They are all scaled down. From what chip I don't know. For economic reasons, all are seemed to be the same chips but with different frequencies and some parts deactivated for the 7 chips.

tbh both are from snapdragon so it won't make a huge difference, 7 series might have better battery but 8 series can hit higher numbers in general, you won't feel the difference in average day to day routine and even in gaming there on par, its only these intensive benchmark which differentiates otherwise go with 7 series as they have better battery otherwise for if you just want a flagship then 8s gen3 is to go for as they will be equipped with better display, cooling and cameras in general

The snapdragon 8s gen 3 just looks like an overclocked version of the 7 plus gen 3 with some add ons. Is it worth the premium price - No For average user it will not be a difference. That is my opinion.

I think that the AV1 decode it's key feature to think. It's a shame it's not on line 7 yet. Netflix, YouTube and PrimeVideo are forcing AV1 even on devices that don't have a decoder, I read that software decoder has improved a lot this year with libdav1d, but it will still consume more power than hardware decoder

Somewhere somebody had claimed that only difference between 8 Gen 2 V/S 8 Gen 3, 8S Gen 3, 7+ Gen 3 is that besides some negligible performance numbers 8 Gen 3 and 8S Gen 3 supported in-chip i.e. in-phone AI. I really don't understand it. But, what I understand is AI on the phone now is basically Google without having to dive into the volume of search options and having to perform the task it just does it. Due to interface and form factor restrictions it's only a breeze to work with AI on the PC, say for photo, video, doc editing and creation. So basically these new chips are the first step in new direction and not necessarily a major step up to necessitate an upgrade. So my preference would be any 8 plus 2 phone at a bargain price would be best option for the next 4 to 5 years.

Why snapdragon, WHY?! Why you made a fucking chipset like snapdragon 7+ gen 3? I think the snapdragon 7+ gen 3 should note be made. Because its peformance and feature is very similiar to the 8s gen 3. And i think again, in terms of daily use, even brutal use like playing game genshin impact for hours. The difference between the 7+gen3 and 8s gen 3 chipsets is very minimal. That's all my complaints about these two chipsets. I hop its helps, see you😁

Not sure about you, but here in Malaysia, Poco F6 is around the same price as the 7+ Gen 3 offerings, if not cheaper. It has 12+512GB storage, but the others only offer 256GB. Need to pay up much more for bigger storage. Try checking for deals to get the 8S Gen 3.

Kriri, Poco F6 cheaps out on basically everything else, aside from chipset, to hit that price point. Poco F6 vs. the Realme GT 6T: 8s Gen 3 vs. 7+ Gen 3 120Hz 2400 nits OLED vs. 120Hz 6000 nits LTPO OLED Single Camera LED vs. Dual Camera LED 20MP selfie vs. 32MP selfie 4800mm copper plate vs. 10014mm copper plate Single GPS vs. dual GPS 5000mAh battery vs. 5500mAh battery 2x vibration motor vs. 3x vibration motor HyperBloat vs. RealBloat UI And, also due to said HyperBloat, the Poco F6 throttles pretty badly and performs almost exactly the same as a 7+ Gen 3 phone. I think you get my point by now.

justno, The only valid points here are the larger copper plate and the extra 500mAh. The other comparisons are wrong (F6 also has dual LED) or useless (MP comparison on camera, both nits numbers are commercial and not true). Additional GPS and motor are nice to have but not that important. At the end, they are pretty much equivalent. One should choose considering personal preferences and local price.

