Exynos 2400 is a good processor from samsung . If this processor was launched at the time of 8 gen 2 , it could have changed our thought towards Exynos . The overheating problem in this processor fixed . Now it is between 8 gen2 and 8 gen 3 , better than 8 gen2 but not better than 8 gen3 .

The 8 Gen 3 has 6 cores (at least according to how software reads it, otherwise it could also be 3 or 12 but definitely not 2). Also, the architecture of both GPUs are different so core count is irrelevant. This is GPU anyway so it doesn't matter if both have identical performance even with the core count difference as unlike CPUs which can benefit with fewer but more powerful cores, GPUs are designed for parallel processing.

Snapdragon fan boys will cry about how bad Dimensity chips as if Exynos and Tensor chips don't exist. Competition is always good. Even if the 8 Gen 3 is truly better than the 9300, y'all can't deny the fact that it is still more efficient than the 2400 and the upcoming G4.

i totally agree with you, having used both sd 8 gen 3 and MTD 9300, i can say both are really good performers, although i did notice that some games like genshini impact work well on both while other games like Minecraft give better performance on sd 8 gen 3, MTD 9300 is very good at power efficiency (i was sceptical). compared to the othere chips in market these too are really good, i still think sd 8 gen 3 is refined, but both are good.

What do you expect? When the SD 8 gen 3 has core configurations that clearly look inferior to that of the Dimensity 9300, why would it not consequently under perform? Snapdragon has some really serious work to do if they must pull off a lead over Mediatek. This is similar to what we saw back in 2015 when they released the SD 810. Exynos lorded over them all year long with that. Even their next release, in the SD 820, could not out perform the Exynos 7420. Kudos to Mediatek for taking the lead! I hope Snapdragon can begin to see how hot the race for number one has gotten, and then sit up and double down on their manufacturing, to give us something that will slingshot them back to top spot. That is, if Apple doesn't decide to end the race entirely like what they did in 2016 with the release of the iPhone 6s and its groundbreaking A9 chip at the time. Well, fingers crossed, mobile technology is always a fun and interesting piece to me. No one can be too sure what's going to happen. Mediatek leading the pack has been a long time coming. Cheers to the ever riveting world of technology!

Agreed. After all, competition does benefit us customers in the long run. Be it Qualcomm, MediaTek, or Apple, they've made many products that offers a wide range of features that power some of the best devices across various price ranges. I'm currently using a phone that uses a Dimensity 8050 (which is technically a rebranded 1300), and it performs great with normal day to day usage. I'm considering buying a phone powered by the 9300 (if there's one in the Philippines) in the future once I've saved up enough money. I want to experience for myself the best from a company that has come a long way from being mostly focused on low end and midrange phones to powering some of the best flagships / flagship killers

Khaos, I recommend you buy a Redmi K70 Ultra or the exclusive Extreme Edition (if you're open-minded to experiencing HyperOS). No other phone can compete with it except for dedicated gaming phones like Red Magic or ROG. It especially excels at CPU demanding tasks including open world titles.

Try to show only CPU+GPU score in the Antutu slot of your demonstration. Memory and UX are kind of useless and those scores never matter. The combination of CPU+GPU scores will prove how powerful the SOC is.

Memory affects performance. If you compare 2 phones with the same SoC but has different RAM size (12 MB vs 16 MB) or RAM technology (LPDDR5X vs LPDDR5T) they wont perform the same.

Can anyone tell me why MediaTek adds main camera resolution 1x320MP? Why? Did any one of you find any 320MP camera phone until now? If no, then tell me why they add this kind of nonsense to their process. They could instead add a new gaming chip or something else that is useful.

They didn't add it, it's what their processor is capable of. You don't understand this info, you seem new to this. Don't worry, with more study you will understand. It is not as easy to just add a gaming chip to a processor. A lot of R&D goes on behind the curtains that you never know, nor will you comprehend its complexity without proper knowledge. This SOC no doubt has some issues, but it is still a beautiful piece of another manmade marvel. If I don't stop this now, I'll end up typing an entire novel. Have a nice day.

