The m1 has a gaming performance score of 97 and the a18 pro 96?? In gb6 we can see the a18 pro having better cpu and Metal capabilities. Even on AnTuTu it says the a18 pro is better.

I just want to say that with almost every iOS update the the GB6 scores will get higher. When the iphone 16 pro max was first launched a few months back I averaged around 8300-8400, now scores like 8800-8900 and even 9000 are becoming more common and with some scores reaching as high as 9400-9500 in gb6โ€™ Multi-Core Score

Incorrect... It only increased this time for A18 and A18 Pro during ios 18... But that wasn't the case all the time... With ios 16, the A17 Pro used to score 3000 single core points and 7800 multicore points and the A16 used to score 2800 single core points and 7200 multicore score... But during ios 17 it decreased significantly, with the A17 scoring around 2800 points in si

Oh, getting over 9100 is quite common for me. I conducted four Geekbench 6 tests, and three of those four tests achieved a score of over 9200 in the Multi-core section.

Serhii, you should either increase the score of the A18 Pro or decrease the score of the A18 in the gaming section. The A18 Pro has better gaming performance than the A18.

How is it possible that the A18 and A18 Pro have the same gaming performance? The A18 Pro has consistently outperformed the A18 in gaming.

Can someone please help me understand how the Rams score is so much higher on the a18 pro. And furthermore, this is actually more importantโ€ฆโ€ฆcan someone explain how the a 17 pro has higher ram scores than a18 pro. Even the a16 pro has better scores. Thank you.

Both A18 SoCs performance and efficiency cores are 3rd gen Everest and Sawtooth cores. And performance cores are clocked at 4.05 GHz and efficiency cores are clocked at 2.42 GHz for both A18 SoCs. Found this on Wikipedia. Bunch of other info is also there. Would be helpful to update it.

This is my first time seeing Apple is making 2 variants of processors in their smartphone. Unlike last 2 years the base series (14, 14 Plus, 15 and 15 Plus) are using 1 year old chipset and Pro series are using latest chipset. Now, they're using same chipset but the difference are A18 and A18 Pro. A18 will be putting on base series (16 and 16+) while A18 Pro will be putting on Pro series (16 Pro and 16 Pro Max). In their announcement, they just only announced 5 GPU cores on A18 and 6 GPU cores on A18 Pro and they didn't say more info about their processors including how many GB of RAM, what game does it supports and they just show all triple A games (like ray tracing support) on all iPhone 16 models regardless the base model or the pro model. And surprisingly, someone do a review on heavy gaming test like Genshin Impact, really surprised that the 16 Pro series not much overheat compared to last year 15 Pro series. I really hope that 16 series need some optimisation in the upcoming updates because I feel worried that someone having issues during their first batch of iPhone 16 series like camera hang, "hello" (welcome) screen loop and other bugs.

Hi, i see very minimal difference. Main is core speed =200MHz more on each of 4 cores which more shows that it is a same chip, only takt is higher. Intel did the same. When they were making chips and it didnโ€™t pass the quality and speed test, they disabled some cores and put them into the lower segment. When the chip quality was good to withstand the speed tweak, they just printed the logo from higher family series. Thus they were exactly same CPUs but slightly different quality pass parameters. And 3% in score difference is not significant. Also it is evident that manfucaturers cannot jump high now so they have to present even minimal differences as a significant progressโ€ฆ which is kinda sad.

Martin, Die shots show the A18 and A17 Pro are not the same. The A18 is smaller as it has smaller cache sizes compared to the A18 Pro and also a GPU core is not just disabled but completely removed. Regardless, the A18 is still better than the A17 Pro.

We got recently benchmark scores of both chips, the Geekbench numbers do seem on-par to the ones here. Im a little surprised that the regular A18's score is closer to the pro, a part of me was kinda expecting it to be more similar to the A17 Pro.

I don't think these scores are correct, because the A18 scores are nearly identical to the A16 Bionic and not more than the A17 Pro. They both should be closer.

Well they basically just updated the NPU from the A17 pro and made it as the A18... basically a partial rebranding.

Marorun, The A18 has the CPU of the A17 Pro with a newer set of instructions and the GPU of the A16, so the A18 is a rebranding of the A17 and A16.

Apple sucks, It's not a rebranding, the upgrade from A17 Pro to A18 and A17 Pro is quite good. Even the A18 which has 5-core GPU is better than the 6-core GPU of the A17 Pro.

akp831, The fact that the cores are at a higher frequency doesn't make it a different CPU.
