GPU clockspeed cannot be 2005mHz, in a video, the iGPU of this was measured to have a 25% faster GPU compared to the M1 Pro. Even with the more advanced technology, the GPU would at least need to be 2.25ghz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qNzDj9U20XU

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Actually, the GPU clock speed is 2005 MHz, as stated on Wikipedia.

Serhii, The GPU clock on wiki was taken from this site which was wrong, its 1620 MHz as per Geekerwan.

Joe, Geekerwan cannot be guranteed accurate source, especially at the lower viewers count. This website accurately references that old 2005mHz clockspeed that was used before. https://www.reddit.com/r/mac/comments/1rkm2q9/comparison_of_apple_m1m5_chips_at_max_ram_configs/. While it also isnt 100% reliable, it is more than the Youtube video.

If this still hasnt updated yet then the base TDP PL1 of the M5 was measured to be 27W with a boost of 40W (as usual). Unless there is more information about it then i recommend you update it.

Serhii, i found the 27W here https://www.notebookcheck.net/Apple-MacBook-Pro-M5-2025-review-The-fastest-single-core-performance-in-the-world.1144391.0.html

the M5 can actually boost to 60W. I tested this on my macbook pro m5 recently when running a benchmark. Its pl1 is still 27W however but it runs incredibly effieciently using only 5-7W per hour when multitasking light loads and then 3-4W when doing a couple light loads or watching a video

There is also another issue you didnt see, the m5 has a 2.25ghz clockspeed on gpu, a slight difference but still worth mentioning

So much bitching, complaining and moaning by me here but please bear with me. Man, this is such a tough pill to swallow. Apple is making big strides with their controlling but improving nature when it comes to their silicon. M5 is faster/close enough to Ryzen 7 9700X in multi-core scores while having the fastest single-core. Their GPU seems to be even better 20-30% (compared to M4) depending on the application but still, that's a good improvement. Didn't M4 launch last year? That was a good generational improvement over M3 but now M5 is another good SoC from Apple. I find Apple is pushing hardware a lot faster than Intel, AMD and Nvidia especially when it comes to their silicon. Oh, maybe it's only because Apple is doing what they did and they have control over everything in their hardware while Intel, AMD and Nvidia make so many products and have to accomodate for every configuration that works in PC and Laptop space. Still, M-series chips by Apple are crazy efficient, and have great performance/watt. Wonder when will X86 CPUs and Intel, AMD and Nvidia GPU's get that efficient. AMD has high idle power consumption issues because of chiplet design of their desktop CPUs while their Laptop APUs are fine because they're monolithic chips. Some of the AMD AI 300 chips are really good and some aren't. Intel's Lunar Lake was good with the battery life but with performance that's not that fast… Arrow Lake desktop chips are great for workstations. Their multi-core performance is some of the best but prices are… Nvidia's GPU efficiency is the best in desktop space atleast for the 5060-5070 class GPUs but they're not more ambitious with getting even better 'cause they have other products that make a lot of money. I don't know about Nvidia's Laptop GPUs so forgive me. 5060 performance at 65w? That'd be actually impressive if it happened now. Ryzen 7 9700X level performance at 35w? That too would be impressive if it happened now but… Yeah, I know different priorities and all but c'mon, Apple is doing crazy improvements with performance and efficiency and they're scaling them well across both Desktop and Laptop lineups of theirs, why are Intel, AMD and Nvidia are sitting on their laurels here?

if i see any apple glazers out there, are you able to customize your "Iphone 17 Pro Max" that is orange, like how android or samsung (And for apple glazers "SCAMSUNG"), samsung is probably the easiest to customize.

Talking about a phone in here is like you trying to compare M5 chip to a mobile chip and nope Samsung One Ui isn't the easiest to customize a custom rom is.

macOS has advantages and disadvantages compared to Windows 11. Similarly, iOS also has advantages and disadvantages compared to Android/One UI. For many users, Apple offers the best out-of-the-box experience and Apple has by far the best ecosystem. This is because all Apple devices are based on the same core system: iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS, and macOS all work together perfectly because they all use the same account (Apple ID) and are based on the same software. This is something only Apple offers. There is no competition since Microsoft gave up on Windows Mobile and IOT.