Dimensity 9300 is truly an amazing SoC. It wipes the floor with everything else on the market. I hope Mediatek does not abandon this "All Out" CPU philosophy in the next generation. We need this kind of power to fight Apple. The ARM efficiency cores simply do not compare to the competition.

You guys should separate L3 Cache and System Level Cache. The official Dimensity 9300 webpage says 18 MB of L3 Cache plus SLC. Both should be separated as they are different, L3 cache is shared among CPU cores while SLC is shared among different components in the SoC including the CPU and GPU. The Dimensity 9300 has 8 MB of L3C while having 10 MB of SLC. While, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 has 12 MB of L3C and 6 MB of SLC.

In terms of raw performance, the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 would win. While the Mediatek 9300 may have higher frequencies, its CPU cores are not as efficient or capable as the ones found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen3. Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 has more cores which give it an overall better performance when it comes to running games. Additionally the Adreno 750 GPU found in the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 is more powerful than the GPU on the Mediatek 9300, allowing for higher-end graphics and rendering.

None of your statements make sense. You seem to be strongly biased. Not only does 8 Gen 3 actually have less capable cores overall, it also has the same amount of CPU cores. 8 Vs 8. Finally, the GPU in Dimensity 9300 is proven to be more capable than the Adreno 750. All benchmarks lean towards it by quite a significant margin and gaming performance agrees with these findings too. Snapdragon is not the king this year. Accept it.

Jay, 8 Gen 3 is, in fact, underperforming always. It's come near equal only because most apps are optimized for Snapdragon. Otherwise, the same happened to Dimensity; apps optimized for 9300 and not for 8 Gen 3. We felt a huge difference in performance always.

There are more factors to consider including L2 cache, L3 cache, and SLC. The cores of the 8 Gen 3 and the 9300 are incomparable. The prime X4 of the 8 Gen 3 has 2MB of L2 cache and is bigger, while the prime X4 of the 9300 only has 1MB of L2 cache and is smaller. That's why the 8 Gen 3 is better in single-core benchmarks even if both the 8 Gen 3 and the 9300 are clocked at the same frequency. And, the other three X4s of the 9300 don't act like a true (big) prime core. Each of the three X4s only has 512 KB of L2 cache with a size similar to the A720 of the 8 Gen 3, while having better performance; so, in reality, they act more like a "mid" core, with performance that's between the X4 (of both the 8 Gen 3 and the 9300) and the A720 of the 8 Gen 3. Lastly, the four A720s of the 9300 act as something in between the true "mid" A720 (of the 8 Gen 3) and the A520 of the 8 Gen 3. Each has only 256 KB of L2 cache compared to the 512 KB of shared L2 cache of the two merged A520 cores of the 8 Gen 3, and each core is also about the same size as the two merged A520 cores of the 8 Gen 3. So the CPU cores of the two are said to be different, it's actually X4 (8G3)> X4 (9300)> (3)X4 (9300)> A720 (8G3)> A720 (9300)> A520 (8G3). Ultimately, both companies utilized ARM's core designs differently. The 8 Gen 3 has better performance and efficiency at lower clock speeds while the 9300 has better performance and efficiency at higher clock speeds. The battery life of the Vivo X100 with the 9300 proves that it is just as capable as the 8 Gen 3. I don't understand how the 9300 is worse due to the higher clock speeds when the 8 Gen 3 has the higher clock speeds. The Mali G720 Immortalis MP12 also has better performance efficiency in GFXBench both in 1080p and 1440p. The most important factor in determining which is better right now is optimization.

The NightShot, "Finally, the GPU in Dimensity 9300 is proven to be more capable than the Adreno 750." Nah, bro, the 3D Wildlife performance test says otherwise. Though the Immortalis have high frequency, Adreno is still much more efficient.

altf4, 3D WildLife performance test is affected by factors such as the heat dissipation system and conservative power and thermal limits set by OEMs. And comparing the GPU frequency is useless as both don't even use the same architecture. In the end comparing phones instead of the SoC is what's important but even then if you compare the 2 in benchmarks with newer APIs the Immortalis-G720 MP12 is actually better than the Adreno 750 meaning that if both are used in laptops chips the Immortalis would have the better performance

Do you really think MediaTek will just sit there and watch things happen? Of course not, especially considering benchmarks in 2024. They've simply beat Snapdragon by offering an overall higher value of 8%. And when Snapdragon soon rolls out the 4th Gen 4, MediaTek also plans to unleash the 9400+. So, once again, it looks like Snapdragon is poised to watch their defeat! 😂

Although Media Tek's dimensity 9300 does outperform qualcomm's 8 Gen 3 in many of those performance charts, I prefer to remain a Qualcomm loyalist since Qualcomm is the more established and reputable company with a longer history of excellence. What impresses me a lot is that my dated Google pixel 5 powered by qualcomm's 765G still performs good coupled by the majority of softwares are better optimized for Qualcomm than the competition.

