People saying Dimensity 8300 is better than 8S Gen 3 are delusional. Look, even the mid cores of 8S Gen 3 are more updated than the entire core configuration of 8300, which only uses A715. Just a reminder that overclocking an older core to make it run faster can lead to thermal throttling issues and early deterioration. Also, it can't even keep up in long gaming sessions. Let's make an example: an old man is a Dimensity 8300, and a teenager is 8S Gen 3 in a marathon contest. In order for the old man to keep up with the young one, he must push himself beyond his limits, while the young one is relaxing without breaking a sweat. That's very clear logic. Mediatek is overclocking its processor just to keep up with Snapdragon because it’s using old cores. Sorry for my English; I'm not good.

Kinda true, having F6 and X6 Pro since their first release half proves your point. While both also have some heat issues for long intense gaming, F6 came superior in stability over a 5-hour gaming session of CODM with medium graphics and high fps settings. I'm not saying X6 Pro with its 8300U is a bad choice for its price; it's worth the price but comparing it to F6 8s Gen 3 is not a good comparison. 8s Gen 3 has good architecture and better optimization, while 8300U is just on steroid. Although Poco came up with software optimization to solve this, it decreases the phone performance by almost 10–20%, which is a deal breaker since the phone was advertised as having great gaming performance. I'm saying this since I love intense gaming and came up with this conclusion after a lot of gaming sessions using both phones. Some noticeable differences while gaming are that X6 Pro 8300U stuttered after 2 hours into the game, while F6 around 2 and a half hours. Both are great phones, but I'd rather pick F6 12/512 for a second-hand price rather than a brand new X6 Pro.

even the mid cores of 8S Gen 3 are more updated than the entire core configuration of 8300, which only uses A715. - Most graphically intensive games are actually gpu bound, and the a715 cores are still objectively fast as there was a huge jump in cpu performance since the a78, which is actually still very capable. Unless you are doing heavy ai stuff on your phone I highly doubt that anyone would be able to tell the difference at all. Just a reminder that overclocking an older core to make it run faster can lead to thermal throttling issues and early deterioration. - This tells me that you don't actually know how these silicon chips are made. Tl;dr they are wafer silicons that are very carefully manipulated and imposed to do computer work. Sometimes they aren't "formed" perfectly and some die doesn't work as intended (Only 3 cores are working properly out of 4 cores for example). Now my point is that even though these chips are meant to be "similar" they aren't always identical. Some chips are just better synthesized. You assume that these chips that they overclocked are actually just the same as the previous one, but they actually bin these chips and sift through the ones that can actually handle the higher clocks. Your analogy is just plain wrong. It's more like winning the genetic lottery. He doesn't need to push himself beyond his limits, as he was formed stronger and better than his brothers, he was built different. The chip can handle the work. It's just that some of the phones that this SoC lives in are budget phones, and they usually skimp on the cooling. Graphically intensive games might even run better on the dimensity as it has a better gpu, as I said earlier, these games are gpu bound. (They max out the gpu even before the cpu gets fully utilized, so a stronger cpu doesn't actually matter as long as it can keep up with the gpu, which in this case, the a715 actually does keep up) So long as the temps are managed well. And for everyday usage, this are chips that score more than a million points in antutu. We have reached the point where it doesn't matter anymore. You wouldn't be able to tell the difference for everyday use even if you compare it to an 8 gen 3. Smartphone performance has reached a point of saturation. There's no way any phone manufacturers can make a chip that has a million points feel slow, unless it's deliberate. This is why google is not in any hurry to be as competitive with their tensor chips in benchmarks.

You're probably broke, that's why you're comparing them through sheets of paper. I've bought both the F6 and X6 pro because they're cheap. I've compared both and the D8300U is far better in maintaining FPS in gaming and everyday stuff. This Geekbench and the other "score" they are not far, yes i know that the 8s gen 3 has slightly better "components" but yet the D8300 perfoms way better irl when i use it for gaming or normal usages. They're not delusionals. They're just right.

343 tests for 8300U and only 197 for 8s gen 3.. the middle score is impacted by many many tests not done correctly. Objectively it's the truth. Only on cpu hard usages they are same, less expensive and with no reals performances cores..

