From what I understand, for gaming, the Ryzen 5 8645HS is basically equal to the Ryzen 7 8845HS if you have a laptop with a graphics card. The graphics card handles the frame rate, so a few extra threads in the processor does not really matter.

it does matter, not by much though, the recent titles are very cpu intensive unlike previous games, while for the rest of the works like media, editing unless 4k blender, programming they will be mostly on par, ryzen 7 is more future proof whereas ryzen 5 will provide better battery due to lower core counts, the igpu is also better on ryzen 7 not by much as shown in the benchmark but does give ryzen7 an advantage