Rajan Chaudhary, I wish I could use a phone powered by the Dimensity 9300 and compare it with one powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Although the Dimensity 9300 has scored slightly higher in CPU and GPU benchmarks than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, I think a phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 might perform better because games and apps are better optimized for Snapdragon processors. That being said, I wouldn't mind using a Dimensity 9300-powered phone, such as the Vivo 100/100 Pro. Samsung fabricated both the Snapdragon 888 and the 8 Gen 1 based off 5nm and 4nm respectively, and it didn't really age well. Dear Nano Review Team, It's high time you take the initiative to rearrange the true and accurate scores of chipsets in 2024. It has come to my attention that the initial 10-15 chipsets were given an unfair advantage with perfect GPU scores. I plea to you to mirror this flaw by presenting the actual results or scores of all chipsets, ensuring they are correct, by revising their Antutu and Geekbench scores. Thank you.

The shading units and shaders play a significant role as they form the core framework of the GPU. The 8th generation 3 has 5 times more of these units. However, the Dimensity 9300 can compete effectively due to its higher clock speed.

Nimit, The Dimensity 9300 has 12 shader cores. Each shader cores has 2 Execution Units and although the exact ALUs(shaders) are not provided by Arm I think in FP32 each shader core has 128 ALUs so the total would be 1535 ALUs. As for the 8 Gen 3, it has 6 cores(at least according to how software reads it) each with 256 ALUs in FP32 totaling 1536 ALUs the same with the 8 Gen 2. Comparing GPUs based on frequency or core count is useless if they don't share the same architecture. Y ou can take the Bionic A14 and the Snapdragon 888 as an example as they are release on the same generation, the 4 core Apple GPU with a total of 512 ALUs is a generation ahead of the Adreno 760 with a 3 core (each core has 256 ALUs) GPU containing 768 ALUs (Although I think the Samsung fabrication didn't show the Adreno 760's potential but still, the Apple GPU should still be better). Or the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the A156 Bionic, the 5 core Apple GPU is clocked at 1398 MHz while the Adreno 750 is clocked at 680 MHz yet the Adreno is better than the Apple GPU. In the end what matters is the end performance.

The Adreno 750 is clearly superior to the Immortalis G720. For context, the Vivo X100's GPU score is only 899,989. Meanwhile, the iQoo Neo 9 Pro's score is even lower at 877,425. The Red Magic exceeds both in performance, with its GPU scoring 910,673 points in Antutu. Surprisingly, it seems that LPDDR5T is not a significant upgrade from DDR5X – it's only about 10,000 points lower in Antutu. Despite these comparisons, I still believe that Snapdragon is the best. By the way, I'm skeptical about the use of 4 Cortex X cores in the D9300. I trust the reliability of the 4 A720 cores far more, especially considering the clocking rates of the Cortex X cores - one is clocked at 3.25Ghz and the others at 2.85Ghz. I am uncertain of how exactly the three Cortex X cores will function because, in theory, one Cortex X core should be enough to handle heavy graphical video games. I'm left wondering what the other three are truly meant for.

I believe the GPU score of the Dimensity 9300 has reached 910,000 on Antutu. But when you consider the Red Magic 9 Pro/Pro+, which is tailored specially for gaming and includes a superior cooling mechanism as well as 24 GB LPDDR5X RAM, it wouldn't be shocking if it has an Antutu score that surpasses those phones operating with a Dimensity 9300. In addition, apps and games are normally optimized for Snapdragon phones. Therefore, while the Dimensity 9300 might achieve a higher score in GPU benchmarking, the gaming performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 could still be superior. However, I do hold hope for future changes. Mediatek's SoCs are typically less expensive than Snapdragon SoCs, so I have high hopes that Dimensity processors become the preferred choice of OEMs for their devices.

