The 9900x3d can play any game on the market with ease and it's also good for productivity work. I have found that it does absolutely everything I want and I'm happy. But I was worried about energy consumption but I chose the 9900X3d because it hit's the sweet spot between performance and what it costs to run it. There are more powerful processors out there if power is all that matters but it will cost in terms of electric costs and it will make you sweat in the summer. But I find that the 9900x3d is manageable in the summer if I open a window a bit. Also it you pair it with a decent graphics card, Memory and fast SSD's it will perform just great I have paired it with 64 GB of RAM (6000MHz) and a motherboard with four SSD slots and I have 8TB in each slot giving me 32TB to play with. I had my eyes set on the intel alternative the I9 Core Ultra 285K but I chose the 9900X3D because the power consumption is a tad better
