Same 8400 ultra chipset but realme work very well

how did this did latest G6xx series gpu have a lower Gflops than the last gen🫤?
but i think the Gflops here is not accurate for D8300..
MaliG615 and the Vanilla G715 have no difference at all..G615 is just a G715 but in 6 core gpu capped.
we can take the much accurate example the Tensor G4 which sports 7 core G715 which had 2500+ Gflops then D8300 flops wouldn't be low as 2Tflops

Serhii, Why the Gflops are so low and the clock speed so high 🙁 i feel like mediatek is scamming 7 plus gen 2 has around the same gflops but at 580mhz and scores around 300 thousand in antutu gpu i have a weird feeling that mediatek is using higher clock speed to look good on benchmark
this cpu is comparable to 7 gen 3 and 865 in real life but in benchmark due to higher clock speed it seems to be on par with 8 plus gen 1, sd 888 🙁
if mediatek makes stable processor instead of over coocking them to look good on benchmark i will buy the phone without a single thought but i am strictly against fake marketing of peak performance and overclocking cpu and gpu 🙁

6 cores at 1400MHz means 2150.4 GFLOPs peak.
Regarding the your second question, yes MediaTek lately has been clocking their GPUs a bit too high, presumably to make them look better on paper, thats why sustained performance is what will always matters.

One thing you'll have to take note of is this:
I find it very strange, but it seems higher Ram Size and storage does affect Geekbench and AnTuTu scores. I have browsed the Geekbench library myself and I've confirmed this.
That's another reason why I don't trust those scores- the inaccuracies.
Although, I think it's a problem with the storage controller, as lower capacity storage often has slower speed (Check 128GB UFS 3.1 vs 256GB UFS 3.1, and see the very large speed difference).
🤓☝️
+21Reply
AnonymousAugust 20, 2024 at 12:20 PM
I think this will not apply for Geekbench and AnTuTu, since I saw 8 gen 2 phones using ufs 3.1 and 4.0 having similar scores, let alone this SoC which only supports ufs 4.0.
And for AnTuTu, I browsed at AnTuTu score library on this website for this SoC, it seems like 256gb and 512 Micron UFS 4.0 and x6 pro's 8gb and 12gb lpddr5x doesn't have varying speed, as MEM scores doesn't differ that much in AnTuTu.
In my opinion, the variable Geekbench scores which probably got you suspicious is probably due to the temps. I have the x6 pro and my Geekbench score also varies 3700-4300 depending on the phone temperature, it looks like Xiaomi put harsh throttling in this phone when it reaches certain temp.
+1Reply
Peasant tragedy,August 21, 2024 at 04:26 AM
I don't think it does.
Exhibit 1: phones with 8 gen 2 that has ufs 3.1 or 4.0 with differing ram size has negligible score difference on Geekbench
Exhibit 2: from nanoreview's own library, X6 pro's AnTuTu MEM scores also has negligible difference between 8/256 and 12/512 versions, it looks like although size and capacity are different, the speed stays relatively the same.🗿

Disappointing CPU performance. Only an improvement in peak performance against last gen 8200. Most of the time, it throttles and is closer to 8200 than it is to 8s gen 3. MediaTek should use 1+4+3, change that useless prime cortex a7 into an x, and optionally use armv9.2 if they were to keep up with snapdragon in the upcoming release of 8400.

You're wrong. The GPU is not very poor; it's decent, comparable to 8+ Gen 1's. The CPU is the one that's not that good; it has no Cortex X core, and to compensate for that, the prime Cortex A7 has very high clocks that lead to high temps. 8S Gen 3 and 7+ Gen 3 with similar GPU power have much better CPUs.

This spec sheet indicates that the Dimensity 8300 is equipped with the T800 modem. However, this is incorrect. In reality, it is the Dimensity 9200 that utilizes the T800 modem, not this chipset. The downlink speed listed here is 7900Mbps, which represents the T800 speed. MediaTek's official website for the Dimensity 8300 highlights a peak downlink speed of only 5.17Gbps. This discrepancy clearly demonstrates that the Dimensity 8300 does not feature the T800 modem. To my knowledge, the D8300 uses its own, as yet unnamed, modem.

The battery issue with the Dimensity 8300 was Poco/Xiaomi's fault, not the chipset's. The problem stemmed from its leather-back design, which drained the battery faster than other phones. To get a better battery experience, choose the Poco X6 Pro in either gray or black. Additionally, the ranking of this chipset should be revised in the review. The Dimensity 8300 does not deserve to be ranked down. It should retain its 10th position owing to Poco's performance. We'll just have to wait for Vivo to use this beast of a chipset.

Well, here's what happens: Those scores were taken from a prototype cellphone, manufactured by MediaTek, just to test the processor. Everything possible was done to regulate the processor's temperature during these tests. Additionally, Xiaomi often skimps on using thermal paste in its phones, which could affect performance. There's also a possibility that the brand deliberately limited the performance through its software. I can guarantee you that if you help regulate the temperature of that processor, you will indeed see an improved score.

2. MediaTek Dimensity 8300 with a 4nm chip
Memory speed is measured in Mega-Transfers per second (MT/s), making it unnecessary to measure in MHz/s. Meanwhile, the speed is given as 8533Mbps by MediaTek. I understand that this value is obtained by division which yields necessary data pertaining to MHz.

I purchased this unit after using the Redmi K70E. The CPU of the 8300 appears slightly weaker than the 8 Plus Gen 1. Although the 8300's GPU, clocked at 1400MHz, performs better on benchmarks, the Adreno 720 already adequately services most games these days. Furthermore, the 8300 seems to overheat quickly, although this could be improved with proper optimization. I just wanted to conclude that, while this device isn't quite on par with the 8 Gen 2, it's in the same ballpark as the 8 Plus Gen 1.

Are you referring to the throttling issues on the 9300? What do you mean? This chipset doesn't literally throttle; it's the coolest chipset on the market. I don't know where people are getting that information. Simply search for "X100" or "X100 Pro gaming test", or watch Geekerwan's review on this. No one has ever complained about overheating.

I use the Poco X6 Pro to play Genshin at medium 60fps and haven't experienced any issues with throttling. I can play at high 60fps for about 20 minutes and the phone becomes a bit warm, but the performance is still superior. At the very least, it doesn't overheat like the 8gen2 from the Xiaomi 13 Pro when I play Genshin at high 60fps.

Why the Dimensity 8300 could potentially rival the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 due to Antutu scores.

This SoC is absurdly powerful. Massive improvement over the 8100/8200. It rivals Snapdragon 8+G1 or even 8G2 in some tasks. It could power some flagship killers.

My 7+ gen 2 is playing max settings genshin impact with an average fps of 58.4 I think it will be a rival to the 7+ gen 2.

Scorx, The main issue with the 7+ Generation 2 is the underwhelming GPU; it has been significantly downgraded.

The Redmi K70E boasts a score of 1.5M on AnTuTu. Regardless, the 8300 remains on par with the 8 Gen 2, especially considering its LPDDR5X and UFS 4.0 features.

I wish it could support 8K at 30 FPS, but regardless, this chipset feels more powerful than 7+ Gen2, as well as 8+ Gen1, including the Dimensity 9000+. Additionally, I believe that 7 Gen 3 and 7+ Gen 3 will use either the Adreno 730 GPU or the 735 in order to outperform this chipset.
