the l9 14900k should not be compared with the m4, it should either be compared with the m3 ultra or m4 max

Bro M4 and intel i9 both have entirely different architecture, you know this is the base line M4 chip not the M4 ultra or pro the fact that base model chip is able to compete with a desktop grade processor is something its nuts , you can find this base line chip on some ipads

i9. I can spend the 400 bucks I would pay for 512M of ssd to buy a GPU that makes up for the difference and then I still have 2T in my laptop. And I can put up to 8T. I have 65G ram can get up to 96. My OS does not keep telling me what not to do. I can use the thing until it dies or gets too slow. Chances that I die first are not unreal. A mac is good for a couple of years before Apple locks the door. And that's only if the mac does not die before it's obsolete, which is what 3 out of 4 of my macs did. I will never again buy a mac, which is the only way to get your hands on an M4. If that was just a CPU, it would be very tempting. I'm not doing a lot of CPU intensive stuff, so most of the power of my i9 is heating the office. But looking at circumstances, it's the better deal by a huge margin.
