Let's look at the performance. In CPU performance, around a 20% performance increase, and for GPU, 25%. If we look at the base price of the M4 Pro Mac Mini (1399) Multiply 1399 + (1399 x 0.2) 20% more price will result in $1678, or $279 more dollars for CPU performance. For the GPU: 1399 + (1399 x 0.25) = $1748, or $350 more dollars for GPU performance. If we look at the price, apple charges $200 for the higher 14 core, which is a good deal considering that 20% more of the price (CPU is $279) and 25% more (GPU) is $350. If you have the extra money to spend, get it. It is good value to get. If you are a light user, don't upgrade as you won't notice the difference.

I agree that the 14 core version makes monetary sense. But I would recommend upgrading the RAM over the CPU first.

This isn't correct. The $1,399 isn't the price for just the CPU & GPU, it's the price for the entire computer, hardware and software. For your logic to work, you have to isolate the price of the CPU & GPU at base and then compare 20% or 25% of those to the $200 Apple charges for the step up.
