The cache difference between them is crazy sure the 275hx has the edge in performance but that cache difference will reduce the drops in 1% lows making the 9955hx3d more smoother esp when streaming the game. Intel should really take learn something here and focus more on smoother performance and consistency than just brute force raw performance to close the gap

I would go for the 275hx the jump in performance is not huge with the amd option as your gpu is usually the bigger bottleneck. If you run more than a 10 hours a week on battery the lower idle power draws on Intel are a huge win when it comes to battery life. For instance, students who take their laptops to class will greatly benefit as usually they are just sitting in class on a web browser or some other light task. Here the intel cpu will be sipping sub 15watts and the fans likely wonโ€™t even need to run. With the amd option on the other hand youโ€™re going to be pulling double in the same situation, fans will be going, and youโ€™ll struggle more trying to get through the day without plugging in the charger to top up which means more wear and tear on the battery. If you really want to double down on gaming performance you should just be looking at the x3d option in order to see more substantial gains. Regardless, your biggest bottleneck is usually still the gpu and vram. Intel wins this sector of the mobile market. The chips just have more range and allow your laptop to actually do laptop things.

AMD is works great too actually. they both still sucks at battery. but amd might be had a slight advantage when on charger since its boost doesn't as high as intel. on battery it's doesn't really matter, intel often on Tau/PL2 even on battery when opening apps, both are high performance mobile cpu so its naturally draw more power, efficiency isn't it's selling point. but why would you use high performance dan thick laptops for college or school, just build yourself a pc and bring an ultrabook for campus its actually more makes sense. Gaming everywhere like they said is more like gaming whenever you found outlets.

I would pick the Ultra 9 275hx every single day! They both are pretty much equal in gaming; however, Intel is slightly weaker than AMD in scientific performance (best scenario 20%). BUT!! In terms of power efficiency: the AMD chip draws more power from the wall, like 20% more than Intel. (I don't think that would matter much). On battery, we already know both suck so hard! But Intel has more than a 100% edge over AMD, which is humongous! Since it's a laptop CPU, that means a lot to me! You may use the laptop occasionally without a charger, so that's something! Jarrod made a detailed comparison on both identical laptops! Please see for yourself!

Intel has less performance cores, 16 efficiency and use 8 perfomance cores, risen has more uniform 16 performance cores

AMD is good, but there are too many problems with iGPU. Won't recommend. Just Google Radeon 610M glitches. Has issues with WhatsApp and sometimes video playback.

I would choose AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX or AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, any time! iGPU is NOT relevant in this segment of CPUs
