This is a regression compared to the 7200 with ARMv9-A and Cortex-A715

Very Similar to the old Dimensity 1100 but with better GPU.
Mediatek SoC lineup in order in 2025:
Helio G series (G100, G200 as the latest) for Entry level/Low end devices
D6000 series for Low end devices
D7000 series is for Mid Range devices
D8000 series for Premium Mid range / almost flagship like performance devices
D9000 series for Flagship / High end devices
MediaTek 7500 should be like this:
CPU cluster
4x Cortex-A520 at 2 GHz
3x Cortex-A725 at 2.5 GHz
1x Cortex-A725 at 2.8 GHz
GPU
Mali-G625 MP4 at 1.3 GHz (EUs/Pipelines: 4 cores, I mean)
I don't know if NPU is gonna be updated but make it have 15 TOPS of performance.
It'll probably be a good generational update to 7400 then. Maybe, most likelyβ¦
It should also have 10-bit AV1 4K60 video decode beside H.264, H.265, VP9.
WiFi 7. Bluetooth 6.0
But at this point, it's not realistically possible. I'm expecting too much, lol. This will not happenβ¦
MediaTek must use Armv9.2 cores like Cortex A720 or A725, and for efficiency, A520 must be used instead of Cortex A55. For power performance, A720 or A725 is needed. The architecture of the core is good with 4+4, but it should use new generation cores for better performance and efficiency. Hello MediaTek, remind it!

The issue with naming scheme adopted by MediaTek in this case is that majority of people who don't read specs will have the impression that 7400 chip is a noticeable leap in performance compared to 7300. This chip should be called 7300+ or something similar. In general, to justify 7400 name this chip should have at least 10% increase in CPU performance both single and multi core or more (15% would be better). Hence, Mediatek should have replaced A78 cores with A715 to achieve the performance uplift to justify 7400 name.
The naming scheme is just SO off, you expect bigger means better, but no. It was even worse on the Dimensity 7300. It's disappointing they're not at least improving the spec sheet by 5% or 10%

this is such a stupid comment, the 7300 was also said to be a downgrade compared to the 7200 but it was completely different. The 7300 was designed for efficiency, with a TDP of only 3W. This is the same, it's marginally better but is extremely efficient for the performance and consumption.

tempayy, Then why name it like this? Why not name it like Dimensity 7350, rather than suggesting it as an entirely big upgrade like going from Dimensity 8300 to 8400? What reason outside of tricking customer into believing it?

Zackrack, because 7350 already existed. It's for the nothing phone 2a pro.

Djowg, Honestly Dimensity 7350 is also bad naming in itself. It is mostly just overclocked 7200, yet instead of being called Dimensity 7250 or something they jumped straight to 7350 even though 7350 and 7300 are barely related to each other. Yikes.

Kinda boring
Like literally I root for Mdtk Dimensity series more then Snapdragon ones
And this is what they bring out?
Mdtk 7300 and this one what's the difference? Anfew changes but performance wise?
Very disappointed in Mdtk this this time
Mdtk 8400 was a huge upgrade buy then u do this

At least is on a 4+4 core cluster,
because Dimensity 6xxx series uses the even older Cortex-A76 on a 2+6 cluster. But yes, the diference between Dimensity 7300 and Dimensity 7400 is minimal, and now using the A715+A510 cluster on the Dimensity 7xxx series is very needed.
rRR, I'd prefer them skipping A510 and A715 cores and going straight to A520 (2023 or 2024?) and A725 cores or going all big core like with A725 like 8400.
>A520 (2023 or 2024?)
A520 got refreshed with some improvements when 3nm production began and when A725 and X925 got released too for ARMv9.2-A

Its a Budget Mid Range chipset btw the specs is similar to the Poco X3 GT's Dimensity 1100 only the GPU is the latest also its way more efficient 4nm. If u hate this Budget Mid Range SoC just leap to Dimensity 8000's premium mid range offering this 2025 like Dimensity 8350 By Infinix GT 30 Pro
