The RYZEN 5 8645HS is far better compared to the price and features of the Ryzen 7 7840HS. Apart from the fact that, if you are a 3D designer, you can opt for the latter, but for gaming purposes, the first one with a better GPU can do wonders.

You're wrong, 7840 has a 780 graph, and 8645 has a 760 graph. 7840 is closer to 8845.

R5 8gen isn't that far behind, but if you really want extra cores then R7 prev gen is the way to go. But if power efficiency and solid performance is needed then the R5 8gen is perfect IMO.
