I just don't understand this Website anymore. Now the A17 pro has been ranked higher than the Dimensity 9300 plus. Nano-review does this every time, every damn year. I wonder if apple employees are behind this or they are just being paid by Apple. I just don't get it๐

Too right, bro, A-Bionic chipset is set with the scores too high and unrealistic. This is unfair and pro-Apple. A13 Bionic is realistically around 450,000 benchmarks and A14 Bionic is approximately 680,000.

Almost as powerful as Xbox Series S
Doesn't work this way.
First, peak theoretical compute performance isn't comparable between different architecture.
Second, other areas of the GPU are important as well, like memory bandwidth, ROPs, TMUs ...etc
Also, for a mobile SoC it'll run nowhere near the 1300 MHz peak clock for the GPU due to throttling, so real compute performance will be nowhere near 4 TFLOPs, whereas an XBox Series S will run at peak clock all the time.

You know that mobile gaming outside of emulation barely makes any sense?
There are not any good games to play!
Snapdragon open-source their drivers so their devices are capable of running emulators more smoothly.
You can play even PC games on Snapdragon chips. Mediatek does not release their source code thus you get poor emulator support.

Aryan, If you're looking for any good games outside emulators, I can suggest Wuthering Waves. It's much more graphics intensive despite being a bit smaller in size than Genshin because the former uses Unreal Engine. One of the reasons the tech reviewers I've watched before (Geekerwan, Yugatech, Unbox Diaries, GSMArena) don't really play emulators is because, like you said, driver support between Mediatek and Qualcomm is day and night.

Khaos, Or, you can play ZZZ (Zenless Zone Zero) if you're looking for a non-open-world, high demand game currently available. The same video Geekerwan tested, he stated that it's the most CPU demanding optimized game.
The best thing about ZZZ is its dynamic camera that really hits that nerve of having a blast in battle.

Jay, I know enough. I've played oldest titles ranging from The Walking Dead to Wuthering waves. You don't need to teach me about Android gaming. Those who have tried emulators are more familiar with RPG games than those who are not. Racists and low IQ people are the user base of meditek chips.

Aryan, Rarely? There are already other games outside of Genshin and Wuthering Waves on the play store that demand more or less decent performance from BOTH CPU and GPU. Zzz, HI3, HSR, not to mention the most graphics unoptimized game (in my opinion) Sky: Children of the Light. Using emulators as an excuse to justify trashing MediaTek? Sorry for being rude, but as someone who's played a vast collection of games from both mobile and pc, I was expecting a bit more statistical reasoning than just another day of yapping and hate-spreading. Khaos, Oh well, the same art style. Nothing different. Android gaming and waifu obsession is increasing day-by-day.
We need variety in art style and concept that Android clearly lacks. Having your data always and dealing with the telemetry is annoying.
If you have played vast collection of PC & Mobile game then you know that Android had always been plagued with games that have micro-transcations and such things unlike PC where you buy the game and sometimes DLC and you're good to go.
Android games lack varities that's why people out there want to emulate games. You can't even have a game like Splinter Cell 2.
Maybe meditek is good for people who want to be in Google's walled-garden. Snapdragon has always been the choice for tinkerers and enthusiasts because of their reputation, which is not getting challenged by Meditek.

Aryan, Sure I agree at some point, where emulator is the greatest if not the best game source according to you. But we are talking about already high end chipsets where there are far more features that need to be taken into consideration other than your GREAT emulator games. Everytime I read arguments about these 2 chipsets, SDM fanboys always and ALWAYS mention "wElL iT cAnNoT rUn eMuLaToRs wElL, aHa", thats valid for technology years ago where advanced features are not there yet. Its not always about games, find other arguments. Having an argument with a person who call the 9300 is a beast (which it is) just shows how much a SDM fanboy you are. smh

King Miracle., I feel you. They even said they want GTA 6 ported AS IS on android devices, as if throttling isn't an issue even on dedicated gaming smartphones. I've said this before and I'll say it again, I have little to no knowledge regarding how games based off of different engines run on Android and their different capabilities, but the fact that they want to release a RAGE engine based game that was originally made for consoles makes it seem like a nightmare, especially when even Qualcomm themselves didn't even specify support for that specific engine in their official Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 webpage (official support was for UE 5.x the last time I checked it)

Mrsch, It is a fact l, lol. Adreno release their resource code thus devs optimise applications for Adreno GPUs. We got even custom drivers for emulating PSP, PS Vita, Windows, Gamecube & Wii games.
Developers especially those working on Open-source project love Snapdragon chips.
Meditek would have good reputation if they release their source code.

Aryan, It's ARM who's responsible for creating the Dimensity chipsets' GPUs, not Mediatek. But just like you said, unless their drivers become fully accessible to game developers, it will be very difficult to optimize, let alone run high level emulators or games on Dimensity chipsets.