8300U far away better than 8s Gen 3 in value for the money. You can see clearly that both are so close in every bench so go try to buy them and you'll see how much difference there's !! it's just insane. Be reasonnable guys. By the way i got the X6 pro and i had the samsung s23Plus which have the 8 gen2 and trust me it runs everything smooth and even smoother.

I myself upgraded my poco f3 8/256 to poco x6 pro 12/512 last month. I was waiting for christmas sales to upgrade but the screen on my f3 started to have dead pixels and it is spreading fast and luckily I got it on sale for only us$275. I was planning to get a 8s gen 3 phone but at that time there was no sale on phones with that chip. There's a sale now on redmi turbo 3 (that was what I was planning to buy) us$240 for 12/256, us$290 for 12/512 and us$323 for 16/512. I would've gotten the 12/512 version if my old phone didn't gave out on me.

Random dude, Well can't say it's that bad !! some apps sucks since they shows ads when you use them. But hey you can disable them and use other apps from play store, it's not a big deal after all. i got the version 12/512 and it's a really enjoyable phone. One thing i will say it's that if you plan to get a phone for photography so i won't recommend it at all. Go for other brands like sammy xiaomi oppo honor or any other brand known for camera quality.

Random dude, Here is the fun part: Did you know you can turn off personal recommendations on miβ€” ahem, HyperOS? AKA ads. I guess each app has these settings, maybe under a different name, but they are there... If you are asking me if I would pay less at the expense of my sweet 5 minutes to disable or uninstall bloatware, damn right I would. BTW, it kinda fixes the battery issue as well. I am happy with my F6β€”waaaay better than what my friend recommended, a Galaxy M55.

The only reason (if I were) to pick 8300 Ultra is if the device is Xiaomi 14T. The Leica lens, 50 MP telephoto sensor, 12 MP ultrawide sensor, and 4 years of OS updates (instead of 3 in F6). Oh, and IP68, but that's minor.

For me, it's safer to choose F6 than X6 Pro, since 8300 Ultra was overclocked, both GPU and CPU. And we all know that Xiaomi has the worst motherboard, let alone handling an overclocked chipset. Surely, it's going to die within a few years.

Poco F6 has 8s gen 3 while Poco X6 Pro has 8300U, according to Xiaomi's announcement the F series is better than the X Pro series, there is no argument that 8s gen 3 has better performance than 8300U, btw antutu score of 8s gen 3 is wrong and outdated, actual score is higher

Susan, And so the score of dimensity is lowest than true score, around 1500000 points too, people launcher AnTuTu test with many apps on background or After gaming sessions (starting temps over 35Β°...) and score are killed by about 20%... Launcher AnTuTu with low temps and nothing dehind and the score IS much better.. this soc have Always Bad score because so much users than people with 8s/8 gen3 ..

No it's not a copy of 8 gen 2. The core config is different, the architecture is newer, the cores are newer and the prime core is lower clocked, the GPU is an improved version of the one in 8 plus gen 1, it uses a better newer fab than 8g2. Only thing it has in common is the connectivity, even then the 5g modem is downgraded. Though I'd say a competitor to 8300 is 7 plus gen 3, they're more on par. Whereas 8s gen 3 is the simply better SoC (ignore AnTuTu GPU score, you'll see consistently better gpu performance in other benchmarks).

My Observation: -Having a cortex X results in a huge advantage in single core, 8s gen 3 has significantly faster single core score yet with a lower clock speed (less heat). Heck, even 7+ gen 2 has higher single core than 8300, Mediatek should definitely change their prime core in D8400 if they were to keep up with snapdragon. -Having newer cores, newer architecture and most importantly more large cores results in a large advantage in multi core. 8s gen 3 scores significantly higher, yet its extra large, large, and small cores have lower clock speed than 8300. -The GPU on 8300 somehow scores higher on antutu, yet scores lower in geekbench & 3dmark. -The modem on 8300 as far as I know, is not T800. It's unnamed with lower downlink speed and older 3gpp release than that of x70.

