Been a Snapdragon and Mediatek user for long now. My main has the 8Elite a RedMagic 10SPro, very efficient and cool even on AAA gaming. Averages at 35-38 deg C only. Most of my mediatek devices always overheat for some reason..

Redmagic have sophiscated OS make the heaviest android big game titles run will but make your phone heats up like flat iron that's why they add active cooling on it if your brain can't comprehend a logic behind that phone you using.Try use it on emulation perhaps so called it runs cool on heavy games will shatter your expections. Infact both Snapdragon and Mediatek will overheat when you used it in full usage .

as far as i check on k80u,tb5m, iqoo z11tp+, k90, find x8, the 9400 runs at 2.9ghz max, 9400+ run at 3.3ghz on xiaomi and 3.4ghz max on iqoo, 8e run at 4.32ghz max. so may be if 9400 overclock it will better fps/point than 8e. all test i do on Scene apk

Hi. March 10, 2025 at 10:37 PM
Maybe with Cortex X925 with 3.7GHz with 100k-180k (depending on the cell phone) more in AnTuTu (that is, from 2.6m it will go to 2.7-2.8m in AnTuTu) the temperatures could go up a little, the average of the D9400 is 43Β°C. Taking into account the improvement from the D9300 to the D9300+, it may be that with the D9400+ compared to the D9400 the power consumption increases a little, the average of the D9400 is 2.1w, it may increase to 2.3w. This is my opinion, although what may be true is that it will have 3.7GHz and its launch will be in April 2025.

From the below comments , The Snapdragon is clearly better in terms of CPU . But in case of GPU , it's depends on the software which utilizes the GPU . Dimensity is better in terms of 1. GPU mhz 2. GPU cores (pipelines) Snapdragon is better in terms of 1. Shading units 2. Total shaders It's depends wheather the software is using more CPU cores or more Shading units . In apple most of the apps are using more GPU core , but most of the android softwares like PUBG game utilizes more shading units . Here is why Although Dimensity has more powerful GPU , Snapdragon takes the lead with more shading units. But Dimensity processors are value for money 😍

Judhistir, That's not what pro users do; they just don't have things to do. With the flagship title embedded, it should be the end of satisfaction. Besides, keep in mind MTK is closed source, so it's rare to find custom ROMs. TL;DR: Buy an SD product because it's mostly optimized for apps, or if you're truly a pro, then just create a stable ROM yourself.

Actually the performance of Dimensity 9400 has been downgraded and are not the actual results shown over her Through actual tests Dimensity 9400 has won with a slight margin A new version of vivox200 which is satelite edition of has also just shown it's Antutu which is highest currently in real life conditions And the battery efficiency is slightly better then 8 Elite I can provide source if u want And also on average dimensity has scored 28mil as well just like snapdragon but it's showing just 26 over here and needs to be updated Otherwise everything is the same for both chips other then multi and single core score but it doesn't really make a difference in performance in Real life conditions if u go for Comparison And if optimised like how 8 Elite phones are being optimised Dimensity can go higher in terms of power But since dimensity 9400 is more like a balanced type Soc the phones don't go for full gaming for it and go for specifics like camera for ex the Vivo x100 and x200 editions as well as oppo find x8 are all gone for More balanced performance unlike the 8 Elite which has Focused more on Gaming performance and due to that the phones with 8 Elite are also a bit warmer cause of the clock speed as well

SoC fan, 1._ The Snapdragon 8 Elite is more efficient than the D9400 and I have proof of this, since the Snapdragon 8 Elite in games, the maximum revs it reached was 2.6w and the average was 1.90w Compared to the D9400, the average was 2.1W and the maximum was 3W, and also the temperatures of the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the Iqoo 13 were 35Β°C compared to the D9400 in the Vivo X200 pro with 38Β°C 2._ The page is right on AnTuTu, as the average of the Snapdragon 8 Elite is 2.8m and the D9400 is 2.6m 3._ With the optimization in the D9400 it would not be more powerful than the Snapdragon 8 Elite, since Mediatek, at least in the high range, cannot surpass the performance of the Snapdragon 8 Elite GPUs.

