sorry i didn't make this into one message because I forgot to mention that the s25 ultras screen quality isn't as high as it may seem. its using old 8 bit technology and as absolutely no right to have a score as high as a 97 imo. for example the display they use an 8 bit display which only shows 16 million colours and most phones today use 10 bit displays that show a little bit over a billion. not to mention the bad pwm on the s25 ultra's display that could hurt a lot of peoples eyes. i also believe the 16 pro max's antutu score is a little bit low and should be raised by a tiny bit

Alex, All Samsung really had going for them was sensor resolutions. But iPhone just had larger sensors and pixel sizes. If you do photography, you would know that the priority is sensor size and pixel size for light intake. Not saying the Samsung is bad, just saying that the iPhone isn’t bad

Guys, I don't know why all these comments. It is very easy: Samsung has a better camera with better software (at this point, no one can say no), and this fact Snapdragon 8 Elite > 18 Pro by a big difference, and Samsung has a sharper display with 7 years Android upgrade as it can reach OneUI 11 in the future. Regarding the battery, iPhone is too bad, so Samsung S25 Ultra is the winner this year.

Actually S25 Ultra will reach the One UI 14 update, while this 16 Pro Max would only get highest 5-6 updates, which goes to iOS 23-24 maximum. So, Samsung gets updates as long as 2032 January, while iphone only reaches 2029 September to 2030.

LGs but evil March 12, 2025 at 05:34 PM
Adiyan, this is highly incorrect, if you look at the iPhone x series they are still getting updates and the S24 ultra is barely getting one UI 7 let alone the S23 ultra, maybe they'll get Android updates not one UI. and plus in a year you'll have to start paying for features found on the S25 Ultra which imo is a really bad look.

LGs but evil, Thats all false information too. The X doesnt receive OS updates anymore. Its on IOS 16 rn. The XS and XR are also probably on there last current major OS updates. Also the extra toiletpaper literally promises 7 years of major OS and 7 years of security updates.

LGs but evil, No, i think he's right. Every year, there is an android update and a one ui update is automatically done alongside that. S24 ultra is delaying cuz it needs some more optimizations and will certainly be released this year. This year, one ui 7 was a very major update so it took time. Promise is promise, it MUST and WILL get 7 years of android os / one ui updates. Talking about iphone x, that is not ios 18 update. It just gets security updates regularly, they are not major updates. So does Samsung's one ui and other androids

L?gS, At the camera, we can say they are equal (but I think Samsung is better because 200 MP is not easy to defeat). Battery life? Really, bro? The iPhone is known for its bad battery. And don't forget SD 8 Elite > 18 Pro.

youssef, raw performance in one thing, iOS is so optimized it isn't even fair that the A18 pro is still on par with Qualcomm and MT. if you look at grid legends the 16 Pro Max easily beats the S25 Ultra and even the RM 10 pro. if you look at wuwa Genshin zzz ect the same fate happens to the S25 Ultra. As for battery life the Iphone 16 pro max has the longest general battery life at 35 hours and 28 hours excluding standby out of the average. and still Samsung is using old tech for their screens, 8 bit technology that only shows 16 ish million colours compared to the billion on 10 bit screens

LGs, I know Samsung has many cons, but at the same time, the iPhone has cons, like: weaker processor (and this is real), Super Retina is not better than Samsung. Samsung has just one con: the IP is not IP98, but overall Samsung has many pros like: the strongest software, most powerful AI, 7 years of updates, and a strong camera with a strong processor. Overall, the two phones are not bad.

youssef, I wouldn’t say it has the best software because its android (no hate just not optimized as much as iOS and I know that you can do a lot more things on android) but more like the Ui is better. I like one UI 7 and I agree with you both phones arent bad but i also want to add both companies at the moment are being shadowed by chinese companies which is great since competition is always great.

Jesus, It helps a ton with color banding (I'm pretty sure that's the name, not 100% sure). With 8-bit, it's a lot more noticeable than displays with 10-bit. Yes, the screen is good, but is it worthy of being the best when other phones have higher refresh rates, higher brightness, better PWM, and even 12-bit screens? (I think) No. The only thing special about Samsung's display is the upscaling and the anti-reflective display, which will just be removed after you put on a screen protector.

Adiyan, Wuwa, genshin, grid legends, bgmi, and considering every AAA games optimised for iPhone's metal api? Like heck, also the temps of s25U is so bad compared to its predecessor and iPhone's has to better cooling that is previous 15pro max models, I think samsung has just degraded their phones but in terms of performance I think samsung has better edge, camera is equal, (but according to youtube iPhone-16-Pro-Max has better camera than s25U) (mr who the boss and marques brownlee). Also the 8bit screen is crazy for 2025, those screen are outdated in like 2021-2022 ig. But yeah not to mention apple intelligence is just dumb compared to Samsung's ai. So ig is pretty much of a tie.

LGs’ evil twin, I don't know if it's just your grammar, but the DLSS won't be removed because of a screen protector. Just use an anti-reflective compatible protector if you want to keep it. Note the 16 Pro screen is made by Samsung, so they could just add 12-bit when they wanted and probably even more stuff, but things are expensive enough as it is, so why do people still want more?