Since I'm not an avid gamer, I think I might prefer snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 to 8s Gen 3, if 7+ Gen 3 is more power efficient than 8s Gen 3. I think snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 will be powerful enough to handle any tasks thrown at it with ease because it features X4 core, A720 core and A520 core, just like Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 8s Gen 3 SoC. So, I'm perfectly happy with a phone using snapdragon 7 plus gen 3 and I think I might buy Realme GT 6T, preferably the 12GB + 256GB version. What I like about Realme GT 6T is (1) display - 1.5K AMOLED, HDR+ and 6000 nits brightness. I also like the slim bezel of the phone, too (2) LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0, which will, combined with snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 definitely make the phone snappy, smooth and super fast, and lastly but not least (3) 5,500 mAh with 120W fast charging. I think the company advertises that it takes around 26 minutes to charge the phone from 0% - 100%. I usually charge my phone when the battery reaches 35% to 30%. So, let's say I start charging when the battery is at 30% and I think it will take around 20 minutes - 24 minutes to fully charge it, which would be great. So, yes, I think I'll buy Realme GT 6T, though I love Motorola edge 50 Pro, especially the looks and the IP68 rating. Between Realme GT 6T and Motorola Edge 50 Pro, Realme GT 6T is the faster and more powerful phone while Motorola Edge 50 Pro is equipped with IP68 rating water resistant and the camera might be a bit better, too, especially the 3 x optical zoom telephoto lens with OIS. In terms of battery, Motorola has only 4500 mAh but has a little faster 125W charger while Realme has 5500 mAh with 120W charger. However, I think Motorola is a little more power efficient than Realme because it uses snapdragon 7 Gen 3 only while Realme uses 7+ Gen 3, which is much powerful than 7 Gen 3 and will, in turn, use more power, I think. However, I love the looks of Motorola Edge 50 Pro especially the Black Beauty version. Price is almost the same and I'm not so sure which one I'll go for, Realme GT 6T or Motorola Edge 50 Pro. I think I'll just go with my gut feeling

6,000 nits is more like a marketing gimmick (every phone company does it), the highest possible brightness one pixel can emit, when all conditions are met in the lab. People shouldn't decide buying based on that. The same thing applies to advertised charging speeds. If you are going to be using it as a daily driver or primary device, you should be checking things like the number of 5G bands, color consistency of the cameras, and maybe HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision, too, if you view that kind of content regularly.

But why do you want to spend more money on a lower processor? Because here in India, Poco F6 is offering 8S Gen 3, and its price is 23,999 (8+256). But on the other hand, Realme GT 6T is offering 7+ Gen 3 and its price is 31,999 (8+128). Also, Poco has Dolby support in both screen and speaker.

The 8s Gen 3 is actually the 7+ Gen 3, or you could call it the 7+ Gen 3 Pro. They are closer when compared to the 8 Gen 3. This isn't new -- they've done this before with the Snapdragon 865, 865+ and 870, using only one chipset. This is a marketing scam, much like MediaTek's renaming scam. It's easy to spot the recycled chipset and where it came from: - Cortex combination used - Fabrication process (nm) - Manufacturer (TSMC, Samsung) - Instruction set architecture If all these factors are similar, then it's a recycled chip. Beebom, a famous tech YouTuber, already proved it. They conducted a technical test on the 8s Gen 3, 7+ Gen 3, and the 8 Gen 3. The results showed that the 8s Gen 3 is far from the 8 Gen 3, falling between the 8 Gen 2 and 7+ Gen 3. The 7+ Gen 3 is very similar to the 8s Gen 3, compared to the 8 Gen 3 which has a different Cortex combination.

I was thinking the same. Thanks for confirming this. 8s Gen 3 is priced almost 20 to 30% higher than the 7 Plus Gen 3. I saw the difference between 7 Plus Gen 3 and 7 Gen 3 was huge, but these two were so close. Now I know.

None, I think snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is superior to snapdragon 8s Gen 3 in GPU only, not in CPU. Yes, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 might be negligibly faster than 8s Gen 3 but they are more or less the same in performance, in CPU and the difference in performance would not be noticeable. But snapdragon 8 Gen 2's Adreno 740 is, I think, around 5% - 8% faster than 8s Gen 3's Adreno 735. I'm not an avid gamer and I prefer 8s Gen 3 to 8 Gen 2 because 8s Gen 3 utilises X4 core while 8 Gen 2 utilises X3 core.

PeeCee, Qualcomm is just playing a game. Why don't just use a better GPU for the 8S Gen 3? Something like the Adreno 745? That's why MediaTek is taking the crown. Small improvements with a big difference!

Edu, He is ignorant. 8S Gen 3 GPU is the OC version of 7Plus Gen 3 which means it's stronger. Based on all the reviews, it doesn't affect the thermal. It still has good thermal performance with no heating issues while having stronger GPU performance. So, 8S Gen 3 deserves to be the flagship. 8+ Gen 1 and 7 Plus Gen 3 are the peak of the mid-range. If there is something stronger than them, it's a flagship already.

The SD 7+ Gen 3 supports Wi-Fi 7 and BT 5.4; it's clearly stated on their page. Unfortunately, NanoReview has provided incorrect information. The memory frequency is the same as the 8S Gen 3 - 4200MHz. Moreover, the ARM version of the 7 Plus Gen 3 is 9.2. You have provided incorrect information about this as well.
