be priced higher, making the A54 a possibly better overall option.

It's hard to decide whether to buy a used A54 phone. Although new, it's pretty much the same, and it's only $50 cheaper. So, the difference is not that much when comparing the two. My choice was A35 simply because I plan to use it for four years.
