D9500 clearly beat SD 8 Elite Gen 5 interms of raw performance on benchmark but Dimensity always been trap in only on play store biggest games title while SD 8 Elite Gen 5 got a dev community support especially on emulating a PC Steam Games. Biggest issue lies on GPU itself make more troublesome figuring out about Dimensity GPU Architecture and how it works because its close source. Dev have no idea how to make config make it work will on Dimensity especially in emulation and future mobile games; unless directly to contact Mediatek like Kuro did when their games like Wuwa mobile noturious have issue on vulkan driver on dimensity especially you tried enabled frame gen and switching vulkan api over OpenGL and they got a source code access so that they can able to do some config on it,but not everyone have kind of privilege. Overall Snapdragon flagship have always got spotlight for most mobile gamers want to used up full capability of that chipset not only on android games on play store but emulation etc....

The contest between Qualcomm snapdragon 8 gen 5 vs Media Tek dimensity 9500 is fierce competition at it's best with no clear cut winner. You could very well flip a coin as to which to buy. For me I went with Qualcomm but that's only because Qualcomm has been around longer than Media Tek.

Awa, Dimensity is worse not because it performs worse, but because there are little to none open source drivers for the GPUs so developers have a very hard time trying to optimize emulation for Dimensity chips.

I used phones with both CPUs of these and I saw NO difference. Literally none in daily tasks and gaming. MediaTek did run slightly cooler, though. That's it. Both are great.

There's one big difference between Qualcomm and MediaTek since the last decade and it's going to stay the same. β€’ MediaTek is chasing efficiency (low power consumption with high stability). This is noticable not only in phones but in routers equipped with MediaTek processors. That's their main goal at least at the moment. β€’Now, MediaTek doesn't manufacture their own GPU, Arm mali on the other hand is an ass closed source company that doesn't releass source code for SOC insider to build something good for them, they're not only facing this on Android but on Linux as well, and it lacks compatibility compared to Snapdragon's adreno. Snapdragon CPU and GPU is much more matured and has been studied by many because it was open source. MediaTek and Arm isn't open source hence poor compatibility. β€’ Also MediaTek Dimensity is new in the game. Their CPU schedule engine (version 1) integrated in Dimensity lineup (upto Dimensity 9400+) sucks because it schedules almost everything on the bigger core ( which is only one). It kinda sucks so they changed the algorithm with the Dimensity 9500 and 9500s (which uses version 2 scheduler) β€’ Snapdragon has the heart of the emulation community. Mobile games on the other hand, MediaTek is on neck to neck with Snapdragon while consuming less power so MediaTek is ideal for mobile gamers who prioritize longer gameplay session with less power consumption. β€’ Snapdragon is known for unlocked performance amd MediaTek is known for its higher efficiency. At the end of the day it all depends on what you want. β€’ For emulation, maybe ARM will fix issues related to their GPU to combat with adreno in the future, but for now Snapdragon is far ahead in terms of emulation compatibility. Verdict: For native android games you can definitely rely on MediaTek for better efficiency and good thermals. For raw performance and emulation compatibility, definitely Snapdragon. Anyone who's interested in mobile gaming alone can go for MediaTek for solid long gameplay sessions. For championship mode either of them performs really well.

The debate is in the comments, so I'll try to settle the matter: So, these are two real competitors, and they both offer different options. Let's imagine the 9500 is a Mercedes, and the Elite Gen 5 is a BMW. The former: comfort, stability, and reliability. The latter: speed, power, and excitement. The 9500 certainly has better AI, and the Vivo has better photo and video capabilities. I played two games of PUBG in power-saving mode at a stable 120 fps and the battery only dropped 5%. The phone wasn't even warm. Meanwhile, the Elite Gen 5 runs heavy computer games on an emulator at high settings, even in Directx 12. πŸ˜„. MTK is still struggling with this, Mali has driver issues and custom drivers like the Adreno (turnip) simply aren't available and won't be In the near future, since ARM doesn't plan to change anything. If you only play Android games, the 9500 is perfectly fine, but you won't be able to run Resident Evil 8-9 or Cyberpunk on it.

Leverall days, I was playing Warzone on my Lenovo Legion (8+Gen1) without any issue then Activision stopped supporting Android 12. so I bought Iqoo Z9 Turbo+ (D9300+). the phone coudn't handle warzone, I had the same Issue I had with the google pixel 6... characher scattering on screen (falling under the map, enemy look like boxes), game crashes, the whole game UI falling apart, I check youtube and I found out many phones that house the processor have the same problem inclduing Samsung Tab, Xiaomi etc. then I Install fortnight, pixel and bad grapchis, slow and crash, I lost $120 selling the phone then I got myself Iqoo Neo10 (8Gen3), zero issue... now! no matter how power dimensity is, am not getting it..

