The iPhone comes with new features, but not all of them are truly innovative. Many of their features seem to be borrowed from Android, such as type C and app customization. Additionally, the iPhone quickly overheats.

In the screen protection part, I thought that Gorilla Glass Armor was better than Ceramic Shield, merely because it's newer. However, I have watched a drop test between these two phones, and the Gorilla Glass Armor completely shattered while the Ceramic Shield only suffered from two major points of damage. Secondly, I found a used iPhone 15 Pro Max at a great price. This makes me conclude that the iPhone 15 Pro Max is a better deal than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, regardless of whether they're used or new. This is due to them having similar specs, and the used iPhone I found was a lot cheaper than the new Galaxy S24 Ultra. Personally, I prefer the iPhone for many reasons such as software optimization and the more natural colors that the cameras capture, among other things.

photo and video camera goes to the s24 ultra. the only reason the 15 pro max's camera is better is because it is supported on way more third-party apps. as an example, apps such as TikTok and Snapchat limit the camera quality to 1080p for samsung and other android devices, while apple can record 4k quality. when the cameras are tested in their own camera apps, samsung is better overall.

No, you think that because you like that Samsung usually overexposes the images, while the iPhone's camera has more natural colors. So, like it or not, the iPhone's camera is better.

It doesn't have better battery life because of battery efficiency, but because it has a smaller screen and, more importantly, lower pixel density. You have to be impartial to see things more clearly.

There seems to be inaccuracies for the peak brightness test. Apple is not supposed to win, because Samsung changed their panels and is much brighter than Apple Retina displays.

What I've observed is that the prestige associated with the iPhone primarily comes from the brand name 'Apple'. However, it seems to pale in comparison to Samsung over the past few decades. Don't just focus on the brand name, examine the specifications. It appears that people have developed an obsession with Apple.

GTG February 27, 2024 at 10:39 PM
In the environment we find ourselves in today, people are more interested in the prestige, status, and branding associated with products rather than what the product can actually offer. This is particularly prevalent with technology, where individuals may wait out each year with bated breath for the release of the newest iPhone model, rather than opting for competing products with superior technical specifications. This phenomenon relies on societal ideologies that associate certain brands, like Apple, with luxury and higher social status. Instead of viewing a new Apple device and acknowledging its specifications and functionality, the typical reaction is more akin to "Oh my gosh, he's got the new (iPhone, Apple Watch, MacBook, etc.)!" Interestingly, Apple contributes to this sentiment by eschewing traditional product labels for their own brand-specific naming conventions. Instead of calling their devices "smartphones," "smartwatches," or "laptops," they are known by their branded names, furthering product recognition and brand reinforcement. Many argue that owning Apple products isn't just about the technology, but rather a lifestyle choice. This may well be the case, but the real question at hand is: how has Apple managed to convince society that ownership of their products equates to holding luxury in their hands?

GTG, as an answer to the last paragraph, the reason people are convinced they are holding "luxury" in their hands is simply because Apple has their own branded name for their smartphones. iPhones also simply look more luxurious. Sure, both the 15 series iPhones and S24 series Samsung phones have a titanium frame, a number of front cameras etc., but over the years apple was always the more expensive and luxurious brand. It also comes to all of the older phones, and the changes Apple has made. as an example, the iPhone X releasing with a full display (even though the galaxy s8 came out a couple of months beforehand), the headphone jack being removed on the 7 series iPhones, etc. Samsung has also made some very big revelations such as reverse wireless charging with the galaxy s4, the punch-hole front camera being introduced on the s10 series, the fingerprint scanner, and so on. But people didn't care as much, because Apple was always the more popular brand. The other reason Samsung revelations are not being more successful is purely because the changes were either unnecessary or didn't work properly at the time they were released, the fingerprint as an example back in 2013. It wasn't that Samsung wasn't always in front of Apple, it was because Apple was, and is more popular. That's why people believe they are holding luxury in their hands when owning a new iPhone. It isn't because of the differences or benefits or looks, its simply because Apple is more popular, and always have been. It has always been the case. It's not like you see people celebrating over the fact that the S22-24 Ultra has an S Pen, or that the Xiaomi 13-14 Ultra's back camera is the shape of a circle, because they simply aren't as popular. I rest my case.

