The reason why Ryzen is better is because, while Intel performs better as a CPU, AMD compensates with its GPU. Moreover, this is specifically a laptop chipset, not a PC one. Consequently, battery life is crucial. In this aspect, Ryzen excels significantly, offering double the battery life of Intel. Additionally, when you unplug the charger, Ryzen outshines Intel in every aspect due to its exceptional performance at lower wattages!

Ryzen is more efficient, has higher base clocks (which makes me think it'll have higher all core boost, around 4.2GHz), features the same single core performance and slightly worse multicore(which isn't bad at all for half the cores). But the iGPU is why I choose ryzen, for a laptop with a dedicated gpu it makes battery life longer, and if you don't have one your laptop will still be quite capable with just 780m.

hnvhnvjb., Absolutely, 13700hx consumes like twice as much power while not being fast enough to justify picking it. Meanwhile 7840hs is not only more power efficient but also has a much better iGPU, something you'll be depending if looking to prolong battery life

willy wanker, How about productivity performance? I'm looking at 2 laptops laptop with these 2 cpus. I'll mainly be doing video editing and graphics design along with gaming when I'm travelling. Which one do I get? Ryzen has way better battery life as you mentioned but the Intel Quicksync on Adobe and DaVinci is pulling me towards the Intel.
