Although the Samsung Exynos 2600 is on the 2nm node and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is on the 3nm node it's important to know that the Exynos 2600 is fabricated by the inferior Samsung while the 8 Elite Gen 5 is fabricated by the superior TSMC. And while that smaller node for Samsung and give the Exynos 2600 higher performance benchmarks, the 8 Elite Gen 5 is of better quality. Also it must noted that the 8 Elite Gen 5 has the superior modem Snapdragon X85 while the 2600 Exynos is fitted with the inferior Exynos 5410. For me I'm willing to sacrifice higher speeds for better quality which is why I'm very happy with my OnePlus 15 and would never trade it for a Exynos 2600 powered Samsung phone.

You ain't speaking facts here You are only speaking shit to seem like a genius trying to expose Exynos You deem one inferior, one superior because your mind says so In my opinion you sound like a total idiot Who the fuck automatically proved Samsung nodes are inferior and TSMC nodes are superior Also some of the "facts" you say are either partially true or complete bias

The GHz is lower because their 2NM node is still inferior to the TSMC 3NM node used on the 9500 and 8EliteGen5. Having a better node is important because it means you can push the same amount of power/voltage and achieve higher clocks Good example is the 8Gen1 (Samsung Node) vs 8+Gen1 (TSMC Node), the 8+Gen1 has high clocked cores thanks to the TSMC node. Again, Samsung is inferior in tech vs TSMC

Toylet, I wouldn't call it the best explanation Samsung chose this mainly to focus on their efficiency and IPC, without absolute node efficiency so much in mind, Even if it seems low with 3.8Ghz, the fact that it can push to near Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 benchmarks is crazy good

8eg5 is garbage and qc knows it Bringing it back to sd888 style design. 11w per prime core means every single light task that needs burst processing will eat far more battery than it should, and sustained performance is down the gutter. Qc wrote themselves into a corner.

Leo, Well that's to be expected this is the first time Exynos switch to all performance core design with no efficiency cores compared to Dimensity and Qualcomm also Exynos has 2 additional cores and still using stock ARM cores which SD has 100% control over its design/efficiency while being processed by TSMC while Exynos having all that bad luck Samsung foundry struggle and yes all its history looking at 2600 its a huge improvement and so far the most stable for the first time their 1st generation process for 2nm implementation is somehow success and stable remember 4nm/3nm it's 1st generation process is nightmare and amost non existent i think 2600 is sign of redemption as long as they maintain their momentum and don't get swallowed by greed for me the biggest hurdle for Exynos is there Foundry and their greed to Overtake TSMC

Uffjj, You're kinda on point but despite having a higher single core, it loses in multicore due to not having 2 more cores which is why E2600 scored the highest yet because of 10 all performance cores that are clocked at 3.4 ghz while only one core is clocked at 3.8 ghz which is impressive. Exynos 2600 doesn't heat like previous gen

The pace of performance improvement in Exynos really amazes me. Just a few years ago, none of Samsung’s chips could meaningfully compare with those manufactured by TSMC. Now, I’m starting to feel optimistic that within the next four to five years, Exynos models could at least match, or even surpass, Snapdragon chips in various aspects.

As long as Exynos 2600 is fabricated by Samsung's foundry and Qualcomm is fabricated by TSMC'S foundry, I'll stick with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 with it's 3nm node process. While Exynos is on the smaller 2nm node process which has some advantages, I prefer better quality and reputability over a smaller nm node process.

Thesigma February 3, 2026 at 08:46 PM
You do understand that there are already noticable amounts of overheating reprorts of the snapdragon 8 elite gen 5 Its ok if you prefer reputability over specity, but you gotta understand that you can get a chipset clocked to the sky 4.61Ghz, at that point qualcomm should considered moving to a 2nm node but they didn't and 4.61Ghz by itself is already extreme on top of extreme, so its a combo of 4.61Ghz+bigger 3nm node+standard cooling system Its kinda obvious what the result could be

Hi, I'm glad you think that but the 8 Elite Gen 5 is no longer the efficiency king like 8 Elite Gen 4 was. It overheats and the record says that the Snapdragon chips wears off more quickly compared to other competitors.

For those who don't understand or conserned about thermals, here is the full proof of why the exynos 2600 might win in both thermald and sudtainabillity 1. Noticably lower Ghz speeds, these lower speeds mean it will take less power, considering the fact that snap is now with an insane 4.61Ghz which overheats at some phones, so it drops performance faster and can run hotter 2. Combined with the 2nm factor, its not only that the E2600 will have a lower speed but a smaller node also helps more 3. The new HPB cooling removes the DRAM off the chip for faster heat disspation, it uses a copper sheet that sucks up the heat and releases twoards and even larger vapor chamber 4. The gpu is only clocked at 985Mhz, it dosen't mean its weak, its quite the oppisite since its rumored it eill be packed with compute units at such a low frequency

how does the phone connect without a modem? Most of these benchmarks are done on the phone that the chip is built into. This case the EU/international version of s26/s26+. Those phones come with exynos modems, and I don't hate exynos modems. At least the specs says they're alright. And I'll take that word for it. Reputation and first impression is everything, but exynos has been improving. The fact that the improvement have been substantial and they tried to cover it by doing what they are good at, innovation, deserves support. New cooling block solution over DRAM, using the newer arm c1 architecture, 2nm. Innovation. And come on. When have you used 100% of your phone's processing power except benchmarking. You're not running AI off of you're phone. Phone processors have become plenty fast enough for 90% of the task to be done quite quickly. I'd still choose qualcomm though. Cause I like seeing sky high numbers when I benchmark the phone 30 times
