At end of the day, i can say this site is SLIGHTLY "ruined". A18 Pro and 8 Elite has 11 points of difference? What... R u crazy? A18 better than A18 Pro... A18 Pro worser than A16 Bionic... A18 Pro SAME AS Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 (which is slightly worser than A18 Pro) Well, good job. Δ°m quitting this site

While A18 pro single core 3400-3600, and multi core 8000-9700 is very impressive please note however that this boost is due to the Armv9 architecture against the 8 elite using the old Armv8

It's not architecture dependent when chip designers know what they're doing with custom designing the cores. Apple has always been ahead when it comes to single core performance while Qualcomm and Mediatek are always ahead on multi core performance compared to Apple. You just wanna convince others that your big favourite Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite didn't lose on something to meanie little Apple A18/Pro with any weak biased argument.

It is possible to give an m5 processor or m6 processor to a mobile device . Because it's based on TSMC 's upcoming 2nm and 1.6nm fabrication technology . These chips will be super efficient and super powerful .

Apple will not be having 2nm processer for M5, as revealed today. However, that doesn't mean that it won't arrive for iPhone.

If they do that they will waste money. Apple's M chips are just A chips with less TDP restraint due to more of the same CPU cores, and GPU cores.

Memory frequency is incorrect. This memory spec gives 120GB/s!! 100% increased!! Apple said it increased by 17%. So, Memory frequency is almost 3750MHz.

This score are very wrong. Geekbench states single core score 3400 and multicore score 8300-8400. Sadly it already lost to snapdragon 8 gen 4. Now we isheep would have to deal with the fact the android users would brag about the new cpu and GPU performance while running rdr2 and cyberpunk in their emulators. Big cores of both a18 pro & m4 are made with same instruction set & on same nodes. As, geekbench score of big core of m4 is 3767 @ 4.4 ghz, which is 3767/4.4= 856/ghz. So, geekbench score of big core of A18 pro will be 856Γ—3.89= 3329. Though, Refrigerator score might reach 3450. To clear it further, eg, M2 & a16 were made with same instruction set & on same node: Geekbench score of big core of M2 @ 3.49 ghz: 2650 i.e, 2650/3.49= 759/ghz. That is why geekbench score of big core of a16 @ 3.46 ghz=3.46Γ—759= 2627. Again refrigerator scores will be bit higher

Apple's upcoming A18 pro will continue as supreme as performance benchmark champion as it will edge out Qualcomm's snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and Media Tek's dimensity 9400. Also with Apple being a in-house manufacturer making both their hardware A18 pro and software iOS OS ensures the maximum hardware-software optimization and efficiency which naturally is better than Android based phones powered by Qualcomm or Media Tek since neither company produces the Android OS.

There is no point in adding more cores. Would hurt battery life and generate more heat, which is bad enough in the latest models. Plus, with 6 cores it is already the fastest phone CPU.

Joe, Wrong, wrong, wrong. A 2+6 layout would be more powerful and efficient than this because the e cores would be able to handle more tasks and reduce the need for p cores under normal use case increasing battery life and when performance is needed, all 8 cores can provide a big jump.

Keep in mind, that usually apple chipsets are kept secret, and they perform differently than leaks. As for A18, i am certain, that if Apple wants to beat Android, it needs to improve its gpu, which im certain will be the biggest improvement in A18. Other than that, from the leaks, I am a bit skeptical of the configuration and the overall performance. But needless to say, we can expect 3200+ singlecore and 8500+ multicore score from apple, based on their annual performance jumps.

Daniyal September 9, 2024 at 07:32 PM
I'd like to add to that, an improved cooling system, which is basically what holds back apple silicon, be it in iphones or ipads. Plus, the gpu improvements need to be massive because the 8 gen 4 is expected to get a MASSIVE gpu uplift as qualcomm is expected to use a new gpu design. For the cpu, single core would be on par with a17 pro while multi core will trade blows with apple M3!!