They simply do not have the same operating system designed for games, nor a cooling system for the processor. Therefore, please be mindful before making such comparisons!

I've spent a significant amount of time studying CPUs and GPUs. With complete certainty, I can state that this is not how it typically functions - regardless of whether you appreciate this fact or not. The processor would invariably consume more energy or generate more heat. Do you recall the impact caused by the ROG Phone 6d Ultimate on the ROG Phone 6 Pro? When MediaTek launches a CPU, not even 90% of the processing power is utilized when this processor is incorporated into a smartphone not primarily designed for gaming. However, if the same processor is installed in a high-performance gaming smartphone, like the RedMagic 9 Pro, it could significantly outperform the Snapdragon, given adequate resources.

PeeCee, Exactly, I've held the same opinion for quite a while. Many people don't seem to bother comparing a full-fledged smartphone with another that's mainly designed for photography and everyday use. These two types of smartphones do not possess the same cooling system or operating system, which significantly affects their performance level. Therefore, I question everyone who is attempting to draw comparisons between such diverse smartphones. However, I do believe that the Dimensity 9300 processor is indeed more capable and better suited for gaming.

Nobody, The reason why Asus ROG phones consistently opt for Snapdragon SoC is because games are better optimised for Snapdragon processors. This is not to imply that Dimensity processors are inferior to those of Snapdragon. ROG phones are gaming-centric, hence the preference for Snapdragon processors which are more optimised for this purpose. The Dimensity 9300 is a very powerful processor, matching, or in some aspects, even surpassing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. I hope to see a future where games are optimised equally for MediaTek processors. If this were the case, OEMs producing gaming-centric phones could eventually turn to MediaTek processors. Moreover, I predict that Qualcomm may begin to use custom cores, instead of ARM cores. Whether this will be beneficial remains to be seen, but we hope to find out soon.

Geekerwan has already tested this chipset on his Chinese platform and the results boldly display its dominance. It would be unfitting to award this chipset the same score as 8Gen3 or A17 Pro because the 9300 is simply better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8MN36Fce3BU

One could argue that Qualcomm isn't striving to dominate the market this year because they are devoting significant resources to the forthcoming SD 8 Gen 4, which will feature Nuvia cores. Rumors persist, however, that the SD 8 Gen 4 is experiencing several issues including power leakages.

How can you make such a claim without checking the efficiency of these SoCs? Efficiency should take precedence over performance since passive cooling just isn't enough anymore. A decrease from 70 to 60 is better than a drop from 80 to 50. You're only ever going to get that top performance from the 9300 for the first 5 minutes. It remains powerful after throttling, but the SD 8 Gen 3 is significantly ahead.

Facts, Efficiency? I already watched Geekerwan's review on this chip, and even by then efficiency is quite good. Like many others pointed out before me, Using four cortex X cores clocked at lower clock speeds helps balance between performance and efficiency since you won't even use the chipset's full potential outside of heavy tasks like gaming and video editing. Furthermore, the way the Cortex A720s were configured in the D9300 gives it a bit better power : performance ratio, effectively replacing the A5xx efficiency cores which aren't really that efficient

This is likely for the next year. When the Oryon core of the Snapdragon appears, Mediatek will have no choice but to increase the frequency as much as possible and even increase the number of cores to 10. At the same time, Apple will increase the number of cores to 8. The maximum frequency will increase to 4GHz. In Geekbench, the CPU will offer a ST score of ~3200 and MT of 11500. A520 cores are inferior to the A720 series in both power efficiency and performance, they are only used because of their space efficiency since they don’t require much die space. They are mostly useful for standby so maybe 2 A520s could help save power when the display is off, it would be a terrible idea to remove the A720s since they’re the most efficient cores that ARM provides and the CPU would only have 4 very high performance cores and 4 extremely low performance cores for standby instead of a more balanced design.

