It's literally the same MediaTek Dimensity 8300, but with software tweaks or SDKs for the processor. So, in theory, the 8300 with that software would deliver that 2% increase in performance.

Not only 2% , I have both Poco X6 Pro and Realme P3 Ultra and I played heavy games on both and definitely P3 Ultra is much more stable and gives more stable frame rates than poco X6 pro and i really felt the difference in gaming, but that's not a major upgrade by mediatek...

I don't get these whiners. Dimensity made the naming so easy to figure out, but people are still malicious. 8 determines if it is flagship or not. 3 is the architectural iteration. Adding 50 just means no changes in architecture but some optimizations here and there. Chipset is not all about hardware but also firmware and software. For example, your chipset won't throttle without software embedded into it.

Qualcomm has even stupider and just unnecessary naming scheme now. Mediatek's previous rebranding from the old 700, 800, 900, and 1000 series to the current 6000, 7000, 8000, and 9000 was justified because it was a little bit messy and the numbers couldn't have more increments without jumping to the higher tier series. But more importantly, because they then had just started to introduce true flagship-class offerings.

I don’t know why MediaTek always does this useless stuff. It’s literally nothing but poor marketing and low-quality mentality. Launches a chipset, then rebrands it multiple times, cheating the consumers by making them fools. They can upgrade a little bit, at least. Rebranding the same chipset by adding "ultra," "energy," "ultimate," "max." Dimensity 8200 = 8250 Dimensity 8300 = 8350 Dimensity 8050 = 1200 And many more. They should be strongly punished.

Stop spreading misinformation here. MediaTek has a customization program called Dimensity 5G Open Resource Architecture (DORA). This allows OEMs to customize the chipset for their own preference. This emboldened OEMs to make up name extensions on the chipset like Dimensity 8300 "Ultra." Also, 8300 is NOT the same as 8350. When you see 50, it means no major architectural changes but with optimizations and improvements. Especially in this iteration, StarSpeed Technology is incorporated. Also, the 1200 is NOT 8050. 8050 is the optimized version of 1200, but no architectural changes.

Corrector, Saying 8050 is the optimized version of 1200 shows us you never used a device using 8050.

Corrector, So its the same 🀦 Brother if you are paying for a chip that is years old because it has new "optimizations" then i can tell a few better ways to use your money. Mediatek is rebranding old chips and selling them at a higher price than the original now costs. No, higher number doesnt mean better, theyre the same, they dont have any new optimizations, all the times those chips win are within margin of error in benchmarks, stop glazing million dollar companies.
