Similar CPU performance, but I give the edge to Snapdragon X Elite because Windows/Linux allows for SSDs to be upgraded and far more work-related software runs on Windows. Users do not have to adjust their whole software choices for MacOS. Also, gaming since gaming brings in more revenue than the music industry & movie industry.

games or apps that runs on windows on ARM will run on the apple silicon macbook too with decent performance (using Parallels Desktop). So you get both MacOS and Windows (or Linux) with a MacBook. The only problem is that games won't run very well even on Windows on ARM, not much games support for it.
