Great overview ComputerNerd. To put even more simply the R7 8845HS combines the affordability and raw CPU performance of the i5-13500H/i7-13700H with the power efficiency and iGPU performance of the Ultra 5 125H/Ultra 7 258V. Laptops models with Core Ultra H/V-series CPUs will no doubt become more affordable over time but for now, Ryzen 7000/8000 laptops offer more performance "bang" at increasingly good value "for buck" than ever before. Intel will of course keep up with AMD's midrange CPU & APU offerings as long as they maintain enough margin to keep themselves afloat just above the waterline of life-support. And at this rate of rapidly improving APU value I have no doubt that the Ryzen HX 365/370 & Core Ultra 200H/V offerings will be commonplace in the sub-$750 range by the end of next year while at the high-end, $1,200-$2,400 range Intel tries to catch-up to Strix Halo with Panther Lake and Medusa Halo with Nova Lake ;)

The Intel core Ultra 5 125H CPU is nice for those that do not need a powerhouse CPU, especially for the mini-PC market. In balanced mode on Windows 11 Pro, it gets only 28 TDP, so very power efficient. Asus NUC 14 Pro is the only one that is selling it from the last time I checked. You can get the barebones one for $482 to $550 USD. Otherwise, the AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS is the better CPU choice for those that need more than the basics. Better multi-core CPU performance, better iGPU, and better gaming drivers.
