Basically the same with few optimisations. Design a better Helio chipset with 4xA76 and 4xG68 cores on 6nm process

A joke literally. I feel sorry for the people tricked in to paying a premium just because its marketed as a new g200 soc.

I think they keep renaming this soc to make it sound like a new soc, and smartphone company still using this soc for their new phone, i don't have a problem with that

Same old shit. Seriously, imagine if the Helio G95 was built on 6nm; it would be a beast. Because my three-and-above-years G95 still runs smoothly with all my favorite games - superb CODM, Genshin Impact, eFootball, etc. Wish it was built on a smaller nm.

Codm is a valid reason but genshin? no G95 is only running at lowest graphics smoothly they're the same as G99 but G99 has the upperhand when making it to 60 fps and Medium settings because it can handle temps than G95 even if it's built on a 6nm it won't change that's why G99 was invented because G95 drains and overheats so fast

Zan, G99 is shit bro but g95 is beast in budget, arm mali G76 MC4 graphics, 4k 30fps , but g99 stuck on 2k 30 fos

Zan, G95 absolutely CAN run GENSHIN, but it will overheat a lot.

At least there is a 100 MHz GPU overclock, because G100 had the exactly same CPU and GPU clocks.

a7med, No. G100 and G200 are clearly better because 6nm + 2,2 Ghz are more important than the GPU weakness from these socs compared to G90T

I know they're just renaming the G99 at this point, but a small difference is a small difference.

What's the difference between them only gpu clock 1k to 1.1k, nothing improved else, must boost the main CPU clock almost 2.4 Ghz

This is basically the same performance as the g90 from years ago bruh, and even that has support for 4K which the newer ones don't. typical greedy soc companies as always

I'd choose Helio g100 because it's the same thing. Heck even G96 is better than this. 4% AnTuTu difference. Such trash

This Helio saga is ridiculous. Modern Dimensity / Snapdragon SoCs already have the option to automatically switch to either 5G or 4G depending on the signal received by your phone

Cheap and lazy refreshes… MediaTek releases a great SoC then does a lazy refresh later for some other then does that again for some other thing and then maybe do a good one; rinse and repeat. It's lame…

An added support for 4K recording would have been a great update that will be very much appreciated. Or they've should've overclocked the performance cores cause this isn't even a refresh of the same chip; it's literally the same.

Don't you know anything? June 1, 2025 at 08:51 PM
Mediatek: No it's not! Don't you see that in the G200 the GPU frequency is 100 MHz higher? A small change in frequency makes the G200 completely different from the G100 specifically and a completely new chip in general!
