Well Literally it's just a refurbished version from the old 4G family (Helio G90, G95, G96, G99, G100) and 5G Family (Dimensity 700, 720 and all Dimensity 6000 series) have thesame CPU configuration 2x Cortex A-76, 6x Cortex A-55 and GPU Mali G-57 MP2.
Since 2019 Mediatek's Mid Range Lineup never upgraded its CPU architecture even the Dimensity 8000 premium mid range series almost thesame only the clock speed increase.

ummm g90, g90t, and g95 have different gpu so technically its just a refurbished helio g96, g99, g100, and/or g200 but they added 5g on it

Nicc, They probably had no other choice but to upgrade the GPU as driver support eventually ends and something tells me that mediatek wouldn't be interested in maintaining support for older gpus in android

Why entry level 5G processors literally have Zero progress like for 5 straight years.. this specs and cores are old as Dimensity700...this is why i aint coming back to budget smartphone
Thats why unisoc is better than mediatek in entry level midrange

Tbf this soc design is from the 4g era and with mass production of phones with ewaste from the moment it left the factory hardware it keeps androids system requirements down and why would they spend more money on a proper upgrade when they can just refresh the same soc again and not give a single care because people will still buy it every though it's just a refreshed design from 2019

I've got one of these SOCs in my new Ulefone Armor Pad 4 Ultra thermal, and in this particular application I can atest it suits perfectly, it runs very smoothly without any lag whatsoever in any application both native and added, it also seamlessly runs its additional Usmart hardware silky smooth, this obviously isn't a gaming tablet, but that said it runs every game I've tried so far very smoothly at either full or close to full graphics, it's "only" wifi 5 but I'm connecting consistently at 249mbs which is the fastest connection I've ever personally had on any device I've owned, it's also a very budget friendly chip, but at the same time getting the most bang for your buck around, I haven't used it in any other pieces of hardware yet, but I can confirm it's driving this 10" tablet marvelously and never even gets warm

akp831, It's a constantly refreshed soc form 2019 higher clock speed and smaller transitors and a few tweaks but essentially just the same soc

It's been spotted in the upcoming Galaxy A16. Not a huge upgrade from Helio G99, but it's OK. We might even see Cortex-A78 in Galaxy A17.

Yum, Don't underestimate TSMC's A78. it's not a joke. It has been shown in Geekerwan's video that it is even better in terms of performance and efficiency than the next gen A710. When the MTK,SS, QC add a new Cortex Architacture cores design to a new SoC, they have to pay more licensing fees to ARM, so that the price of the SoC does not go up, so they have to reduce the number of big cores in the CPU cluster or reduce the shader cores count of the GPU. As a mid range SoC(not upper), the A55/A78 is old but still good, so users can expect more big cores with high clock speeds and uncompromised GPUs.

Soy, They don't pay pre core they pay for access to the IP and isa if arm charged for every core you produced arm would have died on the vine newer high performance core IPs do cost more but it's not on a pre core basis and having two performance cores is not a great thing unless you have insanely good core designs there's a reason why most socs have 4 higher performance cores
