It doesn't matter how much performance the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 has, at its launch the 4nm node of Samsung was not refined and suffered from overheating issues (which reduced performance) as well as very poor watts efficiency. Despite being inferior on paper, the Exynos 1480’s 4nm node is now well-refined and should not suffer from the issues I mentioned earlier.

True. S8G1 only excels in terms of GPU and maybe some AI features. If you're not playing games (or playing Crossy Road and such), the 1480 will serve you better.

As a 8 gen 1 user, with an edge plus 2022, you're right, if you're not into playing games and doing heavy stuff with ur phone, this SoC and the Exynos 2200 are rnot the best options due to the problems with samsung's first generation of 4nm litographic process (4LPE as far as i remember) causing really bad battery life and overheating, or extreme throttling of the performance in the case of the samsung devices, due to this company more conservative governor that is focused towards battery life. For basic use, the dimensity 8100, 8200 ultra or this SoC would be better options.
