I buying Google phone reason long time period for getting new android version and G4 got Mali G715 that soon getting mesa3d support Vulkan 1.4 support and new shader complete being written for mesa for it as well. That reason I choice it

I feels like Google is purposely shooting themselves in the foot. Do they not want people to buy their phones?

Google should be shame, TSMC 3nm couldn't save its bad chip design

Tsmc pe shift tensor g5 if best performance is the killing processor. He say Google pixel phone in so mobile with marketing in pixel 10 in after all models manufacturing in tsmc so it is better chipset. Google make by in processor which future of the tsmc. So good..., πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Tensors always have mediocre performance, but at least the switch to TSMC 3nm will make things more efficient. Looking forward to seeing if they change the modem from the unreliable exynos trash to something else.

Some leaks indicate to a homemade modem but it only leaks so do not take it to seriously

Probably wrong time to switch. The 2500 is doing wonders in the Zflip7

hope that the scores are preliminary, doesn't seem like much improvement over G4

Would have liked a full 8-core A725 design, similar to Dimensity 8400.

If Google doesn't fix the overheating problem with TSMC, then the problem is definitely themselves.

Overheating issue? The Pixel 9 series is colder then the Samsung s25U and that has been tested Lol I get u mean all the older ones like 8 7 and 6

Probably both, but the switch to TSMC will definitely make things better.

I think it was, because the main problem with Samsung's manufacturing process was overheating, perhaps Google has decided not to create a processor as powerful as the competition, But this would allow for better temperatures, and with the help of the great optimization that Google puts between Android and Processor I say that they will achieve good things with less. Even so, it is bad news for the gamers. Now, let's separate, if Google continues with the overheating problems despite not having a processor so powerful for such a node, the problem is no longer the foundry, the problem is Google.

Obviously not big enough of a difference. While the A18 Pro and Dimensity 9400 are scoring 9k multi core and the SD 8 Elite is scoring over 10k, Tensor isn't even two thirds there. Samsung's foundry has been struggling, but the Exynos 2400 was a good chip. Compare the 2400 to the Tensor G4 and you'll see why Samsung Foundry isn't the issue.

rrg008, What does that even translate to? You're just looking at benchmark scores and deciding it sucks. What can do with a a 9k benchmark that you can't do with a 6k benchmark? I'd much rather have a chip that focuses on efficiency, battery life and use cases than a chip chasing benchmark scores. Don't fall for this marketing gimmick.

JxL, raw power could help in heavy tasks like editing videos but i think tensor g5 will rival the snapdragon 8 gen 3 so that would be a great improvement.