I'm not a MediaTek hater. However, I believe that benchmarks won't matter if Android app developers don't optimize their apps for MediaTek chips. Even though the 9200+ is more capable than the 8gen 2, the majority of Android phone manufacturers still used the 8gen 2. Despite the 9200+ being the more powerful chip in the real world tests, it lags in apps as compared to the smoother 8gen 2. I like MediaTek and I believe that they're headed in the right direction. However, unless Android app developers start to optimize their apps for MediaTek chips, the fact that their chips are better and cheaper won't matter.

Even if it's tested in real-world scenarios, you won't even notice any lagging if you're only using it for the camera, not for gaming. Geekbench and Antutu matter for the chipset's performance on phones, but it depends on the OS. For Vivo, Oppo, and Xiaomi, they're the only phones that optimize MediaTek chipsets. Yet, Dimensity just refuses to show what it's capable of.

Dimensity 9300 is slightly better in performance and efficiency. Both of them are good and can beat A17 Pro on CPU multi core and GPU.

The Dimensity 9200+ is already enough to overpower the A17 Pro, no need for the newer version.

The Geekbench 6 multi-core score for the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 is not 7304, it's 7995. Please make the correction.

Does the Dimensity 9300 support 8K recording at 60 fps? I want it for a smoother viewing experience on my TV.

It does not support 8k 60fps because it's overkill. Only AI enhances those videos. It does have 8k 30fps, but AI will adjust it to 8k 45-60fps.

If you read articles about this comparison, both chips are going to surpass 2 million points in Antutu and the Mediatek Dimensity 9300 is going to be faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in multi-core, cuz that's because the Dimensity 9300 is using 4 Cortex-X4 cores and 4 Cortex-A720 + LPDDR5t and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is using 1 Cortex-X4, 5 Cortex-A720 and 2 Cortex-A520 + LPDDR5x. And for those wondering if there might be high thermals, there gonna cut the Immortalis-G720 MC12 GPU frequency in the Dimensity 9300 down a bit, but will still be on par with the Adreno-750 in he Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Just look at these articles about these teasers in between these 2 ARM CPU's and we'll see if this page gets updated soon, because this looks way to legit by looking at these Antutu scores and Geekbench scores. https://wccftech.com/dimensity-9300-surpasses-snapdragon-8-gen-3-in-new-antutu-test/

I really wish more people would pay attention to MediaTek. My Helio G95 can handle any game on the Playstore, even Alien Isolation, which is designed for Snapdragon 855 and above. And yet, it still maintains a steady frame rate. There have been several occasions where MediaTek has outperformed Snapdragon chips, but people continue to disparage MediaTek, even though they've never actually used their chips. Exynos too, doesn't deserve all the hate it receives. The only aspects where I see Qualcomm chips as superior are their audio capabilities and the prevalent support for their chips.

I, too, use a MediaTek-powered phone, specifically a newer Dimensity 8100. It offers flagship-level performance that is more powerful than the Snapdragon 888 while being efficient enough to stay cool during gaming. It outperforms all Qualcomm 7 series chips so significantly that they have had to release an underclocked Snapdragon 7+ gen 2, just to compete with the likes of Dimensity 8100 and 8200. Even though the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 and 9200+ are only about 5 percent weaker, they are still powerful and cost-effective alternatives to Qualcomm’s 8+ gen 1 and 8 gen 2. However, Samsung does manufacture its own chips. Their 5nm and 4nm nodes for Exynos 2200/2100/SD888/SD8G1 are not the best in terms of efficiency. This makes it understandable as to why some consumers may prefer more efficient alternatives over Samsung's Exynos chips. It would take some significant redesigning from Samsung or a switch to TSMC nodes before their chips could match the efficiency of their counterparts.

poco x4 gt, Most people aren't aware that the D8100 actually outperforms the 870, 888, 8G1, E2100, E2200, and D9000, particularly in terms of sustained performance. Moreover, the D8100 ranks amongst the top three to five most efficient chipsets available for Android. Despite its affordability, it's unfortunate that the D8100 is not as commonly utilized.

Wow, this is an aggressive approach from MediaTek to outperform Snapdragon. They didn't implement efficiency cores (Cortex A520). It could potentially lead to overheating and excessive battery drainage.

The cortex A720 doesn't run slower than the cortex A520 when at the same low power consumption.