I've never been an Apple fan before, and there are several reasons for this. People often claim that iPhones are simple to operate, but that hasn't been my experience. I usually find myself a bit lost while undertaking several tasks on a friend's iPhone. Furthermore, while iPhones might have superb hardware, the glass backing for its price makes me question the durability. Wouldn't a metal back lend more credibility to its reputation as a steadfast device? However, when comparing Apple’s latest flagship device, the 15 Pro Max, to Samsung's S24 Ultra, I'm perplexed as to why people would harshly critique the former. To me, the 15 Pro Max seems to offer considerable advantages - from its Grade 5 titanium to an outstanding battery life. This has made me rethink my initial position and vote accordingly.

When discussing titanium grading, it is a common misconception that Grade 2 titanium is cheap. Grade 2 titanium is characterized as "commercially pure," boasting significant lightweight and corrosion-resistant properties. However, it isn't as sturdy as certain alloys such as Grade 5.

How can you assert that the S24 Ultra has a shorter battery life than the 15 Pro Max and S23 Ultra? I kindly request you to retest this, because the device has excelled in all of our battery tests, conspicuously outperforming others. This device, with its unbeatable battery life, runs for a full day during intensive use and can last up to two days under medium use. With normal or light use, it might even last for more than two days. How are you testing this superior device and getting results that infringe on its rightful place among mid-range performance devices?

Could you please redo these tests? I've tested both phones myself and found the Samsung Galaxy Ultra to have equal battery life on the highest resolutions. Moreover, when the Samsung is in FullHD+ mode, it outperforms the iPhone, and this is consistent even after weeks of testing. I greatly appreciate this site, but the bias against Samsung needs to stop. A camera score of 84 points? A battery score of 80 points? Is this some kind of joke, Nanoreview? I'm convinced this phone wasn't properly tested. It seems like you've evaluated the wrong model, which mirrors the supposed "results" for the S23 Ultra, known for its quick battery depletion. It's essential to maintain a professional standard and refrain from misleading potential buyers. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra outshines the iPhone 15 Pro Max in every aspect. Especially after Samsung's day one patch to fix camera noise, it far surpasses the iPhone in terms of photo quality. Don't get me wrong, I admire the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but it's just inferior in comparison.

I agree, people have developed an obsession with apple and there is a bias against Samsung. People just walk away from Samsung and goes to apple.

DxOMark and many reviews suggest that the S24U's primary strength lies in its display quality.

Anonymousdude, Wrong. Many people hate Apple. That's why they instantly think that the iPhone is going to lose in any aspect. Most people see only what's on paper. They see facts like Samsung's 5000mAh battery outlasting iPhone's 4441mAh one, or Samsung's 200MP camera barely outperforming iPhone's 48MP one.

Why deny the facts? Even DxOMark says it has a better battery: https://www.dxomark.com/smartphones/#sort-battery

Nano, Yeah, not just that, but also software optimization. That's why iPhones usually outperform Android phones in battery life.

How is it possible that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has 42 percent better battery life than the S24 Ultra? The battery life test must be inaccurately reported. It's essential to run the test again.