Battery scores shouldn't be capped at 91, and the 8s gen 3 should've had higher battery score. 8s gen 3 has better instruction set and most importantly better cores and more bigger cores. This allows it to perform better in peak performance, and achieve similar performance to that of 8300 while using lower power simply by lowering the clock speeds of the bigger, better cores. Take the comparison between 7+ gen 3 and 8300 in socpk (geekerwan) as example.

2 micro processors made this year by qualcom snapdragon the 8s gen 3 and 7 plus gen 3 only to compete the dimensity 8300 , about the gaming optimisation is reltated to games companies policy i think now most of the games companies will look forword to optimise mediatek better than before on the same track with qualcom snapdragon

pock, Yes, the biggest issue on any SoC other than snapdragon's and apple's. Mediatek dimensity 8300 is now almost a year old and loses in many games against the newer unoptimized 8s gen 3. Probably an issue with them being closed source or something, so probably won't even be fixed until they become more open (never LOL). Just accept it damn it. F6 is superior to x6 pro from just the name, was x3 pro, x4 pro, x5 pro superior to their f series counterparts? No.

Definitely, snapdragon 8s gen3 is far better on paper only because, snapdragon released it in March 2024 where as Mediatek dimensity 8300ultra has released in November 2023.

Too much difference in Geekbench and the CPU level, I think it is wrong. While playing Warzone Mobile, it seems different. The result is the opposite; the Dimensity 8300 is faster.

Vipin, Lol! You think Dimensionality is faster just because you've only used Dimensionality and don't know anything about Dimensity? Are you really crazy? You are campaigning for Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. It's a new release compared to 7 Gen 3. Dimensionality is not for long, we know that Dimensity can boost the charmer, but not for long. It doesn't do stabilization; it fluctuates after a while. Maybe no one can consider Dimensionality in this award that uses Snapdragon at least Gen 1.

Snapdragon is good for apps, photos, and video rendering, but in gaming, Mediatek has better performance. It can handle more heat and more power than Snapdragon. Snapdragon may be better for a certain time, but Mediatek can last longer.

amaw ko ikaw pod, So about stability snapdragon has more stable than mediatek. But mediatek can do higher graphics but not for long i mean can be 30+ minutes while snapdragon can do stable fps for long but can do more higher than mediatek. It just like you using overclock snapdragon and forced it to work more

Whatever we say about MediaTek CPU, either good or bad, if you want to see the fact, Snapdragon is struggling to make a better mid-range chipset versus MediaTek. In the same year, it has made 8s Gen3 and 7 Plus Gen3 only to compete with the Dimensity 8300. The fact is that MediaTek is better.

MediaTek remains number one for gaming; Exynos and Snapdragon are great in photography. I made a small test between Helio G99 and Snapdragon 695. Helio is better while using the app, and the games are a lot better. The slight difference between 8s Gen 3 and Dimensity 8300 is L3 cache - 8 mega for 8s Gen 3. The X technology gives the CPU a push to go further in video rendering and emulation. The Dimensity 8300 has a better GPU, which gives the CPU a good push in gaming versus 8s Gen 3.

The difference in the GPU is marginal; you can take it aside. The 8s Gen 3 has SIGNIFICANTLY better CPU performance, particularly in multi-score, which potentially means the 8s Gen 3 will have better gaming performance than the D8300, despite having a slightly worse GPU. Plus, it's Snapdragon, which is way more supported and optimized, and its drivers are just better.

Jeez, If you want ray tracing support, you have to buy an expensive MediaTek mobile with D9000-D9300 because the 8300 chipset is a budget one and it was not optimized like others. 8S Gen 3 is just a downgrade of 8 Gen 3. However, D9300 can run better than 8 Gen 3 in terms of Ray tracing.

Ganesh, Where do you even get your info on Ray Tracing? Snapdragon chips 8 gen 3 and 8s Gen 3 got hardware Ray Tracing support. 3D MARK Solar Bay scores (Ray Tracing Capability) *To clarify, yes dimensity 8300 and sd8s gen 3 has ray tracing, although sd 8 gen 3 has global illumination capabilities which is on a whole other level. D8300 - 4790 (around max 21fps) SD 8s GEN 3 - 5288 (around max 26fps) SD 8 GEN 2 - 5406 (around max 28-30fps) SD 8 GEN 3 - 7760 (around max 40fps) Average phone gpu - N/A, only a few SOCs can do this (dimensity 9200/9300, exynos 2200, A17 pro, etc.)

