I plan on using it for video editing mainly. The difference that I researched is marginal. The 7950X3D is geared for gaming and uses less power. The 7950X is geared for performance but uses more power. With this one you have fiddle around with the settings to set some limits to prevent throttling and shutdown. Overall the difference is 1% to 4% in the different use scenarios between the two CPU's. Marginal in my opinion. Not a huge difference in price either.

If we maximize the OC capabilities of both, will the 7950x get better results than the 7950x3d?
