The amount of cope and MTK hate in this comment field is absurd. They complain when MediaTek rebrand, they complain when they make huge improvements (look at the GPU and memory gains ALONE!). Finally people got a SoC with a capable GPU - which sparked the competition to start doing the same in the mid-range segment, yet they complain... They will complain about anything MTK does, that's why you should never take any of their advice - never. Do the opposite of what these types of people tell you. They also don't understand the basics that the stronger the GPU - the more power it will use - which translates to heat. They get their first SoC/GPU that can make you go from sub 60 to 120fps, but now they'll complain their phone heats up. Typical sub 50 IQ Qualcomm fanboys from a certain place. Embarrassing representation.

The 8200 excels in better optimization because it uses cortex a78 which might be old but fully optimized by developers.

How is it possible that dimensity 8200 has more Gflops than Dimensity 8300 seems like the information wikipedia is proving is wrong in my opinion Unless mediatek and ARM deliberately dont know what they are doing with gpu

That kind of generational improvement is amazing; however, one could argue that the 8200 had negligible improvement compared to the 8100.

I’m guessing that the 8300 will throttle quickly if its peak performance means excess heat, it is using some very high frequencies to achieve heady performance figures.

I don't believe so, because it was made by TSMC, not Samsung. TSMC chipsets are known for their exceptional thermal control.

Unknown, The device does throttle and becomes quite hot. However, it's not TSMC or MediaTek's fault. The real culprit here is the ARM team. Their new architectures, A715 and A510, are so bad in terms of efficiency that they're even worse than A78 and A55. They draw more power to achieve the same performance as the A78 and A55, respectively.

DunkKing, So, what do you suggest? Is the 8200 more suitable ? Or is the issue with the 8300 not noticeable during ordinary usage like browsing, etc..., and is only apparent during peak performance?

namor, The 8300 performs best when used with a proper heat control system, such as a vapor chamber cooling system. With this type of cooling, the 8300 won't experience throttling. I'm saying this because it does throttle a bit, but not as much as the 888 or 8 gen1, making it controllable.

Saadat, I own a Poco X6 Pro and a Xiaomi 13T. Whenever I play PUBG on smooth and 90fps for 40 minutes, both devices start overheating and the FPS drops. The 13T is manageable, but the X6 Pro gets so hot that it's difficult to hold with bare hands. What's the use in having such a high score if you can't use the full potential of the device due to these issues?

King Miracle., The Infinix GT 20 Pro has bypass charging. If you're a hardcore gamer, why would you choose the Poco X6 Pro, if it’s throttled and has no bypass charging? The GT 20 Pro has DDR5X in it, and 3.1 UFS.
