See it's true in some areas like single core performance and GPU but snapdragon is king in pc emulation. You can play AAA Pc games on natively on mobile which apple's bionic processors lack. Not for average users but very useful for gamers
Finally!
This is the full test result we all needed.
It's nice to see the Nanoreview team fully reevaluating the entire chips ranking. Not badπ

In addition to having an h.266 decoder, this system introduced for the first time hardware support for the professional APV (Advanced Professional Video) codec - Samsung.
Application: Used to record video in extremely high quality for professional processing (post-production). It has a very high bitrate and minimal loss, but the files take up a lot of space.
The difference: APV is a "production" codec, while AV1 is a "distribution" codec (streaming, YouTube) to keep files as small as possible while maintaining quality.
World first: This is the first mobile chip with native hardware acceleration for this standard developed by Samsung.
Recording capabilities (Encoder): Enables video recording in "near-lossless" quality, which positions it as a direct competitor to the Apple ProRes format.
Technical parameters:
Supports resolutions up to 8K.
Color depth from 10-bit to 16-bit.
Supports 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 color sampling.
Performance 10% better in file size compared to Apple ProRes and 20% better than standard HEVC.
Oh! this website is poor. Admin, you don't know how to use artificial intelligence?
Snapdragon 8 elite and 8 elite gen 5 have no L3 caches.

ClutchFebruary 25, 2026 at 06:29 AM
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5's Level 2 Cache is split into two 12MB clusters: one dedicated to the two Prime cores, the other exclusive to the six Performance cores. I hope you guys will update this information for clarification; a simple "x2" will do.
In Qualcomm's Oryon Gen 3 architecture, there is no "L3" cache inside the CPU clusters. Instead, there is a System-Level Cache (SLC) that serves the entire SoC. The capacity of this SLC is 8MB. I think making this distinction clear during listings is crucial because calling it an "L3 Cache" when everything from the ISP to the NPU can also hog it could be quite misleading. Calling the SLC "L3 Cache" implies CPU ownership.
Additionally, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 has an 18MB High Performance Memory (HPM) cache dedicated to the GPU. I don't know what sort of software-reporting nonsense went on for the "L3 Cache" to be labeled with a 16MB capacity, but the software probably got confused by the Oryon architecture and combined the SLC with some other shared on-die memory to create that weird amalgamation.

It's incredible that despite not having efficiency cores, the Honor Magic 8 pro is more efficient than the Oppo find X9 pro, with a larger battery and also better temperatures and stability. The same thing happens when compared to the Vivo X300 pro; the Honor Magic 8 pro is more efficient and runs cooler than those two, as well as the OnePlus 15 and Realme GT 8 pro. There are several comparisons and tests in which the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is more efficient and has better temperatures in those phones compared to phones with the Dimensity 9500, despite of having efficiency cores.
I would like to see Snapdragon significantly improve its GPU in the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and, with rumors of a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 "Pro," it will be better for AAA games.

why nano review community doesnt use antutu version 11

It is because antutu scores get inflated to hide the diminishing returns. Smartphones are no longer getting 2x or 3x better every generation so they have to artificially pump up numbers to make it look like it's a great increase.

Just use a games at 1440p and use the average fps and processor utilization and unreasonable power consumption and heat generation should count against the score as heat generation and power consumption matters in a cellphone as cheating is a lot harder when you can't optimize for the benchmark and a company who decides to overclock the hell out of the soc in their phone would be punished because of the unreasonable amount of heat and energy consumption would lower their scores instead of boosting them thus making cheating by overclocking in benchmarks not a viable strategy
I'm disappointed that it's the same 800 series GPU architecture was used in this chipset the same to previous SD 8 Elite Gen 4. The only big upgrade is the CPU margin while the GPU only moved an inch. bigger GPU might be useless to some people but thr higher the GPU the better because games nowadays are becoming heavier time to time.

