D8400 was a bin of the D8500, I'm 90% sure of that. I guess nothing will beat the D8300 in terms of generational gains. That GPU especially crushed the D8200. While D8400 refined the CPU performance over D8300. D8500 is so disappointing to look at, especially when it's from a line that completely changed the mid-range segment entirely. The only positive about the D8500 is that it's barely throttling at all in the X8 Pro, which is thanks to the aluminum frame.

Dimensity 8500 is solid in every way good performance, stable gaming, better battery efficiency and smoother daily use without too much heating

Yeah man, 8300 still going strong maybe heating up a bit more when gaming but everyday use it's great. Glad i picked 8300 instead of 8200. 8400 and 8500 kinda underwhelming for me still, probably not until they produce 8000 series in 3nm will i check them again, but until that im good with my 8300 haha

DM9500 is already using the new C series ARM cores. DM8500 should've been: 1x 3.xGhz C1 Premium 3x 3.xGhz C1 Pro 4x 2Ghz C1 Pro

Would it really be worth it to upgrade from a D8400 to a D8500? I mean it's basically just an overclocked version but also with an extra gpu core. Well, maybe you're gonna see a difference on heavy games like Genshin or WuWa, but if you're doing normal everyday tasks then you won't see it.

It's not a huge generational upgrade, if you already have the 8400 then don't, wait for the 8600-8700.

Those results from the 8400 are of the old antutu, new version give almost 2million.

MUSHERO, You are completely wrong, the Dimension 8500 was in Antutu 11.

Dont believe huge jump in gpu scores its because of different antutu versions , its basically like 10% around better than 8400 , and should be equal to 8 gen 2 or 8s gen 3 , last year 8s gen 4 is still king in mid range to budget mobiles.

upgrade from MEDIATEK DIMENSITY 8400 to MEDIATEK DIMENSITY 8500 only changes is higher CPU clock speed, 8 core GPU upgraded from 7 crore GPU, but downgraded 5.4 bluetooth from 6.0, refinement

The D8300 represents a significant leap in GPU performance due to its use of the new Valhall 4 architecture compared to its predecessor, the D8200. The same applies to the D8400, which added an extra GPU core and used the new Valhall 5 architecture, while the CPU utilizes an all-big-core design similar to the D9300. While single-core performance didn't increase significantly, multi-core performance was very impressive. Given the valuable upgrades from the previous two generations, it's not surprising that many were disappointed with the D8500. What I noticed is the D8500 CPU. They can't just keep overclocking the A-cores indefinitely and making them perform like X-cores. Continuous overclocking without optimization will easily lead to overheating and throttling, resulting in a poor user experience. They might use X-cores next year, or perhaps ARM will release the A730, or the D8600 will use a 3nm process and continue overclocking the A725.

There's nothing wrong with slightly improving an existing chip; it was already quite good in its segment. Commentators point this out, but they forget that Qualcomm also likes to do this. That's normal; manufacturers don't release something radically new every year. Again, for a reasonable price, these are decent processors. Some say they're below average, but that's completely stupid. They're no worse in terms of stability than Snapdragon, and they'll be sufficient for most people in everyday mobile games. Again, don't forget the price. Most people won't even notice the difference. Of course, a Snapdragon with the same performance will be better, but usually, those are either very hot stoves or the device with it is more expensive. Although the Poco F7 was suspiciously cheap during the November sales, I don't know why. I'm planning to buy something on Snapdragon this year if I can. If not, I'll probably get something simpler with this MTK to tide me over. I might even get the POCO X8 Pro if it's cheap because I could have picked up the X7 Pro recently for about $190, but that might be because it was released a few months ago. The X8 Pro probably won't be that cheap at launch and the first 2-3 months, I don't know, but we'll see. I haven't been a big fan of POCOs lately, but when you want something more or less powerful and reasonably priced, there's usually nothing better, except for the Chinese versions of various iQoo devices, which I wouldn't even consider buying. I'm only talking about global devices.

They just overclocked the existing Dimensity 8400 and increased the Gpu extra1 core. In real world use, Mediatek dimensity perform below average, and now the same is happening with snapdragon chips too. I donโ€™t remember after Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Dimensity 8200 any really good midrange, best chip coming out.

So GPU finally got the 8 pipelines Since the last time we got 8 or 9 pipelines was Dimensity 1100 to 1300 series and 8020 and 8050 Tho the Single core only gain 157+1571=1728 still not close to Snapdragon 7plus gen 3 single core Lets just wait how sustain this SoC on real use specially on gaming

Dimensity 8500 is seems just a overclock version of D8400 but ,. But actually is a wise step of MediaTek to reduce cost of Chips in this year ! The overclock version of D8500 also actually better than its previous version on all basis ! But I also hping that new MediaTek using C1 pro cores instead of old A725 cores ! But it's increase the cost of Chips . So , it's fine ! Mostly Dimensity 8500 is strong chipset under 30k segment for gaming and all round smartphone! How is your POV guys ! Really MediaTek fool us or a wise step , according to this year !
