But would you risk 4-5K just for price but at the cost of warranty issues and serviceability.

anonymous, I'd rather have a bigger battery, cheaper price, and superior stock rom instead of having warranty and service. Not everyone lives in India to get the Indian variant anyways

u28272uw, The Chinese rom may not have poco launcher, but it also lacks andorid auto and google quick share or airdrop. You cannot even open the bootloader anymore on Chinese devices so you are stuck with it permanently. It also tends to close apps for no reason making the 16gb memory nigh useless. An s10 will do a better job at background process and general ram management than HyperOS CN ever will. Not to mention the firebase issues, which causes messages from apps like discord to arrive with 10 mintues latency if the apps is not perma running. This makes me wonder if the 1000mah battery difference makes the redmi any better since in exchange it wastes more battery on constantly relaunching apps or if you force it then to keep your apps running at all time. Then we also have the possibly privacy nightmare. If you use the EU rom then you are protected by gdpr. Chinese roms however are subject to the Chinese rules instead, which hardly has a concept of privacy.