AnTuTu scores are a complete joke, a rotten scam dressed up as βperformance testing.β Only fools worship these empty numbers. They mean NOTHING. Zero. They donβt show speed, they donβt show stabillity, they donβt show how a device actually feels in your hands. They are hollow digits vomited out by a broken system.
Manufacturers rig the results, cheat the tests, and laugh while people swallow the bait. And you know what? Every time someone brags about a higher AnTuTu score, theyβre bragging about NOTHING. Itβs pathetic. Itβs embarrassing. Itβs like fighting over who has the biggest pile of trash.
Weβre DONE with this fake circus. AnTuTu is poison to real progress. It fools customers, empowers liars, and insults anyone who actually cares about technology.
So hereβs the truth: AnTuTu scores are worthless. Anyone who still uses them to judge devices is being played for a fool.

Antutu is still usefulFebruary 9, 2026 at 05:00 PM
While I don't take totals seriously (because it is just the sum of test scores lumped together), Antutu is still useful at measuring the maximum capabilities of a phone. You just have to look at the breakdown and then identify the test methodology.
I agree that those who take the numbers at face value are fools, but you are also a fool for being unable to contextualize the numbers produced.
"They donβt show speed, they donβt show stabillity, they donβt show how a device actually feels in your hands." Correct.
"They are hollow digits vomited out by a broken system." Nope. You are just not smart.

Fine yeah whatever CPU performance is better, but in terms of GPU performance they basically made no improvement. Still uses 1536 shaders at 1.2GHz, which is only a 100MHz improvement, giving around 3.6 TFLOPS. It's like they just used the previous Adreno 830 but made it more efficient and increased it's click speed by 100MHz.
For starter, GPU cache increased from a total of 12MB to 18MB, not to mention probably architectural improvements here and there as well.

Underwhelming? You're lost. You're comparing the performance of a chipset that was announced yesterday to a phone already available to the public, devs havent even had a chance to optimize anything for the chip. But to say it's underwhelming just proves you're a moron, it'll handle literally anything you throw at it. I can say the same thing about an iPhone since it still can't record at 8k.

Keanu, They literally didn't update the Ray tracing cores at all, and also the Dimensity 9500 launched on September 22nd, no one has had an opportunity to optimize their games for either chips. Qualcomm didn't upgrade their GPU while Mediatek had a 112% or roughly 2 times improvement. And if you're comparing raw raster performance, the 8 elite Gen 5 stills loses.
3d Mark Steel Nomad light:
8 Elite Gen 5: ~3100
A19 pro: ~3000
Dimensity 9500: ~ 3500
M4: ~3400
Keanu, Antutu SD 8 elite Gen 5 is said to have a score of 4,200,000 million, in fact it doesn't exist yet. SD 8 elite Gen 5 is made of V8 architecture. While Exynos 2600, Mediatek dimensty 9500, apple A19 bionic series are built on ARM V9 architecture. Even Mediatek dimensty 9500 and Exynos 2600 are built on ARM V9.3 architecture.
Sigmatolet, even samsung exynos 2600 (steel nomad light 3.135 score is higher than soc SD 8 elite Gen 5) hardware is still not final version, custom gpu has not been explained using gpu amd rdna 3 or amd rdna 4.

Keanu, The Dimensity 9500 was released on September 22nd and still destroys the 8 Elite Gen 5, which released the day after. No one has had an opportunity to optimize their games for either of these chips. It's a synthetic benchmark; you can't optimize chips for it. Qualcomm barely made an improvement while MediaTek tripled their Raytracing from last gen, then beat the Apple M4 is raw GPU performance, and went from 20,000 on Geekbench Vulkan to 45,000 all while consuming less power than the 8 Elite Gen 5. Qualcomm has no excuse whatsoever.

No , this is almost the max single core score in actual devices you'll get lower , 8 elite gen 5 heats up quite a bit they'll definitely underclock it , and it's not that much efficient so I guess you'll get around 3400 single core and from 10500 to 11500 Multi-core.

Santiagobb, LPDDR6 specs were published by JEDEC last July, here is the important info:-
Speed 10667-14400 MT/s.
Density (per chip) 512MB-8GB.
It should start hitting the market in Mid 2026.
