Basically Ryzen 7 8845HS = Ryzen 7 7840HS + better battery efficiency + NPU. This will not matter for desktop or mini-PC users. It will help laptop users.

AMD is essentially repackaging the 7840HS as the 8845HS and the 8945HS, attempting to create confusion with the superior Dragon Range processors. The 8945HS doesn't even outperform the weaker Dragon Range 7645HX, let alone come close to the 7745HX.

Evnscnt, There is one other advantage to the 8845HS, It has support for USB 4 (USB-C Thunderbolt equivalent). 7th gen Ryzen doesn't have the ability to handle 40GB USB interfaces. The best a 7th gen Ryzen chip can do with USB-C is 20GB. This really doesn't matter for mini-PCs, But is a major drawback for laptops that attach to high end docking stations or if you want to run an external GPU.

WoodlandITGuy, It's false, we can see on the AMD website that the Ryzen 7 7840HS supports two 40Gps USB4 ports and has a 10 TOPs NPU, the Ryzen 7 8845HS just has a more powerful NPU ( 16 TOPs ) and CPU.
