I have not tried the AMD CPUs however coming from a 12900K with EVGA 3090 hybrid to the 13900KS I did notice a big step up in performance in MSFS 2020. Not that the GPU didn't help any(Asus Tuf 4090oc) However when looking at the stats FPS, latency, RAM, and GPU usage both on task manager and other apps it shows the higher clock speeds are welcome on this title, I'd say more than the cache. The i9 13900K(s) does have more cache than its predecessor still less than the AMD. But the clock speeds even got rid of the occasional stuttering and a decent uplift in FPS.

can i ask why you would upgrade your cpu when you already have something that fast?

Intel is clearly the better processor this time around.

Yeah, It's quite fast no doubt mine did clock 6ghz out of the box. And during gaming, it hovers around 5.6-5.7ghz. For certain games and sims clock speed means a lot over the 3D cache. I guess both are very very good CPUs and both can do wonders.

actually, very much not, because the 7950x3d obliterates it in gaming, only slightly slower in productivity, nearly 1/3 the power consumption (450 (unlocked) vs 162), and much better socket support.

im not givin out my name, Not really, the performance is only notably better in gaming on F1 22 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, with a 12% and 26% lead, respectively. In other games, the advantage is minimal, always less than 5fps. This is due to the use of slower 6000MHz RAM, which limits the i9's performance, considering that it can run at 8000MHz+. This is not something we can say for the 7950X3D. Please note that this is with the 13900K non-S variant, so the small lead in a few benchmarks is bound to get even smaller or be eliminated, if not overturned, on the higher-clocked processor with faster RAM.

im not givin out my name, Where did you get your TDP data? On this page, it clearly states that it's 253W versus 162W.

I think that the L3 cache and in those times were electric bills getting higher the AMD deff wins, with less power usage and pretty darn fast. maybe it will not be faster in all games than intel but it will be most of the time because of this L3 cache. and even when this AMD CPU is like couple % less fast than intel it saves a lot of electric bill costs so overall a winner for me and for their new technology where the intel is just adding things instead of working around getting smarter. I think every company can make things bigger by just adding more GHz and more power usage and everything, but making things smaller but with more speed is what we need in the future.

This is it exactly, my 12600k has massive power consumption and I hate it.

I am really used to Intel, so I voted on it, but I understand, why people think AMD is better.
