You'll get better gaming performance on SD 8 Gen 2 despite the benchmarks stating otherwise. This is because game developers will prioritise more popular SoCs to save time and money. There's not many phone models using Exynos SoCs so they'll just give you the bare minimum general optimisation. The only devs I've seen make chip-specific optimisations for 2400 are the PUBG devs. Codm is still stuck on 90fps instead of 120fps in BR despite 2400 being more slightly powerful than 8 gen 2 in raw performance. 8 gen 2 with arena breakout you can max out graphics and still get 120fps. So if you plan on gaming on a Samsung, always opt for the Snapdragon variant.

All these rubbish talk of exynos being poor in battery efficiency + heating. Its all propaganda made by gaming losers. Buy and use one to know the difference. I still have the s21+ with E2100 and its running well without any issues, in fact the battery lasts for its yesteryear standards. There's no major decline in its efficiency. And thats 4 years old. Recently I got the S24+ where samsung are clearing stocks of demo units. It is also running without any issues and the battery lasts me almost 3 days with normal usage. The only downside is the charging speed regulation cause 70% of the time it charges at 15-20w. It only uses the 35-45w @ 20% battery to 40%. Everything above that it regulates back to 15w. Its really annoying. But I guess thats how samsung flagship phone batteries last for at least for 4-5 years. If your concern is about battery efficiency and heating, stop worrying. It works absolutely fine, not sure about gaming, you need to check with the losers of mobile phone gaming

So true bro although u have way faster chipset than me, my exynos 1380 also feel smooth and gives a really good performance in day to day tasks and even some high end games, I head people say it gets hotter but in reality snapdragon gets more hotter than exynos cuz I have 7 gen 2 phone and it throttles so quickly cuz it has poor thermal management, but yeah exynos is not bad at all

Why nobody talks about Modems for connectivity ? It is very critical for daily phone usage . My s24 is struggling for maintaining 5g in rural areas where my friends oneplus with snapdragon processor stays in 5g with very high speed network.

kem, Not only WiFi , snapdragon performs better in low network areas , where snapdragon give consistent 5g speed , Exynos struggling with maintaining 5g and continuous switched to 4g .

We should all be talking about MediaTek, a chip that is far more powerful, energy-efficient, and superior in thermal performance than any other in the world. Users around the globe don't just need flagship chips, they also require sub-premium, mid-range, and low-end options. It's unfortunate that no other brand seems to offer anything in these ranges.

Bro, I swear Exynos and Kirin are more and more powerful than any chip and Dimensity Media is also strong. But my friend, it is the propaganda used by *a country without mentioning names* which has its own interest in its own companies (Apple - Snapdragon - Google) to be the first in the technical field, especially the processors and chips for artificial intelligence and other technology that will dominate the world in the coming years.

If you have a Samsung S23 in the UK, there is no reason to upgrade to S24 at all. There is barely any improvement thanks to Samsung dumping an Exynos chip in.

BOB, Samsung's preorder and trade-in offers make it seemingly worthwhile to upgrade, if the S24 were a substantial upgrade, which it's not by any means. I could have ordered the S24 with an attractive preorder offer: - Free storage upgrade from 128GB to 256GB, which means paying 899€ instead of 959€ (here in Germany) - A student discount of 15%, reducing the price to 765€ - Trade-in offer for my S23, including a trade-in bonus of 50€, amounting to 450€. This brings the total price down to 315€. - A 1-year free Samsung Care, normally priced at 60-80€ In comparison with other companies like Apple, these are rather attractive offers. However, the S24's Exynos chip in Europe is not noticeably better than the S23's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The camera hardware is identical, and charging speed, WiFi 6e, Bluetooth 5.3, and so forth, remain the same. The S24's screen gets a bit brighter under specific circumstances, but that's pretty much all there is, other than a slightly different form factor. The AI enhancements will also be available via an upgrade for the S23 soon.

I don't know much about this chip in real life, but here's some advice from my side. You should work on improving the stability, unlike the previous Exynos chips, and ensure lag-free performance. Wishing you all the best for the new Exynos chip in the S24 and S24+.

Daine Ramos Quitco, I'm not a technician, but I read on another forum that the Exynos 2400 runs at 43+ degrees Celsius under load, while the Snapdragon Gen 3 operates at 38 degrees Celsius. I would imagine this impacts the battery life as well.

Richard, The SD 8 Gen 3 devices also run hot. Have you seen the Redmagic 9 review on GSMArena? Despite being a gaming phone equipped with a dedicated fan and a large vapor chamber for cooling, it was unable to complete the 3DMark test because of overheating (I'm talking about reaching temperatures over 50Β°C, not just heating up).

Pop, Well, 50Β°C isn't exactly overheating. It's built for temperatures like that. If it reached 70Β°C or 80Β°C, it would start some action to cool itself down, wouldn't it? Not sure.

niuso, Temperatures above 47-48Β°C can burn your hand if sustained for an hour or more. I'm surprised that while everyone talks about the non-existent "efficiency issues" of the Exynos 2400, no one addresses the heating issues of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Pop, @pop Exynos is known to have an inefficient/inferior modem compared to Snapdragon's. Most big tech reviewers that are sponsored don't thoroughly test the device and only mention battery life while using WiFi. Even when not actively using 5g, I can see that Exynos has a much weaker signal strength/reception and this all adds to a higher power consumption. The Idle battery drain is also more than I would like to see. This has been a known thing since Exynos came around and despite Samsung refining/optimizing their SoC, the modem is what drags it (the battery) down...

Non-existing, I bought the S25fe for about 430$ and it seems to run pretty well. We don't even have 5G in our country, so I didn't have a chance to test out the battery drain over 5G networks. Other than that, I've played Delta Force, COD Mobile, and PUBG. COD seems to maintain 120 fps under long sessions, and PUBG, while it supports 120 fps, I suggest playing at 90 because of sudden stutters in long sessions. Delta Force isn't properly optimized for this phone yet, as it only supports 60 fps. I haven't played Wuwa or Genshin. And while gaming, the battery does drain fast. Other than that, if you are a normal user, the phone will easily give you a day's backup. The performance is up to the mark for any medium to slightly heavy usage.