The reason why these mediatek fanboys became fanboys in the first place because thier phone chip is mediatek, and there is more mediatek than snapdragon because its mass produced and cheap and easy to make but with lower life span and weaker performance long term, its 2026 and people still dont see the pattern, if im wrong then why do big brand companies used the best snapdragon form thier most ultra device even though mediatek could save them cost even though you all claim its "neck to neck", before you call me unbiased i have poco x6 pro and x 7 pro which both have mediatek socs

Unique, That was actually a Dimensity 9300+ issue at that time. It happened on each device equipped with 9300+. 9400+ is excellent, 9500s also good and very affordable. That particular issue was warzone issue and they even stopped development because the game sucks. They're now integrating warzone features into codm which caused same glitches for most users. MediaTek Dimensity right now is better price/performance you'll ever get. I'll still buy 9500s or even 9400+ at a cheaper price which can play every game available at ultra graphics.

So by the same logic you're saying the reason why Snapdragon Fanboys became Fanboys is because they use Snapdragon? Lol this is the weakest come back I've seen on this site. MediaTek is actually good. When you hate something you don't say anything good about it that's all. In real life MediaTek have better thermals and much more stability in gaming from my personal experience. If you're talking about PC and switch emulation then that's where MediaTek syncs. For native gaming it's actually better. ZZZZ was freezing on Snapdragon 8 elite gen 5 in a video I saw now I'm reconsidering whether to buy it or not

Then why not buy SD. ?? Mediatek lifespan Depends on what brand/Processor series you choose. Bro hate Mediatek becuase you're stuck with 8000s You're definitely day dreaming (SD) if you're that destitute just tell us try prooving that series Poco is for affordability before X8 was release following after a month price hike. The dimensity 9500+ is just a slightly overclock version of dimensity 9500 which doesn't change much of the experience you have just like the 8 elite gen 5 and 8 elite gen 5 for galaxy.

It's funny how people still compare dimensity and snapdragon when both of them offer valuable performance to users without a noticeable difference between performance we'll only in real world scenarios such us gaming and daily use. I might get attack by snapdragon fans because of the "emulator" support that snapdragon gives. Bro it's 2026 and some of you guys still think mediatek doesn't support emulators? And I know that not all dimensity suppors emulator unlike snapdragon but come on you gotta give them an applause after making the 9000 series eligible to play emulators. All it needs is a support from the devs.

Update your Geekbench 6 score for the Qualcomm 8 elite gen 5 thats score is from the test phone, and also pls change the dimensity 9500 AnTuTu score u choose the lowest score to display, those scores are from phones without performnce mode on, u have like 2 score wirh 3.7 mil and other with 3.6 mil choose 1 of those scores,u make MediaTek look bad.

Gram Joll, u are stupid, ill give the answear Ultra phones use Qualcomm cuz thats what the people usualy want, before MediaTek was an actual competitor Qualcomm dominated the market and people just trust more Qualcomm. MediaTek is stable in gaming cuz after the 9300 line up they changed the strategy and instead of trying to be stronger than Qualcomm, they try to be eficient while giving the same performance as them meaning better stability in longer runs, the only notable difference is optimization straight out of the box, Qualcomm is already more optimized by some application/games devs, while MediaTek has to wait a bit longer to have those optimizations, also MediaTek is cheaper to manufacture so phone producers try to add with those extra money some better cooling or stupid/usefull features. Overall u have to choose American engineering vs Taiwan engineering. And who gives u an better deal I hope my answear satisfied you.

Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 is the fastest and most efficient SoC in the market right now. It excels in performance and image signal processing best for photography and videography, while Dimensity 9,500 is good in overall performance and excels in GPU for better graphics displayed in screen. But in overall aspect as of today, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is better than Dimensity 9,500 because most software developers prefers Qualcomm CPU's in making apps with efficiency. That means apps running for Qualcomm performs and more stable better than Mediatek.

Aad, No, the dual-cell battery doesn't work that way; the consumption is fixed (those watts it consumes are due to the game running, the processor, and other components like the speaker). The function of dual-cell batteries is to allow them to withstand a higher energy load from the charger.
