Serhii, That's wrong, on Wikipedia it has 332GfLOPS as it should. 128ร2ร1300=332.8GFLOPS.
dont know where that guy got it from.
RDNA2 Xclipse 530 332.8GFLOPS.
It's rumored that Galaxy A37 will use the Exynos 1480, which is pretty neat.

The exynos 1480 should use the Mali GPU
It has nice rendering, and less lag, and also better OpenCL version and both Vulkan while the Xclipse only excels in Vulkan, Mali GPU is also best when it comes to graphics performance and to some users who emulate PojavLauncher or any emulators that involves similar to ray-tracing, The Mali GPU is best
(Just my opinion)

mali gpu is shit. flagship dimensity processor don't even use mali. and yes it is better in opengl, but any modern games and modern emulation uses vulkan.

Kiyo, Well Modern Mali GPUs like Mali-G720 MC7 perform very well on Vulkan and even beat their Adreno counterparts, you are still living in the past.

Only one pipeline (core) !
Only 128 shading units with 128 total shaders !
I don't know why this GPU seems worse for me ?

The theoretical performance of the NPU is 19.6.
Judged by a 4-fold increase, According to Samsung.

Suprisingly yeah, the temps are geniuely not bothersome at all and one of the rare Exynosses out there that doesn't thermal throttle.
Looking forward for the 1580 to develop over what we have here but some leaked Geekbenchs indicate that it's going to be only 15% stronger than the last chip which is quite underwhelming. Still all rumours though so lets see.

So nice to see samsung continues to cheapen out their products wherever possible.

1580 scores are ~ 3800 multi-core! Pretty wild for a midrange.

Guys, I have researched and looked for myself and probably I came with the reason of why the Antutu scores are so low (at least compared to GeekBench 6 with the Exynos 1480 being at Snapdragon 888 level), the reason is GPU test, that for some reason, Antutu seems to be not 100% compatible with AMD RDNA architecture GPUs like the Xclipse 530, 920 and even the 940 of S24, for example, the GPU of the Exynos 2400 seems to be way behind the Adreno 750 of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 on Antutu, but in real tests, they perform largely the same, with the Adreno 750 winning on some games and Xclipse 940 winning others.
This is similar to Xclipse 530 of Exynos 1480, on every other benchmarks the Xclipse 530 is like 40-50% better than the Mali G68 MP5 of the Exynos 1380, traslanting to real life tests, where the A55 is way better in gaming than the A54, but in Antutu the GPU scores differences are less than 5% which should be completely wrong.
If the Antutu GPU scores grew as it should, the GPU scores of Exynos 1480 would be around 230k putting it a bit behind Adreno 720 of Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 but ahead of the Mali G610 MC4 of Dimensity 7200 rising the total scores of the Exynos 1480 from 730k to 791k, a nice bump.

Glad to see this much improvement after the failur of A53 compared to it's A52s predecessor and A54 stagnation despite being 2 generations ahead of A52s.While it's not a really huge jump to 8 gen 1 level, atleast it's finnally heading in the right direction, i'm having high hopes for the next A5 series exynos to continue with this momentum and for A3 and A2 to optimize their older brother previous soc. Samsung A series finnally feel's like it has a clear goal now in terms of soc.

I don't know how the shader units affect the GPU, but I did some calculations and, in theory, it does. 166.4 GFLOPS, very low.

KLIMay 30, 2024 at 01:58 AM
That isn't possible. Even the A54 had 608 GFLOPS for GPU and the A55 is approximately 30-40% better in GPU.

perore15May 30, 2024 at 05:31 AM
How TF did you calculate GFLOPS? Also, it's more than 800 GFLOPS since it's 40% faster than Exynos 1380 with 640 GFLOPS.

alawadhi3000August 13, 2024 at 05:39 AM
Xclipse 530 has 1WGP or 2CU, RDNA2 is 64SP per CU so thats 128SP, GPU clock is 1300 MHz.
2x128x1.3= 332.8 FP32 GFLOPs.

alawadhi3000August 16, 2024 at 05:18 PM
KLI, A54 has the Exynos 1380 which has Mali-G68 MP5 @ 949MHz
Mali-G68 does 64 op per cycle per core.
64*5*0.949=303.68 GFlops, ~10% lower than the Exynos 1480.

