I definitely choose the Core Ultra chip, not because of where it is now, but rather because of where I can see it going. The only place where it lags behind the i9 is in the multi-core scores; but even then, not by a lot. A surprising thing that I see here is that the Core Ultra isn't as power efficient as I thought it would be. If the Core Ultra is already this close to the i9, then it is only a matter of time before the i9 is rendered obsolete. Also, the graphics power of the Core Ultra is superb, which is a significant improvement over the i9.

How does the graphics power matter much if the laptop is constantly connected to power and one has a dedicated GPU?

Abhisek, Spot on. One is for games, the other for heavy work duties.

Braga, The core ultra 9 laptops are much more portable than their 14900hx counterparts. They have smaller power bricks and are thinner overall. Much more targeted at the college student or someone who travels with their laptop a lot. The ultra 9 wins on battery life.

Abhisek, it wouldn't. nobody should be buying a 185H laptop purely for using it plugged in and for gaming. we already know that. but it has significantly better battery life. So if someone needs to carry their laptop around and doesn't feeling like carrying a heavy charger and plugging it in every time they're in class taking notes, it would be a much better choice.
