The difference in performance is incredible. I see many criticizing the 8 Elite for its consumption, but that is the maximum consumption. In 95% of normal use cases, the 8 Elite will still give a better experience.

8 Elite's CPU can also be 4.47 GHz and GPU can also be 1200 MHz

They should start focusing on power efficiency, we have more than enough computational power. I believe 8 gen 2 is still better than 8 gen 4 on power consumption.

literally not lmao. give both of them 5 watts of power and 8 elite will perform like 50% better. the peak power draw is higher but that doesn't really mean anything since apps don't utilize that much power.

Weakness of Elite Gen4 is its power consumption. 2w more than Gen3 & Gen2 - in the thin mobile device that means you will not need a handwarmer in the cold winters - enough to start a 3d game ))

I've seen it pull 20w. That doesn't matter. Performance per watt is what matters. It'll draw less power while doing the same task as the 8 Gen 3. You can also dock the device and take advantage of the extra power that you can't use in handheld.

Clutch, But 8 gen 2 still the most power efficient soc Look at s23 s24 s25 S23 give 15% better SOT With 3900mah others r 4000mah

Shinobi, I haven't seen that issue with other devices. I know the S25 introduces an overclocked chip, but it shouldn't bring huge efficiency losses. Even with the lack of efficiency cores, I've only seen higher performance per watt, and longer battery, though I haven't gotten my hands on the 8 Elite for Galaxy. I remember the 8 Gen 2 being more efficient than the 8 Gen 3, but the Elite is on TSMC's 3nm process.

Zompi, Price? xD Its solid phone CPU.. but oo be fair tho.. every generation there will be a better chip The issue is people buy flagship CPUs & majority of them barely use it's power It's like you buy GT-R but only drive at 70 km per hour (30 miles) It would be more efficient if they have like 7+ gen 4 or whatever they will call it later (half Price for 80% performance)