It's amusing reading all of the MediaTek and Snapdragon fans argue, the benchmarks show they are extremely comparable, each pulling ahead in their own unique ways. This level of competition is a great time for the consumer base and either way Apple is finally no longer the only option for the best performance. Strange seeing Apple in 3rd place but it's surely a time to celebrate.

not on the gpu snapdragon is also better, there's a reason it can emulate pc games, and mediatek can't, and the efficiency is also debatable, since the mediatek gpu has too many cores

Guys even if dimesnity has better specs on paper than SD it will not compare to SD when it comes to actual performance in things games. Developers optimize their apps more for snapdragon than MTK, which is why though I personally prefer MTK processors over SD, I will go for a flagship device with an SD 8e processor because I'm sure my apps will run better on them.... But dimesnity is still my luv 😘. I just pray one day it gets better developer support.

Relax Boy's , The Snapdragon is clearly better in terms of CPU .

It's odd you say Qualcomm is better in CPU. Something is wrong with Geekbench 6. In Geekbench 5, they're not far off; In Geekbench 6, they look like they're generations ahead of each other! Plus, in AnTuTu, for some reason, the CPU scores look similar, while the Dimensity is slower on Geekbench! Something is wrong with Geekbench. That's for sure! Or... could it be the 3 X4 cores are difficult for Geekbench to read?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯, That's nothing wrong with Geekbench , like previously i said , the software which utilizes the shading units more they work better in Snapdragon , and the software which utilizes number of cores amd its clock speed they work better in Dimensity. Here you say Geekbench , it utilizes more shading units over the more cores or gpu clock speed . That's why it shows less scores . Both Snapdragon and Dimensity are very powerful , no doubt . But it depends on the software which utilizes their power and potential.

Hello, Finally finding someone who really knows this topic. Everyone calls Xiaomi 15 a bomb because of the heating problem and says Vivo X200 Pro Mini is better, so they claim that MTK9400 > 8 Elite. Nobody is talking about optimized software vs. non-optimized (Chinese version) one. And none of them compare the performance of One+13 to the Vivo devices since they know who is more powerful and stay comfortable due to Xiaomi's performance, saying Snapdragon can't handle the heating problem "that's why Mediatek is better." And my grammar is not that good, sorry for the mistakes.

Hello, I can say the same for others then there are so many optimization when making a 8E then dimensity It all depends how the Producer of the Phone wants to use the SoC For the previous generation there were so many optimization for 8 gen 3 yet dimensity was ahead And sure let's see when the Magic 7 pro comes out cause there'll be comparison of it as well for sure

Hello , Well agreed to that but this time In power efficiency Vivo has won for the phones that has been launched uptill now So it all depends how the Producer wants to use the chip We'll only be able to say and truly compare them when they are made with same manner like just 2 phones one with MediaTek one with sd other evrything is same then can it be truly compared otherwise we can't really compare them Optimised or not the other is better with few extra features and that's how it comes to end

This time snapdragon wins. I tested both but this time dimensity 9400 can't even match to 8 Elite in any test. Both cpu and gpu performance of 8 Elite is better. And you will be shocked to know that 8 Elite opens and runs apps way faster than dimensity 9400. Both benchmark scores and practical usages are better in 8 Elite

That's a blatant lie, my friend. They offer the same amount of performance. It might interest you to know these two things: 1. Benchmarks do not simulate real world performance. 2. Most phones have a "power saver" mode that throttles the power of both Chipsets. In full throttle, the 9400 gets 3M AnTuTu points. Get your facts before commenting.

Hello, Here we go again. Please answer me this, is there no SoC that throttles when you decide to use the full capacity of its abilities? Like the person you replied to mentioned, Benchmarks and Real Life situations are like day and night. You can't intertwine the two with each other so easily because there are a lot of factors to navigate.

Khaos, That 3m score is leaked πŸ€“πŸ™πŸ», if it were so, all cell phones would have at least 3m points since "according to you" it had 3.4m, and the only one that achieved 3.2m is the Redmi K80 pro, and there is no way to say that Xiaomi does not limit, because the Poco F6 pro is very limited, as is the Poco F4 GT

Rolly Ghiz, I may not be much of a tech geek myself and I certainly haven't tested both chipsets properly, but I have statistical references from Geekerwan and can vouch that while higher benchmarks can, in some cases, equate to higher performance, phone developers can only push the SoC that hard for so long before it throttles by reducing performance to save battery. Either you're just trying to push me for answers even if I don't know much or you're just trying to feed your egos. Either way, I won't take this discussion any further. Maybe some other time, hopefully we'll arrive at a much clearer conclusion
