that Xclipse550 was better than the Steamdeck iGpu and even better than the Base variant of Ryzen Z2 which is the Z2A and Z2go you'll find in Lenovo Legion Go S and Lower Variant of Xbox Ally... However Samsung badly manage the GPU with a lack of Driver support for the Vulkan, which compare to the Mali and Ardeno...the Xclipse is likely to get lose support more earlier... please Samsung STOP WASTING THE POTENTIAL OF XCLIPSE GPU!!!! also key note: Add_BCn_Vulkan_fullextensions_onExynos dont do emulation on Exynos with Amd Gpu for now๐Ÿ˜‚

If 1580=SD888 then 1680=SD888+ not an actual upgrade rather a must have refinement if only they didn't increase the price sure they upgraded the memory cuz they know they can increase the price

It's on par with the Exynos 2200, except GPU performance, which isn't that much better. Really good SoC, Samsung.

Better specs: (They should do this for Exynos 1780) - For CPU, 1x 3.2 GHz + 7x 2.4 GHz - For GPU, it needs at least 6 cores at this price. Seriously, 2 cores? They Dimensity 8450 has 7, that's 3.5x more.

Dimensity 8450 uses ARM's Mali graphics architecture while Exynos 1680 uses AMD's RDNA architecture for GPUs. Different architectures have other ways of specifications for cores/pipelines and shader core stuff. Basically saying they're incomparable.

GPU cores aren't representative of the performance. Otherwise the Mali G78 MP24 used in 2021 chips should be much better than any current chip right?

It seems it has 2 Work Group Processors (WGP), which would translate to 4 Cluster Units (CU). Each CU has 16 cores and each core would support 4 instructions / cycle. Thus, 2 x 2 x 16 x 4 = 256 shaders. Number of shaders is not that important (i.e. look at Intel UHD 770 - 256 shaders and iGPU in Panther Lake with 2 Xe cores (still 256 shaders) - almost double the performance).

There's a mistake here. Samsung always talked about AI optimization on its own website, and also Gemini said Exynos 1680 have AI-powered performance enhancements. However, when I watched YouTubers, 3D Wildlife Extreme Stress had 97% or 93% stability.

I do have doubts about "Gaming Performance". Samsung says it's a 15% improvement for both CPU and GPU. That means it would score ~ 1500 points in 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme, which is fairly low. Xclipse 540 scored ~ 1300. I think Adreno 722 in SD 7 Gen 4 is much better.

1.380M Antutu 11 score? Exynos 1580 already has 1.230-1.280M score, the improvement is only 100K, barely 10% increase. Would be better if Exynos 1680 is more efficient than its predecessor.

Its because they didn't increase the clock speed this time.

There's barely any improvement on its single core performance. Even it's overall performance could be similar to it's predecessor

Yeah. They should have gone with 2 Cortex A725 at 3.4 ghz + 4 cortex A725 at 3.0 ghz + 2 Cortex A520 at 1.95 ghz... That would have allowed it to have amazing performance. But samsung as always is too reluctant to spend money and improve stuff...

Phenro, That's a bit exaggerated, with these settings it would be competing directly with the S25 Fe, could be a 2+6 architecture (2 Cortex A725 at 3Ghz and 6 Cortex A725 at 2.4Ghz), 1500+ single and 5000+ Multi.