MrschAugust 27, 2024 at 02:30 PM
alawadhi3000, It's 64x5x0.949x2 = 607.36 GFlops and it doesn't make any sense. Xclipse 530 is faster than G68MP5. I'm suspecting Xclipse 530 actually has 128 SP per CU, thus 2x2x128x1.3 = 665.6 GFlops.

JoeApril 7, 2025 at 06:04 AM
Mrsch, 1) The calculation of Mali G68 I did already accounts for the 2 ops per cycle, if you want to calculate it your way then it'll be 32x5x0.949x2=303.68 GFLOPs.
Each G68 GPU has 32SP, not 64SP.
2) Judging performance by comparing GFLOPs rating on two different architecture is useless.

1 execution unit and only 128 shaders, isn't that very little? And why can't we see Gflops?

TonhaJuly 14, 2024 at 04:01 PM
That's because the information provided by Nanoreview regarding GPUs is mostly wrong especially for Adreno and Xclipse GPUs, I don't even know where they are pulling the information from. They get this wrong even with Mali GPUs, for example they put 10 execution units for Dimensity 9000's Mali G710 MP10 (10 shader cores) when it should have been 20 EU since all Mali GPUs after Valhall 2nd Gen have 2 EUs per shader core. Best advice is just forget this section of the GPU.
Tonha, The problem is not about wrong numbers, but more of the definition of EUs in different GPU architecture pipelines/cores. We change the name of the "execution units" to pipelines to be less confusing.
Basically, the total amount of shaders is the most important.
If you find any mistakes towards our data โ please let us know (preferably with sources) and we will fix it.

Why do IMarch 18, 2024 at 03:15 PM
I don't understand. With a chipset that has single and multi-core scores of 1160+ and 3500+ in Geekbench 6, respectively, I'd expect scores of 800K+ in Antutu 10. Instead, it's only 720K. It seems like the GPU is the bottleneck here.

ZeroApril 1, 2024 at 02:43 PM
Indeed, the next generation (next year) should feature 75% of the flagship GPU instead of only 40%...
Also, in terms of the CPU, it's like the Exynos 1080 scenario all over again.
+13Reply
HanzApril 8, 2024 at 03:48 PM
No, that's not actually a bottleneck. The Exynos 1480 in the Galaxy A55 obtains an Antutu 10 score of 720k, not because of its limitations, but because Samsung limits its maximum performance. In reality, this chip is capable of achieving a score above 778k on Antutu by activating the alternative game performance feature via the game hub/game launcher provided by Samsung. This prevents the chip's performance from being limited. I gathered this data from a Chinese website detailing the Galaxy A55 with the Exynos 1480. The website featured a photo of the Antutu score for this chip, which was over 778k. Given some optimization, it might even touch 800k. Keep in mind that this is a new chipset, so it requires software optimization through updates from Samsung. The more you use it, the better the optimization becomes. However, it seems this website didn't test the Exynos 1480 at its maximum performance, as they apparently were unaware of or didn't activate the alternative gaming performance.

It's a pretty modest spec bump when you compare it to the Exynos 1380. I'm wondering how well it does when it comes to heat and power efficiency, though.

I expected performance similar to the Snapdragon 888, much like how the 7 Gen 3 managed, but it didn't reach that level. Also, there were no improvements in terms of its GPU compared to the Exynos 1080.
It's much like the Exynos 1080 in a 4nm variant, with a similar GPU.

The Exynos 1480 doesn't implement an improved GPU. The Exynos 1480, which uses Samsung's Xclipse 530 with AMD RDNA 2, is different from the Exynos 1380, which uses the ARM Mali G68 GPU. The performance of the Exynos 1480 is on par with that of the Snapdragon 888, which uses the ARM Cortex X series. The Exynos 1480 uses the ARM Cortex A78.
