It's hard to believe, but the Dimensity 9300 is rapidly catching up with Apple's M series chipset. Perhaps once Dimensity 9400 is released, and the Geekbench 7 and Antutu V11 benchmarks are available, the Dimensity could be on par with the Bionic A18, or even the Apple M3 to M5 on Geekbench. This might result in MediaTek dominating the Antutu scores once again, while the Bionic and Apple M series chipsets strive to match its score.

Apple's M2 nearly got outperformed by MediaTek's Dimensity 9300 on Geekbench, utilizing only 1 Cortex X4 core that was clocked at 3.25GHz. Imagine the potential if it had been overclocked, and if they changed the Oryon to: 1 Cortex X4 = 3.55GHz 2 Cortex X4 = 3.35GHz 2 Cortex A720 = 3.25GHz 3 Cortex A720 = 3.15GHz This would certainly consume more power, but it could be worth it to surpass Apple's M2 and only attain their M3.

Perhaps it's not just about consuming more power, but also generating more heat, which may affect performance stability.

Dred Schlicht, Power consumption won't be as high as apple's M series though

Person, The M series is designed for Mac and iPad, not for the iPhone, with 20 watts TDP. I still get 9-12 hours of screen-on time on my iPad Pro M2 11. If it is consuming more power โ€” say, around 7-8 watts โ€” it can generate heat more easily due to a smaller back surface. Additionally, the battery screen-on-time will be awful.
