Off-topic, but this just reminded me that Samsung actually never sold a laptop with an AMD chip. They're collaborating when it comes to Exynos GPU Architecture though. Also wonder if they can bring FSR4 on 1680 (successor of this chip) which will likely have RDNA 4. It'd be nice. But then Samsung and AMD would need to collaborate with game studios regarding the FSR4 implementation on which they likely won't bother with since FSR4 rollout isn't as wide as Nvidia's DLSS.

Nope, only might come with RDNA 3.5. Filtered scores implies that.
If it continues with the same evolution curve, probably the exynos 1680 will reach 1,1/1,2 million points in antutu, a 25% increase with the CPU reaching 340K/380K (15/20%), while the GPU will reach 300/350K (20/25%).
The single core score reaching between 1500/1600 (10/15%), the multicore score being between 4100/4300 (10/15%) respectively, probably the configuration will be the same as 1+3+4 or 1+4+3 (1 prime core Cortex-A725/A720 running at 3/2.95/2.9GHz, 3 or 4 Cortex-A725A/720 running at 2.6GHz and 4 or 3 Cortex-A525/A520 running at 2GHz).
I confess that lately I am more excited for the launch of Samsung's Intermediate processors than any other brand, I would still like to see Samsung launch an intermediate SoC in the 2+4+2 configuration (2 Prime Cortex-A725/720 cores running at 3.0/2.8GHz, 4 Cortex-A725/720 intermediate cores running at 2.6/2.4GHz and 2 Cortex-A525/A520 energy efficiency cores at 2.0GHz) or in a more powerful configuration of 2+6 (2 Prime Cortex X4 cores at 3.0/2.8Gz and 6 cores. Cortex-A725/720 running at 2.6/2.4GHz)
The Exynos 1680 should be on par with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 vanilla. While SD 7 Gen 5 might be on par with the Plus version.
And seeing a 2+4+2 configuration could be the next step. I don't be surprised if is Mediatek approach next year for their Dimensity 7500.

Curious if Exynos 1680 would use (1+4+3) config: A725+A725+A520. And 3 nm. I've heard Samsung is making progress with its' 3 nm, but also they're reevaluating their position as a manufacturer. Might be the last chips made by Samsung. Which isn't a good thing - TSMC already has a huge market share and Intel is still behind / considers quitting lithography. If this comes to pass, TSMC will become world's most valuable company of all time!
Confirmed. Uses (1+4+3) config: A725+A725+A520. Is on Geekbench.

HijikataX, Nice. Yeah, saw ~ 4300 multi-core score on Geekbench, which is pretty good for a midrange SoC. With all the geopolitical turmoil going on nowadays, US brands may become very expensive. It's nice to have options.

So based on recent Antutu test, Exynos 1580 CPU can reach 300K which is pretty good, however the GPU score is 250K-270K. Its GPU is slightly stronger than SD 7 Gen 3 but still weaker than Exynos 2100 and SD 888 which is a bit disappointing really, I expect the GPU score to be also 300K.

GPU: Xclipse 540
Based on RDNA 3
256 Shaders
16 TMUs/ROPs
4 RT Cores
1300 MHZ
Max Gflops: 1331.2 In FP32 (256 SU X (2 Add + 2 Multiply) X 1300 MHZ)
BTW, the (2 Add + 2 Multiply) is due to the RDNA 3 architecture having 2 shader microprocessors for each
Other GPUs usually only have one, this includes the Apple silicon GPUs, the Qualcomm Adreno GPUs, the IMG aka PowerVR GPUs, and the Arm-Mail GPUs.

I am so curious about what is the GPU clock speed of Exynos 1580 & when i compared this soc to dimensity 8100 & 8200 it says that the GPU of exynos 1580 is better so i wonder if this is real that it has 1.3 or maybe 1.5 FP32 TFLOPS

What's the source of the technical details you listed? GPU manufacturers don't release the technical details of their GPUs to the general public.
I hope the A56 could sustain performance with less heat. The early antutu score leak is immature maybe the GPU score is near to SD7G3 or even slightly higher. If samsung could make Exynos get 300K+ on GPU score only, this A56 would be the beast among smartphones.

Can see a real winner here. Early tests show it's faster than 7s Gen 3, so... Yeah. Fairly happy with Samsung's midrange SoCs.

Zoom LensFebruary 10, 2025 at 02:14 PM
I don't think its a "real winner" by just simply faster than 7s gen 3. For upper midrange SoCs in 2025, the Antutu score should or must reach 1M+ Antutu score.
+4Reply
MrschFebruary 14, 2025 at 10:45 AM
Zoom Lens, Perhaps. But phones with 1M+ Antutu tend to cost > $ 400 where I live. The A55 can be bought for ~ $ 300, right now. Maybe a few months after the A56 launches, it might be found for a similar price. Besides, you can't really tell that much of a difference between mid-range and high-end SoCs these days. No point in spending more, unless you want to.

Mrsch, Reminder that the Samsung A56 is prepared by Samsung to rival the iPhone SE and Google Pixel 9a, all of which will be released at the same time and have the same price range, around $400+. The SoCs in the iPhone SE and Pixel 9a have proven to reach 1.1M+ AnTuTu scores. If the Exynos 1580 fails to reach 1M+, then the A56 has already lost against its competitors.

Pixell, It is absolutely not in the same price range. Iphone 16e in Europe costs around €700, much more than usa while the A5X series usually starts at €500 and you can find it even at less than 300€ by the summer, 4-5 months later.

Pixell, It will not be meant to rival 16e or pixel 9a. S24 FE is meant to rival both of them. It has 1.5M+ on antutu, and overall better experience than iphone 16e and pixel 9a could give.

Maybe bacause there are no phone released with Exynos 1580 yet? Exynos 1580 GPU use the same architecture as Exynos 2400 (RDNA 3) with 2 WGP instead of 6, and with Exynos 1480 gaming is already on par or slightly below SD 7 Gen 3, I'd expect 40+ gaming performance.

Hičilk, Both 1280 and 850 were total jokes for the price/performance and heat and its a very widely known fact. Why even bother glazing such bad chipsets? (You said their budget chips weren't thermal throttling)
Checked many throttling tests and both exynos 1280 and 1380 both were way hotter than their equelivents and was experiencing substantial lack of optimization while oppening apps (exynos 1380 vs dimensity 1080 is a classic example for this).
Youtube is filled to brim with proof over these exynosses gasping for air during heavy use while mediatek/snapdragon counter parts not strugling much (even 1480 is a bit warmer than snapdragon 7s gen 3 but the diffirence is insignicifant)
+2Reply
KauçukNovember 30, 2024 at 02:12 PM
Zero, Yea but they have opted for 7 gen 1 it seems which is manufactured by Samsungs litography. This chipset did heat back in the day but Snapdragon 720G (another samsung manufactured chip) was never as hot as exynos 1280 so we can expect to be a middle of the road thermals from it. (There was even some speculations of them using 7s Gen 3 but it is too good to be true due to the price and how new the chip is)

Hičilk, From my testing with the A54 it has 63% stability in Genshin under room temperature of 22 °C.
The CPU or GPU stability tests are never accurate to the actual usage because they only max out a single component, which is very unrealistic and not representative of any form of possible usage.
Today my A54 throtted significantly by multitasking Instagram, Reddit, and Discord. Room temperature was unknown but couldn't have been above 25 °C. The battery hit 38 °C and the SoC hit 80 °C.
The 1380 has SIGNIFICANT throttling issues.
