The Snapdragon 8 Elite (Gen 6 Pro) might see a drop in performance if you repeatedly run the AnTuTu benchmark for up to 30 minutes, given that the 5GHz speed is extremely high—and it would likely heat up quickly. Even Intel never uses 5GHz by default; this is just my personal opinion, though, as the real-world performance remains to be seen.

You have four-sided gate contact. Thermal efficiency should be improved 15-25% right out of the... gate... lol Anyways, those frequencies are rated for burst speeds, not sustained workloads. They aren't preparing users to treat their phones like actively cooled workstation computers just yet.

Clutch, So it's similar to Exynos 2600 that's explains it. tho it's Scores are very low compared to last gen that sucks but it's still early rumors about it, I think it will be better when it came out.

No this soc has 3 sliced Gpu to reduce heating issues so not necessarily it throttle or overheating like previous generation

Same cooling as previous gen, because this one wasnt forced at 3nm, and evolved to 2nm so heat was possibly dissipated

On non mature 2nm heat and performance instability will be a problem, as on any non mature node. Therefore Xring is a wise for choosing a well mature node.

Still no where near a gaming pc tho. Even a gtx 1650 can give better performance in gaming than an snapdragon 8 elite gen 6/6 pro

Dhruv, Lol they never even promote emulation, because they know the processor life will decrease faster if people use pc games emulation gpu cpu at 100°C. And btw even an gtx 1650 pc (200-250 dollars pc) can easily beat this snapdragon 8 elite gen 6 pro in pc games in performance. So I don't think it's needed to pay $1000 fpr 12/256 mobile for gaming. Buy a gaming handheld and attach a good camera to it, that's much better

Yash, You're comparing apples to flamingos, my friend. A dedicated desktop computer that can still run you hundreds of dabloons better outperform a smartphone. That's lower than the bare minimum.

You only have performance with a high wattage demand; it's still not enough to make your phone last for days playing light games or doing other things, and what's more, it will get very hot. So no. It's still not enough. Apple manages to be more efficient, but it still consumes energy to achieve that performance. Try playing a native PC game from the Apple Store and see... if it doesn't overheat...

Dhruv, No, they don't really listen, because the most important Thing for Emulation is the GPU. But the GPU from Snapdragon is so much weaker than the CPU. Even Xring 01 have so much more GPU Frequency and TFLOPS than Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6.

That 5 GHz figure is just to fool people and brag about Geekbench scores—you're looking at a +20watt power draw! In reality, games run at much lower frequencies—not exceeding 1.8 GHz on the biggest core—to ensure sustained performance with a reasonable power draw of around 5W, allowing for about 4 hours of gaming on a 20Wh battery.(5000mah)

Qualcomm should focus on GPU performance and power efficiency. The Exynos 2700 already beats the 8 Elite Gen 6 pro by 22% at 2.5 watts and by 5% in peak performance according to Samsung's own internal testing. The GPU in the Xring O3 can beat the last gen 8 Elite gen 5 at half the power. Chasing higher and higher Clock speeds is what killed Intel. Qualcomm really needs to focus on efficiency.

From my testings, a cpu with max 3.35Ghz speed games run at 2.6Ghz almost all of the time and only spikes to max clock in certain scenarios.
