I was genuinely considering buying the Pixel 9 but then decided to wait for the S25 and hope that it launched with the Snapdragon 8 Elite in my region, and it did. Now it makes 0 sense to buy the Pixel at this price point and I'm going with the S25. I really don't understand what Google is doing with the pricing.

I got my pixel 9 for $170 from T-Mobile. $100 for a Samsung phone from eBay to trade in, and $70 for tax on the pixel. 100% worth it if it's heavily discounted. Full price for the pixel 9 heck no, lol

I did have OPPO Reno10 Pro+ with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 that I brought 1 year ago with 2 years old chipset and I was planning to upgrade to Google Pixel 9 Pro XL with brand new Tensor G4 chipset. I was expecting Tensor G4 chipset will be about as good as Apple A16 Bionic, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Mediatek Dimensity 9200 (or better). But in reality, just barely about the same as Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 performance and then much more expensive than any flagship smartphones in the market (like any phones that use Exynos 2400, Apple A17 Pro, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Mediatek Dimensity 9300) which makes me disappointed. At the end, I brought Vivo V40 Pro which use Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ (at least a better processor than my OPPO Reno10 Pro+) with good cameras and slightly cheaper than my last year phone.

I was expecting the Tensor G4 to at least beat the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in performance, but it looks like it's about 5% behind the Snapdragon chipset or something. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