Jesus, Your paying over $1200 for a phone while there are phones for much cheaper that could offer you 10-bit and 12-bit displays. Its not that its expensive, they are greedy. Not saying apple is any less greedy or any company for that matter but still, c’mon samsung

Both of these phones suck this year. They're literally a copy of last year's phones. There's nothing new or special about them. Imagine removing Bluetooth from the S Pen. Imagine adding a new, useless camera control button. Imagine upgrading the ultra-wide camera only in Samsung. Imagine keeping the same charging speed in the iPhone. And finally, imagine releasing both phones with very high prices while there are other cheap replacements with better prices. Whoever buys the S25 Ultra as their main phone while having the S23/S24 Ultra, or the iPhone 16 Pro Max while having the 14/15 Pro Max, is a very crazy person who wants to waste their money. Instead of always following Samsung and Apple, why don't you guys try the other insane companies? Vivo X200 Pro (or wait for the Ultra), Xiaomi 15 Ultra, IQOO 13, OnePlus 13. All of them have the strongest chipsets (D9400 & SD 8 Elite), fantastic cameras, and very fast charging. Why don't you guys give them a shot?

yes , i agreed that there no many changes about the generation in Samsung and iPhone , but at all , they will still better than vivo and OnePlus, Samsung and iPhone are known by the impressive camera , with excellent ai features, and if you are talking about the charger , if someone buy Samsung s25 ultra like about 1400 dollars, cant he buy 10 dollar a charger (120w)? and overall samsung will still 1# phone at all the world, see the votes of this comprasion , iPhone 16 pro max have die

Exactly don't forget that hoyoverse(they're the ones who produce genshin and star rail) and apple are like sugar and tea so they favor iOS over android but then again iOS is more optimized than android why? Simply bcuz they're less iPhones than Android phones and it's easier to optimise iOS than Android due to android phones having different chips, and different architecture. Tl,dr: iPhone 16 pro max is better in camera, Gaming(due to optimisation) and slightly better battery life. Galaxy S25 Ultra is better in display, Software, connectivity, performance.

Even on the worse of Exynos 2400 I barely get over 40°C in CSR2 which is a game which supports 120 hz so the speculation of 55 is just pure apple glazing and a right out lie. Its not the power of the A18. Its optimization. Its not even apple doing the optimization. The App store just has way higher requirements than the Play store so app developers need to invest more time which apple does not cost a dime. Oh boy apples knows where to cut costs. Genshin on PS4 looks way better than both the S25 and iPhone 16 just cause its hella optimized while being much older hardware. If you tell your app developers to optimze more you just gonna end up with the EU having to tell you to stop your app monopoly. In the end does it does not matter as in areas where you actually use all the SoCs power like in emulation where the S25 is way ahead as Apple doenst even allow that.

The biggest downgrade in the history of Samsung is removing the Bluetooth features of the S-pen which was used for camera. It's really sad and disappointing now alot of people would not upgrade to the s25 series and would still stick with the s24 ultra. Though it's good that they finally used the snapdragon 8 elite and 12gb RAM on the whole s25 series and no longer Exynos 🤡

apple, From which angle it is more efficient...? It performs worse in every single way, and consumes more power... At this point, only Apple's 80hz refresh rate (which it keeps 90% of times, instead of 120, or 90...) and their software optimisation is what's allowing them to have good battery life... But even then, androids have started beating apple in that segment...

A great example of this is when the red magic 10 pro, praised for the greatest gaming phone got up to 47 degrees Celsius in an unoptimized WZM. Raw performance isn't as important now a days.

Serhii, I’m writing to bring to your attention an error in the Geekbench 6 scores for the S25 Ultra. If you visit the Geekbench Browser, you’ll notice that the Multi-Core Score is listed as 8658 and the Single-Core Score is 2481. These scores don’t match the ones shown here. To verify this yourself, search “samsung SM-S931N” on the Geekbench Browser.

Stef, Androids will almost always win in benchmarks these days, but real world performance? No, the s25 Ultra heats up more than s24 Ultra and in my opinion throttles more. And even with a vapor chamber time and time again samsung phones have been hotter than that of an Iphone with more throttling. Theres some games that the s25 ultra barely scratches 54 fps average with 41 degrees celius with an iphone hitting 60 fps average with 36-37 degrees celcius (the game is capped at 60 fps, if the game is uncapped it’ll get 90 ish fps with almost the exact same temperature as the s25 Ultra, also note the Iphone runs the game at a higher resolution)

user, What about gaming? Samsung socks in it. Your benchmarks prove nothing in real life performance. The actual 100% utilisation of S25Ultra's chipset can't be done with play store apps. While on the other hand App store has the support for like tens of apps that has the capability to utilise the power fully. Imagine 2 weightlifters (as proccessors) The powerful one is getting a task of lifting 100 kgs of weight even if it can lift 300kgs but the slightly less powerful weight lifter is getting a 200kg of weight when it can lift 250kg of weight maximum. Who do you think is going to win in real life scenarios? When Sd 8 elite isn't getting an app that utilises its power what's the ducking point of its all flashy benchmarks score? Huh?
