You don't need such high end processors for what you ask for... Sd 7 gen 4 will also do. If you want a flagship processor, then 50% power of either of these will suffice your requirements.

I play Undawn, max FPS Always of course, to give u an idea i was playing at lowest graphics settings with gen 1, while i play at ultra, High res and antialiasing on with gen 3 leading v, and i get Just some frame drop more , but most of the time i m in 60-80 FPS range with 100+peaks, and few under 60 drops I Would still Need a bit of Power more tbh, bit undawn Is a damn heavy game, things like geshin and ZZZ run smooth at 60 FPS max settings

I forgot to mention a CRITICAL fact about 8 elite 8 elite has 2 versions (and I'm not talking about Samsungs Snapdragon for galaxy version) There's is a regular Snapdragon 8 elite found in the current flagship like OP 13 and Iqoo 13 But there is another '"8 Elite Lite" is foldable and slim phones it has 1 less core to control the heating issues For more details just Google- "snapdragon 8 elite has 2 versions" Becareful when choosing one, you may easily get confused between 8 core , 7 core or non oryon core (8s) variants of 8 elite.

7 core version is just defective silicon. i.e. not bad enough to scrap and not good enough to match regular 8 elite. So either go for 8 elite or wait for one more year when custom core will trickle down to 8s variants to save some money.

As some of you have mentioned, yes, you will not notice anything new if you open Instagram or TikTok on an 8 Elite or 730G. Seriously, the 8 Elite is a step up in terms of emulation (not for normal gaming) because the toughest of Android games run on ultra graphics on Gen 2 and 3 already; Elite is just overkill. Now, emulation is totally different, especially high-end emulation for Switch and PS3. While currently (Feb. 2025) there is limited graphics driver support, the potential it holds to run almost any Switch game is worthy of the title. The only flaw is the heating issues, which I doubt will be rectified as 8 Elite 2 or Gen 5 will come soon in Oct. 2025. If you are a common user, there is absolutely no need to upgrade from Gen 2 or Gen 3 or even 7+ Gen 3. Also, if you are an emulation enthusiast, there is no need to upgrade from Gen 2 (as to date, it has the best driver support) or Gen 3 since it hits high FPS in many Switch titles and has good temperature control. Over time, driver support will also increase. If you plan to buy 8 Elite for emulation, then I suggest waiting for the next-gen Elite as it will rectify many issues. If you just need to buy it for regular purposes, remember it still has heating issues even for Android games, so proceed with caution.

The 8 Elite runs cooler than the 8 Gen 3, in Genshin Impact and similar demanding games, the maximum temperature the 8 Elite reaches is 42°C with maximum graphics, while the 8 Gen 3 It can reach up to 48°C-50°C, the same happens in 3Dmark and tests.

Liel, It runs hotter because the chip can draw more power. One, it compares Xiaomi's and OnePlus's chip cooling priorities. Two, the 8 Elite will run cooler while performing the same task as the 8 Gen 3, assuming they're both under equal and ideal scenarios. Were both chips under maximum load in this YouTube video of yours?

To further add to what Sleepy said: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm made a dramatic change. They brought their own custom cores for 8 Elite and iterated on lots of other areas, that's why the performance difference is this big in CPU, GPU and efficiency. In my opinion, most of the time, the jump from from old to new process node will be 30%, rest of the improvements are covered by the chip designers (Qualcomm, Mediatek and Google) and the Architecture IP (Arm) they use. Qualcomm (Nuvia team that got merged into it, to be exact) did the heavy lifting this time for 8 Elite. Google and Samsung are the reason why Tensor is at this state when it comes IPC per gen improvements. Even if Google switches to TSMC for chip manufacturing, it won't be enough if Google themselves don't make a big change for Tensor in a good way.

Learner, It's instructions per clock, the main performance cores are clocking very high but per clock there isn't an uplift of performance. The commenter suggests that when both Cores are clocked the same (let's say 3 GHz) the newer cores won't perform better.

Without getting into all the details between Qualcomm's current flagship snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the upcoming snapdragon 8 Gen 4 the notable difference will be going from the 4nm node process to the 3nm node process. That alone will be a significant jump and upgrade which is saying a lot given that 8 Gen 3 is feature rich and powerful and should fullfill most customer needs for several years to come. Qualcomm is great and a proven winner.

If this holds up until release, it's going to be a massive gain for Android. Like 8 Gen 3, which was already a huge win from the already great 8 Gen 2, this one is showing a bigger gap. Man, Apple's days are seriously numbered if this keeps up.

New leak suggests it's 4.2 GHz and 3100+ / 10000+ on Geekbench 6.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is by far the most powerful smartphone processor ever manufactured. It can even rival Apple's silicon chips, Intel, and AMD. It's a laptop class processor that runs a Java Virtual Machine in Android OS.

No, bro, the upcoming Dimensity 9400 is far more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Antutu is 3.5 million, while the SD 8 Gen 4 is only at 3.1 million. Single core processing is the highest ever in the 9400. Battery efficient cores are there, so undoubtedly, Dimensity is going to rock.

Are you thinking straight?, TDP of Desktop cpus are above 60 watts, mobile chip is only 5 to 10 watts, you can not outlaw physics, if this chip can be put into intel socket, i won't be able to keep up with my rtx 4080 super 😂😂😂, let alone run blender rendering or autocad
