What's the wrong with you Nanoreview team! Dimensity 1200's antutu score is 730k in 12GB ram variants of realme x7 max.In 8gb ram it’s antutu score is 695k+.Then why did you demonstrate its score around 677k?

#Nanoreview, Why are you decreasing snapdragon 865's gaming performance score? Have you ever tested it? Have you noticed any difference between 865 and 870? I think the #Nanoreview team does not have proper knowledge about the chipset.

Snapdragon 865's gaming performance is obviously better than dimensity 1200. I can surely say that from my heavy tests between Mi 10T & Realme X7 max. Its score should be around 74-75.

Nanoreview, I have been working with a lot of chipsets on my phones. Plz, read the full article. I have been testing sd 865 and dimensity 1200 for more than 50 days on my 5 phones. sd 865(MI 10T,Oneplus 8T, redmi k30 pro zoom) & dimensity 1200(redmi k40 gaming, realme x7 max).I removed oneplus nord 2 as it's single core performance is very low(800-850) and it’s dimensity 1200 Al. I not only believe on benchmark scores but also believe on real life performance. From my heavy tests, I can say one thing. Sd 865 and dimensity 1200 provides almost same fps. There is not a huge difference. But when it’s about graphics quality sd 865 is clear winner providing far better graphics quality in highest settings. Playing heavy games continuously more than 3-4 hours, dimensity 1200 starts frame dropping (60fps to 50fps) but sd 865 remains very stable(90fps to 87fps.60fps to 58 fps). I have submitted cpu result. Today I have submitted my gaming performance between dimensity 1200 and sd 865. In terms of gaming, sd 865 is clear winner.I didn’t understand why you put it behind dimensity 1200 im terms of gaming. I found no difference in gaming among sd 865,865+ and 870 on my Mi 10T,Rog 3,Mi 11X. Literally,0% difference in gaming performance. My final verdict, in term of gaming I would score 870----->76 865+--->76~75 865----->73 1200--->70 You can test and check it on your phones and kindly submit my result.

I think NanoReview did the right thing about gaming and GPU Performance Because in real test like Genshin Impact or 3D Mark, the DM1200 shows 5-10% better FPS on both Average and Min-Max and up to 15-25% better score on 3D Mark On stress test, due to its extra high performance core, DM1200 will have its unstablity more than its predecesor, DM1100 On the other hands, DM1100 has pretty good stablity up to 99.2% on 3D Mark stress test And both DM1100 and 1200 has the same GPU so i think on raw GM perf : 1200>1100>865 On hardcore long-time GM : 1100>1200=865(or 1200>865)

Let me clear everything between sd 865 and dimensity 1200. In terms of cpu, dimensity 1200 has better core with better clock speed(A-78 3.00 GHz) But snapdragon 865 has better stability and optimization as they provide better architecture. Kriyo *85(485,585 etc) are as powerful as next generation arm cortex such as cortex A-77 with kryo 585 is as powerful as normal cortex A-78. That's why sd 865 provides slightly better cpu performance than dimensity 1200. In terms of gpu snapdragon 865 has adreno 650(587mhz) and dimensity 1200 has mali g77 mc9(886mhz) gpu.Adreno 650 is a dual core gpu and it is a super powerful renderer. It can easily handle heaviest games and graphics related activities. Mali g77 mc9 is a 9 core gpu.It is also a powerful gpu but far behind than adreno 650.adreno 650 is a top class gpu where mali g77 mc9 can be called a middle gpu.It has to struggle a lot at the time of doing heavy rendering or playing high graphics games. But with the combination of arm cortex A-78 cpu it's performance boosts a lot. Final verdict: In terms of cpu sd 865 is slightly better In terms of gpu sd 865 is better

All issues that ppl are talking about here could be due to firmware/drivers not being fully ironed because of hardware being so new. I am sure that things are getting sorted out already and D1200 is going to reach its full potential in few months when apps and games optimise as well as firmware.

The Mediatek Dimensity 1200 is unstable and the benchmarks are disappointing. It is easily bested in benchmarks by 4 generations of Qualcomm processors including the powerful 888, 870, 865+ and the 865. You have to go years back to the 855 to find a Qualcomm processor less powerful than the Dimensity 1200. More troubling is the system instability created by Mediatek overclocking the 1200 in an attempt to hide the weakness of their processor. Mediatek processors are fine for budget phones but tech savvy customers demand a powerful Qualcomm processor

PeeCee 12 August 2021 12:40
Well, I think you're right to some extent. On paper, the Dimensity 1200 should have outscored Snapdragon 865/865+/870 in CPU test because not only it is made of a 6nm node, compared to 7nm node of SD 865/870 but also utilises the newer, faster cortex a78 @ 3.0 Ghz. However, in the CPU test, the DM 1200 sometimes scores lower than SD 865/870 in both the single and multi-core test. Besides, being the flagship of Mediatek processor, DM 1200 should be equipped with Mali G78 GPU, with at least 10-12 cores, which will hugely improve the performance in turn, instead of the Mali G77 GPU. Ideally, Mediatek should have made DM 1200 composing of 2 x cortex a78 @ 3.15 Ghz + 2 x cortex a78 @ 2.6 Ghz + 4 x cortex a55 @ 2.2 Ghz with Mali G78 MP12 GPU, made, if possibly, of 5nm node, which would make it very competitive even with the SD 888, not to mention SD 965/870

But to be fair, it's ~5% behind the 870 and around 14% behind the 888. We can wait for the 870+/888+ and see how those do.