Yes, the camera should score over 90 points and must be able to record 4K at 120 FPS. How can the S23 Ultra get more points over the S24 Ultra?

iPhones are often deemed best for those preferring simplicity. Some of the limitations of iPhones are glaringly obvious: limited features, a dated design, and an eye-wateringly high price tag. It's apparent that Apple has not been the innovative giant it's often made out to be, often borrowing numerous features and concepts from others throughout its history. It's high time we stop pretending and put an end to the blind adoration of Apple. It's well-known that once touted as an incredibly optimized product, the iPhone now significantly underperforms when compared to some of its Android counterparts. Its prime competitor is without a doubt, the Samsung Galaxy. To me, using an iPhone in the present day appears to be more about brand loyalty, rather than owning a device replete with a multitude of features. Wake up, everyone. Is it really that burdensome to transition to a more extensive feature-packed, modern operating system? If that's the case, then of course, remain within the familiar comfort of your Apple device. It matters little to us.

"It matters little to us," said the man who was typing out an essay about why Samsung is good, and why Apple users are 'sheep'. I'm by no means an Apple fan, but nobody except you guys care about the spec sheet. Most people buy an iPhone simply because it's familiar and reliable.

Folks, I understand that the S24 Ultra is still in its early stages. However, please keep in mind that as of now, in 2024, iPhones are outselling Samsung phones!

If the iPhone is so good, why do they purchase their screens from Samsung? They are using Samsung Galaxy S2 screens for the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Anonymous, The Guardian. Apple has surpassed Samsung to become the world's leading smartphone seller, ending the South Korean tech firm's 12-year reign at the top of the industry. The iPhone manufacturer clinched the top spot in 2023, selling 234.6 million units, according to statistics provided by the International Data Corporation (IDC). This surpassed Samsung's sales figures, which stood at 226.6 million units. IDC attributed Apple's ascendancy, which followed the release of the iPhone 15 in September, to several trends. These included a surge in the popularity of high-end devices, which now make up more than 20% of the global market. For further information, please refer to their official website. Thomas Hazell, We don't mind if you choose to purchase an iPhone solely based on its brand. Keep yapping, but we make our decisions based on specs, camera quality, and other features. Samsung has an ecosystem that's larger than Apple's. They've even manufactured tanks and airplanes. Even though you point out that, as of 2024, iPhones are outselling Samsung phones, that won't change our minds. We don't use the Apple ecosystem, so why should we invest in an iPhone? If you prefer iPhone, that's perfectly fine. But there's no need to force people to switch their phone preferences, and it isn't fair to judge people based on the phone brand they possess. It's as if some of you are willing to sell your soul just for a brand of phone.

Does NanoReview simply reference specs from other sites? It appears they are not aware that Snapdragon employs a 1+5+2 configuration.

Why is the iPhone recommended when the S24 Ultra appears superior in many aspects? Is it because of the software? The S24 Ultra still has 7 years of promised updates. The few categories quoted don't seem to justify the recommendation of the iPhone.

There is an incorrect sentence in the "Reasons to Consider the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max" section. It states that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will receive more software updates from Apple. However, Apple only supports their devices for 5 years, unlike Samsung. Starting with the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung will be supporting their phones for 7 years! That’s 2 years longer than Apple's support, which is amazing!

Uh, no, you're wrong. It's actually 6 years or maybe 7 years because there are speculations the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max will receive iOS 18. That's why maybe 7 years for the iPhone as well.

Hello, there appear to be a number of issues with the data. It seems that the Nanoreview developers haven't utilised the actual S24 Ultra, resulting in a number of 'N/A' entries for most of the significant details. This problem extends further when comparing it with other phones, like iPhone 15 Pro Max vs Google Pixel 8 Pro. The incomplete data set for the S24 Ultra leads to an unfair advantage for the iPhone. Given the benchmarking tests, it's pretty clear that the S24 Ultra performed better, and that too with a lower price tag of $669.

The aspects of the Samsung S24 Ultra are better in every way, but it's just the N/A entries keep it at bay.

Hello, there seem to be some inaccuracies in the specifications for the S24 Ultra. Notably, the glass protection is not just Corning Gorilla glass. It is, in fact, Corning Gorilla Glass Armor, which is more durable than Victus 2. Furthermore, the S24 Ultra comes with 1GHz, not 770MHz. Please check and correct these errors in the comparison.