Howd, Hope you've seen the 8s Gen 3 frame freeze break + high temperature on Warzone Mobile in many tests done on YouTube. It's only powerful and stable on papers. The fact that MediaTek is better in gaming, however, 8s Gen 3 is more reliable in photography and video rendering, slightly more than MediaTek. The Dimensity 8300 is a great chipset, especially on Warzone Mobile.

MediaTek is better than Exynos, Snapdragon and others because it provides stability in games without freezing. Even if the CPU gets hot, it continues working perfectly. Other processors, as mentioned above, when they get a little bit hot suddenly, will drop out or freeze and reboot the phone, or exit from the game or app. Exynos and Snapdragon are great for photography and video rendering.

Wata, Because some gaming companies ignored MediaTek at first, my phone, for example, equipped with Dimensity 1080 a year ago, CarX was not working smoothly. But now, the game is working smoothly and better than before. It is all about game optimization versions.

Mr cpu, Still, it doesn't change the fact that Snapdragon has way better support, optimization, and drivers, and they get it earlier. Adreno GPUs are also better because of better drivers and support, leading to more stability.

If only D8300 used Cortex X as its prime core, it could've been closer to 8SG3. Anyways, for all the people talking about heat, both 8300 and 8SG3 are hot as hell. I've seen in comparisons that Redmi Turbo 3 and Poco X6 Pro reach temperatures up to 45Β°C and throttling. But anyway, in my opinion, 8SG3 is way better for the fact it runs emulators way faster. You wouldn't want to be confined to just mobile games.

Gamerz, I'm late to the party, but that's EXACTLY why not even a single tech reviewer I've followed in the past few months wants to test emulator games. Optimization is where Snapdragon excels, and why? They create their own GPUs so they can release the drivers without much hiccups. Dimensity, on the other hand, is restricted to ARM's Mali / Immortalis GPU architecture, and it's either Mediatek has the drivers but don't want to release it or ARM didn't give them the GPU drivers in the first place

I think the extra gaming performance of Snapdragon 8's Gen 3 is coming from the Cortex X-4 and L2, L3 Cache. Except for these two things, Dimensity 8300-Ultra has a higher CPU, GPU core frequency. When Poco F6 (Global) comes out, a side-by-side performance comparison can only confirm the real deal.

Gpu frequency and CPU frequency doesn't matter, it matters on the CPU use base on what you said and the gpu.

The 8300 has good specs but when used irl it lacks stability it stutters suddenly when you play around 30mins to 1h. On the other hand 8s gen 3 is very stable since it has better performance and efficiency cores, the one's saying 8300 is better doesn't know what it's performance is in real time experience. But although 8300 is very affordable compared to 8s gen 3 so you can call it king of budget if you're just looking for an affordable gaming chipset for around 250$ to 320$. But overall 8s gen 3 is better since it's more stable and better architecture.

If you're seeking power and affordability, consider the Poco x6 Pro (8300 Ultra) but if stability and camera quality are your priorities, then the Poco F6/Redmi Turbo 3 (8s Gen 3) may be the better choice. Both offer excellent performance and battery life, however, heat generation may vary depending on your region and phone usage habits. Snapdragon and Dimensity are my go-to choices. The phones I've mentioned are the only ones I know that utilize 8s Gen 3 or 8300 Ultra.

The Dimensity 8300 is a more versatile chipset than the 8s Gen 3 because there are no budget-friendly Snapdragon phones equipped with flagship and premium mid-range System on Chips (SoCs) such as the Sd888, Sd870, Sd865+ 7+ Gen 2, unlike MediaTek.

The Dimensity 8300 is equivalent to the 8s Gen 3, 7+ Gen 3, and 8+ Gen 1. However, in terms of pricing, Snapdragon's low-end/mid-range is equivalent to MediaTek's premium mid-range chipset, the 8300.
